Look: point is, griefing is annoying. If you're a griefer, you're going to get dealt with. Period. Either by someone else in a tank, by someone going passive and said griefer gets pissed off (happened to me the other day...I was laughing my ass off at the tank kid as he was trying to get me), or by other means.

sh*t! It's been years since I watched that film and I had no idea that Daryl is in it! (Best character in Walking Dead, in case you don't know WTF I'm on about.)

Hmm - let's see: when you see someone repeatedly killing either the same person, or killing about three people in a row, more than likely they're griefing on people, most likely in a tank. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out.

Who's to say they are not 2 players who know each other? Unless you are involved in what they are doing, you have no business sticking your nose in.

You are clearly missing the point.

No, I'm not. Griefers and trolls deserve every little bit of grief they get.

You are missing the point. I'm not trying to start an argument or having a go/judging you at all, but what you describe yourself doing *IS* griefing. You have no idea what's going on with other people, but you see some "x killed y" messages pop up and make "vigilante" decisions based on that. Unless you actually are attacking someone that is griefing other players then you're the griefer.

lawl - fine, you win. I know that's what you wanted to hear.

I wasn't trying to argue with you, so that's not relevant. If you'd have said I was right and meant it then that would have been a good thing for you. I wasn't trying to get anything out of this conversation. I was trying to help you.

Doesn't strike a negative chord, it strikes a "it's only a game, who gives a f*ck" chord - think it's an E minor..

It's really not as hard to deduce as you think it is. Just go down there and LITERALLY stick your nose in the situation for a few minutes (without attacking anyone) and it's pretty easy to tell what's going on. Let yourself get killed a few times, see who does the bulk of the killing. See if they ever get into a car together, or just take a break from killing one another to hang out. Also compare their respective levels-- if it's a high level constantly killing a low level I'd say it warrants external retribution.

Someone make a boondock saints crew. I'll join it.

People like to say its high ranks who do all the griefing but most of the time from what I've seen its low ranks who try and grief the medium-high ranks because they have this notion in their minds of "Its GTA so I can kill people without any problems because its ALL GTA is." (which is a mindset even some high ranks have because they have yet to run into vigilantes and The Law in general) and have yet to learn their place as all griefers will learn eventually after dying a few times.

Now if its a high rank in a tank..sure, beat 'em down.

If its a high rank not in a tank its a safe bet the low rank started it from what I've experienced anyway.

They are far from innocent beings.

if vigilante groups are trying to create a organized group to combat trolls an griefers i'm all for it despite the fact groups like this/that generally are, or end up worse then the people they are against. an usually abuse people more then the occasional griefer, or troll does in the first place.

but everyone should play an have fun there way i just wish there was more ways for people to divide themselves up into ways to play with minor problems for each individual.

Organized vigilantes? As in people to go around with and shoot dickheads in the face?

Griefing griefers?

I'm okay with that. Like a PKKer. I've had fun with that myself in MMOs.

My crew is about justice and anti griefers and stuff but we dont go all vigilante and stuff. We do regroup to beat up an hacker if we find one but its mainly fun and calm. Stuff stuff stuff.

My crew is about that. It was first made to defend other players from the griefing money glitchers. Then hackers came so we got tanks to fight them. Being an hero feels better than being a d-bag.

Exactly what I think a large part of the people on this board are thinking that same thing. We patrol LSC to protect it frombeing glitched and bankrupted by money glitchers.

You've exactly hit what I was getting at in that thread (other than it being an obvious troll thread, probably by the tank run idiot with a new account). They're just another gang. THEY decide who to attack and they justify it. At least with a regular griefer they do it because they want to - end of. These pricks try and explain it away to the point where they picture themselves stood in the wind with a cap on, hands on hips, staring into the sky. I truly hope to see these guys online. I'd enjoy pummelling them, after coordinating it with everyone else in the session.

I saw that post.... Now, im no genius.

But that guys was NOT being a troll, unlike the majority of responses he got. And he made it pretty clear what his intentions where and how he goes about doing so.

I think some people here just have a hard time understanding engrisssh and like to twist peoples words around.

Just by reading you post, you seem to angry about it and it just blows my mind. As if griefers are all good, but if a group of organized players get together to hunt griefers they are the bad guys. Really? i think it sounds awesome and it sounds like fun. There is no real shortage of assholes to hunt online, so i don't see the the problem. Its not like they hunt down anyone they see.

Id like to see you take down a group of players working as a team while someone on TV calls the shots. You'd get spawned killed like crazy and would be in passive doing the jerk animation in no time. Why don't you PM him and make it happen.

:D

lol.. I know right.

I read the guys post. It sounds like fun.

Wish i had time to run a group a like that...lol

They are no different than the so called "griefers", in fact they are worse, no matter what their justification. Self important tiny dicked little morons. Who made them the GTAO police? They are in fact doing the very thing they hate. How do they know that their members are not in fact "griefers"? How long till "griefers" organize with the same tactics and fight back. They will solve nothing and in fact will only make the game worse for everyone.

...Really.?

Thats right folks. A bunch of griefers spawn killing the sh*t out of you for no reason is all cool. But if a group of players help you by attacking that griefer. They are the real bad guys here. Just common sense right?

Join us next week... Same bat time, same bat channel. Where we will discuss how players helping you in co-op missions are the DEVIL! Players helping anyone should be reported for being the real griefers of GTA.

Misanthrope Z

when i hear a virtual thug in the room, spawnkilling and dishing out death threats, i whip out my tank (which i like to imagine is covered in hearts and peace signs), drive to them, smack them in the head with the cannon and give them 10 seconds to cool off

if they fail to comply, they get blown up. we do not tolerate e-gangsters in my neighborhood, no siree!!!!

Inspired by a recent recruit post, I find myself wondering how this community considers the ramifications of organized vigilante groups. If players begin to leap from server to server, connected by external communication like teamspeak or a party, determined to quell so called griefers and trolls, does this bode well for free roam death match as it is?

It occurred to me groups who focus on this type of game play, apparently in the name of justice, are in reality simply another gang hiding under a veneer of integrity. However, had production made a better effort to accommodate other styles of play, maybe the idea of vigilante justice would never even occur. It's a topic that interests me, forgive me if it strikes a negative chord.

We don't organize or try to be vigilantes, however that is what we do often in free mode. For me, I am good at what I do. So I do it to those who do it to weak. I don't try to have a super hero or vigilante mentality, but lets face it....there is a lot of asshats around and not enough people blowing them up. They are in almost every single lobby. 9 times out of 10 they instantly come for it anyways. The amount I kill them is usually way overkill. I don't find it boring smashing someone for longer periods of time.........their tears are bitter sweet.

Edit: To those who say we or people like myself are no better than griefers.....that is just moronic. There is zero logic in that.

I offered my services to some guy wanting to make a chauffeur service for people. I'm game to follow his orders for a session or two if it'll lead me into some shinnanigans I wouldn't have stumbled across otherwise. Same with a vigilante group if they seem on the proper side of morals I'll join up for a little bit and fight the good fight.

Gotta spice up your sessions with something a little different now an again.

Vigilantes are fine the police need all the help they can get. You're right about the thin veneer of integrity though its basically just a crew ganging up on people. I cant help but ask... so what?

I wish they would have accommodated my playstyle, which is stealth. The gameplay mechanics of GTA are too weird for me as TLoU sh*ts all over it.
