Backup helicopters are pretty crap, unless you've got mercs on you. I've been on a roof before now that was low enough for the mercs to stay interested in me, but there was no ladder access so they couldn't get to me. Out of curiosity I called the backup helicopter which had always proved to be a waste of money. They killed all the mercs and then left, and I never got another wave of mercs afterwards. I just thought it would be funny to hire Merryweather to protect me from Merryweather, but on that occasion it worked quite well.

Only use them when i get killed by a random person when i havent done anything to them. It annoys the f*ck out of me when i want to go change my clothes at the store then i get lit up.

 

I send the mugger, then the mercs then a bounty then i climb in my buzzer and try to kill him over and over till he quits. Im pretty successful at it sometimes.

I use muggers, usually on friends for a bit of fun.

 

I don't place bounties anymore seeing as any car you get in off of the street you/ other people get a bounty instantly.

I'll use "off the radar" every now and then, but save mercs and muggers for the ocassional tank griefer/spawn killer when they find someone to pick on. Other than that, I'm not one to piss money away on a kill I can get myself, bullets cost way less and are more satisfying.

I will always send a mugger after a tank, even if I'm just watching it on TV. I love the idea of the tank getting jacked by an NPC, and while the success rate is abysmal, I can't stop trying for that golden moment.

 

OP, those merc/mugger/bounty options are magnificent anti-griefer tools - I use them to get guys off my back rather than for revenge. Plus the mugger will ninja-stun a player long enough for you to practically stroll up and end them.

 

That said, the Mercs take credit for anything that kills the target, including themselves. Someone calls Merryweather on you (and you don't want the hassle), cook off a grenade in your hand - Mercs will high-5 and head home without firing a shot and your antagonist loses $7500.

I used the airstrike once on a godmoder. It was simply to get a cool picture lol but I've only used it once. The mercs and muggers are horrible. Comical even

Only time I use the mercs is when there's a tank griefer...I've used em three times now and two out of the three succeeded.

 

Cheaper to send a mugger. They don't look like anyone special and they apparently can yank someone out of a tank with no warning and DRIVE OFF IN IT while the cops kill the original tank driver. Hysterical, especially if you're watching it on TV when it happens.

I like sitting home and sending mercs after people and watching it on TV. If they lose I get the money back anyway and if they win the guy might be so mad he might set a bounty on me which is probably exactly what I wanted. In fact if you ever see me griefing someone or killing anyone randomly it's very likely I'm trying to get them to set a bounty on me so I can enjoy some good ole car chases.

 

This makes me LAUGH... The idea of griefing someone to purposefully piss them off enough to make them chase you... I'd never thought of that!! Good on ya!

Lawl, I'm planning to troll an Adder kid by abusing the lack of insurance with bounties. Set a 1k bounty on him, destroy his car, and he pays for it. I'm losing 1k per bounty-setting fee, but he's losing 11k on insurance, so by the time the bounty fee reaches an Adder's claim, he already lost 110k. ;3

You seem to be able to think clearly and use correct spelling and punctuation, so clearly you are abnormal compared to the typical GTAO player.

OP you aren't alone, I've never called Merryweather or the mugger either, have only set one bounty because I thought I needed to in order to open up Lester services.

 

The reason I don't call Merryweather on people is because anytime they have been called on me....I make quick work of the soldiers or when things get nasty, I take off in my 9F and laugh at the wasted funds used on me. The mugger, same theory.

When some @sshat attacks me, then gets killed a bunch then expects me to come to him while he sits around the corner or in a pocket.....I will makes sure I can see him and then call merryweather while popping off a few rounds for distraction.

 

Muggers will also get guys out of tanks sometimes and steal it. Nothing more funny than watching a mugger steal someones take and drive to Blaine county with the idiot chasing it down for an hour. Best to do this while in a helicopter so you can get a birds eye view = Win

Only contact service I use is off the radar. Why pay someone else for something you can do yourself, and better?

 

Anyway guys, keep setting bounties. I love chasing them. And put them on me too. I always thank whoever does it. I have two characters so I play with the other one, and with the one with a bounty I play brief solo sessions to sell a car to LSC every hour or so. I get an extra 9Ks easily.

 

Outdriving people with a bounty on your head on twisty mountain roads is highly entertaining, but I don´t feel like wasting time like that right now.

I only use muggers to annoy obvious douches. Like a level 379 in his possibly hacked Hotknife.

 

I never used merryweather.
