You only get 3 warnings folks, so be afraid. Be VERY afraid...

Three strikes, and your ass is going to be bombarded with tear gas.

I raise you one Grenade.

I raise you two well placed SNS Pistol rounds.

Pocket Pistol? I can't even take you seriously anymore.

Maybe it's just me, but a gun is not what i first think of when reading "Pocket Pistol"

Inspired by a recent recruit post, I find myself wondering how this community considers the ramifications of organized vigilante groups. If players begin to leap from server to server, connected by external communication like teamspeak or a party, determined to quell so called griefers and trolls, does this bode well for free roam death match as it is?

It occurred to me groups who focus on this type of game play, apparently in the name of justice, are in reality simply another gang hiding under a veneer of integrity. However, had production made a better effort to accommodate other styles of play, maybe the idea of vigilante justice would never even occur. It's a topic that interests me, forgive me if it strikes a negative chord.

This really made me laugh. Not what you've posted but the thought of roaming gangs of players going from server to server. But they'd all be dressed and looking like Dog the Bounty Hunter lol

I'd be lying if i said i'm not going to see if i can match his appearance now :p

OT: Good for them, over time they'll turn into the people that they're trying to police...always happens; corruption, greed, murder.

It is fun,I agree. Tonight though I was in lobby o noobs/level 350+ modders, camped the roof of lsc and merked them relentlessly.

I really don't care about what people want to do in the game. I think it's a fun idea, but not enough to join myself. As long as they stay out of my way then I won't complain.

I was thinking of doing that..getting a friend on to use the passenger missile in the Buzzard and fly around hunting law breakers and bounties..oh and tanks of course.

All the while thinking this

They are no different than the so called "griefers", in fact they are worse, no matter what their justification. Self important tiny dicked little morons. Who made them the GTAO police? They are in fact doing the very thing they hate. How do they know that their members are not in fact "griefers"? How long till "griefers" organize with the same tactics and fight back. They will solve nothing and in fact will only make the game worse for everyone.

I am reminded of several times that low level players have tried to kill me and due to their persistence, ended up dying many times until a white knight swoops in to stop my "griefing." I imagine these groups do that all of the time by mistake.

i do this all the time. i standup for low level ranks who are being bullied/spawn killed

it did backfire tonight though. went to help a lvl 5 who was gettin murdered by like 4 people non stop and i get a cargobob and attach a tank to it and i go to deliver it to him and he shoots me out the sky.

i also like cargobobbing players who are being chased or with bounties and flying them to safety

Who the f*ck uses teamspeak for consoles?

People don't even use it for PC gaming! Most default to Ventrilo, Mumble, or even Skype.

Yeah they do, being that Teamspeak is the superior software.

This is just another winge thread from the same OP who keeps posting free-roam whiner threads.

I'm going to become a vigilante, but I'm not going to let myself be corrupted by tha powa.

I will NOT shoot on sight. First, I will attempt to pull you over and give you a ticket in my cruiser.

Failure to pull over/resisting arrest will result in a VERY stern warning...

I can totally see you pulling over the kids in their Chadders while this music is being played in the background.

As far as I know you cant get Teamspeak on the PS3, you just have to use the in-games team chat functions. Which is the reason I bought an xbox.

Right that makes sense then... used it for a few PC games and more often than not theres some feckwit who really doesn't know how to use it and booms out the speakers like god to Moses on the mountain... next thing you're expecting stone tablets with commandments to appear in front of you...

This is yet another wind-up thread isn't it? Oh lets go play mall-cop wannabe R* police in a virtual world. Massaging the ego much? Why on earth would you want to go through lobby after lobby picking on other players? Just sounds like the anti-griefers becoming the griefers and nothing more.

If a lobby is looking a bit too wild for your tastes, change lobbies. Either that or play a few missions and wotnot. A revolutionary idea, I know(!)

Maybe it's time to step away from the console................

I think that day is upon us already. I think reality has lost all meaning to some.

I don't care about organized groups (vigilantes) really but you know what group I hate....those fake ass mafia/mob/cartels that keep sending messages about who they killed even though it wasn't you and your not a part of their clique...honestly had one guy message me asking if I was in a crime family...I couldn't stop laughing. He blew me up as I came out of my garage and had the balls to MARP telling them I was assassinated as if anybody other than me had interest in the matter.

LOL

Did you ask the Don for a favor and not repay it?

The vigilante thing will be a benefit to all non-griefers, it probably won't get very big but it will work for some people.

had a rough lobby today, noobs pulling out tanks, so i grabbed mine and nuked him. when i do this i usually park my tank in the area to the left of the expensive apartments that is all twisty and turny, no one usually ever goes there, so it just sits there should i need i again. minutes later noobapotamus has his new tank out, i get mine again, kill him again.

he then starts texting me talking crap, i laugh it off, then he texts me to come get him lol. i go to where he is, and he is in the infamous wall glitch, of course, so i reported him and let him know i did, then he left.

Griefing griefers is MUCH different than griefing low level players. Griefers have it coming to them when they pick on someone repeatedly for no reason.

How do you know someone is a griefer until you ask first? Now how many of these trigger happy wannabe mall cops are going to do that?

Hmm - let's see: when you see someone repeatedly killing either the same person, or killing about three people in a row, more than likely they're griefing on people, most likely in a tank. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out.

It also doesn't take rocket science to see the words "more than likely" and "most likely" in your decision to label someone a griefer and attack them. If you're not in the situation then you do not know the situation.
