keytarjunkie
How does armor work? How often do I have to pay for it? When I'm playing a job, it offers armor to me for $480 occasionally. However, I'm always wearing my armor (it's...kind of all I'm wearing). Even if I don't pay for it, it's still visibly there. So do I ever have to pay for it, now that I own it? Can someone explain this to me?
XJpostman
If its less than $500 you still have a little left from your last purchase. If your armor bar is empty and it still shows your character wearing it you don't have any added protection. Its not really worth the money though anyways imo. Its two extra shots for the most part and you can absorb those two his by just waiting for your health to regenerate or eating snacks which are a fraction the price. I have also seen posts that talk about armor being taken if your character rag dolls the wrong way. It needs a big re-work.
gtaocicat
i am sick and tired of removing the armor from my character every time after a mission .
sizzla36
I used to have the armor problem but I deselected it in the interaction menu and now it never shows even if I have it on in a survival or something. Never buy it though definitely not worth the money IMO.

MrCamo
You armor is cosmetic unless you re purchase it. You can have heavy armor bullet resistance but make you character look the way you want. Even if your armor is depleted you can still select it to wear as part of your costume. Just look at your armor bar.

Captain Revenge
At 1st I paid $1000 every time I needed it, but after a few tanks it has gone down to $200. $200 for the Buzzard, Vellum or Speeder from Pegasus. 3 good armor missions (you call for it after your mission starts, after the mission it gets put back in storage for further use) 1. Los Santos Connection - a 4 part mission, which can be done alone on hard 1.5 in your tank, 1st part needs some TLC without blowing up black suv, in it it will tell u where to go 2nd, when u get there make sure u get everyone that shows up and even wait a few to make sure. Then put front of tank up against laptop computer u have to hack, move the centered highlighted numbers to the numbers shown, then match the red letters (SENTINEL) then get back in quick and follow the yellow brick road to the airport. Kill everybody and thing in hanger, get upstairs get coke, and get back into the tank quick, bring it to Martin. 2. Mix up the coke - real easy kill everyone and blow up 4 cement mixers, while on the highway feel free to use the other motorists as target practice, no wanted level will find u. 3. Lost MC RIP - go to the cemetery and kick ass, don't get hung up the grave stones. You can also bring a tank in on a gang attack but the cops show up after a couple of cannon shot. You can jump the tank off of that mountain ridge into Fort Zancudo. Today's game tip: I was driving in traffic and saw this really cool convertible, so i cut it off and stole it. It was a Grotti Carbonizzer and i was like I want 1. Then i put up the roof and said dam. I already have one. Its a hard top convertible, left D pad LMAO, oh you mean that armor. That's in your inventory, u only have to buy it once. File under DOH !!! Edited January 25, 2014 by Captain Revenge

Not sure if you are on 360 or PS3 but on PS3 you hold select for a few seconds and it comes up in the top left of the screen.
Chrismo
Select> inventory > armor > off Also i think armor is a waste of money you can buy food and drinks at all stores before you rob them. Use them to regain full health after you recover half health
MrCamo
Having armor on has saved me more than once. It usually allows you to get shot up until you find cover or reload. Also if you are rolled up on by two people shooting at you in a car you have a better chance of killing them both before dying yourself.
