I have never set a bounty on anyone, never used Merriweather, or the mugger option either, am I doing something wrong or just not being evil enough? Don't get me wrong, I do kill other players but usually after they mess with me but I've never had the urge to use those options or even use my tank or buzzard I bought b4 the money drain. Am I the only one who enjoys this gm without using some of these extras? Now that I think of it, I love having a bounty on me, so there's that!

I rarely set bounties, as cash is now precious to me. Merryweather Mercs, why bother? They SUCK.

Helicopter pickup, I use a lot. I just kill the driver and fly away. Worth the 1K for the instant chopper.

I've only tested the mercs, the mugger and the air strike a few times, just to see how the mechanic of it worked. I've placed plenty of bounties however.

Stop being a good guy in a game like GTA, you're gonna finish last just like IRL. Unleash your dickery, use the tank, go on a rampage and you love having a bounty on you? Bitch alert!

... youre just a boring player that deserve to griefed, mugged by players like ME!

ill send mercenaries on top of that!

haha it took me a while to start using those features, i first send mercenaries when i was like level 50...

They're all worth using, you just have to know when to call them in for them to be effective.

The other day a special crate drop was inbound - I had already picked one up before and gotten the T-Shirt, but my friend hadn't. So we were driving to pick it up, and I noticed another player was also racing towards it. So I called up the mercenaries and sent them after him. This slowed him down enough that we were able to get to the crate first.

Hey, so do I. It's a blast being chased by a slew of other players through the wilderness.

I love the thrill of the chase :)

me too. took things careful to avoid hacked money though, so they just never seemed a good use of money.

money is for ammo and cars, violence is DIY.

also love having a bounty on - stops me having to work out who i'm killing, they come to me.

For $7500 the mercs should not be a cakewalk like they are now.

I set a 9,000 bounty on someone who randomly killed me for the 100th time, but I stopped because I realized I was being butthurt. I spend most of my times in missions or races now.

Come to think of it, looks like I'm the bitch since I always run to invite only sessions when a bounty is placed on me  Edited by Gta-freak-VI

Only time I use the mercs is when there's a tank griefer...I've used em three times now and two out of the three succeeded.

Dude, I get what ur saying but I guess I'm a passive aggressive person just like IRL, if someone f's with me or my fam, I rain down hell on them but other than that I tend to leave ppl alone thus the bounty fetish. Oops definitely a poor choice of words with this group! Lmao! Oh and I never finish last in anything.... usually second to last!

Seconded.

It still doesn't seem worth it to me though. Even if they do succeed.

$7,500 to kill someone that you might as well hunt down and kill for free*

*Ammo cost should be minimal.

Hey OP: Want to form a new crew? We could call it the "bounty fetish crew" :p

No way to play is the right way, keep doing what makes you happy. I rarely set bounties because it feels like a waste of money. I like to use the Mercs when dealing with an annoying low ranked player. They're usually caught unawares and I can keep doing my own thing. As for airstrikes, I've used three, I think. My first on a tank camping a building I was stuck on (it moved as the planes came in so did nothing). Another on a sniper who'd choppered to the top of a building and was causing havoc. I dropped the flare below his dot and the bombers took care of him and his helicopter. The third was last night on another sniper. The airstrike missed him. $12,500 is a lot with that success rate.

I've never felt the need to call a mugger. You'd have to be sure a player was carrying a decent amount of money, like after a mission, and that feels a little too trollish for me.

Off the radar is probably one of the most powerful things you can use. Also using lester to remove wanted levels is very useful when dealing with the cops isn't something you feel like doing.

I'll only set bounties so it's easier for me to track said person. Especially if I'm trying to snipe them from a tank.

I don't typically send muggers except when I know it'll be hilarious. I had a guy that I was pretty much exchanging kills with but he had me in a corner and he was out in a field with his sniper aimed to kill me...he was a good shot, would've got me...I sent a mugger and was just able to see the mugger run up and knock him down. Hahahaha....then I was able to get out from corner and snipe him while he was shooting at the mugger.

I've never sent Merc or tried an airstrike.

Mercs are cool if you're a rich kingpin. Other than that I like keeping such power just one phone call away. Airstrikes are in the same category being expensive and almost useless. I don't set bounties anymore unless I need to kill a guy wise ass who thinks their entity will save their's.

They all have their time and place. If someone's stalking me, or just generally getting too close for my liking and I can't be arsed or don't want to fight them, then sending the mercs is a great way to get rid of them. Sure, they'll probably not kill them but they will go away. I generally throw bounties, mercs and the mugger at people with stupidly high ranks, and usually all 3 of them work. I've found that very few people above (let's say) 500 are actually any good at the game. They should probably only be about 20, if that.

I enjoy them regularly, but not as regularly as I did when money was irrelevant. OP - have a go. Get your ass-hat on and pick on some players for whatever reason floats your boat. That is what they're for!

I like sitting home and sending mercs after people and watching it on TV. If they lose I get the money back anyway and if they win the guy might be so mad he might set a bounty on me which is probably exactly what I wanted. In fact if you ever see me griefing someone or killing anyone randomly it's very likely I'm trying to get them to set a bounty on me so I can enjoy some good ole car chases.

Judging from these posts, I'm definitely gonna have to try some of these things and I forgot about the airstrikes! Good to know they don't work so I won't waste the money. I think I'll use them all at once on some dope I don't want to deal with. I'm on PS3, so hopefully it isn't one of u guys. Lol!

If someone sends mercs after me it's usually a waste of time since I snipe a lot, and the rooftops I go on are helicopter access only, so they just give up. On the rare occasion that it happens and I am on the ground, I'll either run or fight, or (if I want to get my own back on the guy that sent them), I'll just wait till they're there and kill myself. They'll see "furry monkey took the easy way out" and then be told the mercs killed me, knowing full well that they didn't. Awww.... you want your $7,500 back do you?? Heh - no.

Yesterday I had a bounty on me and managed to get 8 kills before someone got me. I'm not usually that good. One guy I killed 6 times and he eventually got the bounty, but it was just 1k. I heard him over the mic going "all that for just a thousand!"

Of the three you mentioned, I use Muggers the most. It only works for me about half the time, and I hardly ever get to watch it go down. But it's cheap enough to give me a cheap laugh. The Mercs...meh, too easy to see coming. Bounties...I like my money too much for that.

I have yet to call in and see an airstrike. Guess I am the suck at that.

I rarely use(d) those services either, though I get them thrown at me often enough. Given my success rate against mercs and muggers, I see them as entirely wastes of cash better spent on vehicle mods/weapons/ammo. Last bounty I went after hid in a parking garage and threw it all at me (the mugger did manage to knock me down, but it was no sweat to kill the mugger and get my money back; and the bounty never even moved, so I came right back and it was like nothing had happened). I capped the bounty pretty easily from the freeway as he popped his head up like a fool. I never even went off-radar.

If anything I use the 'lose wanted level' most frequently, because it's quite convenient to not have to dodge the cops in addition to everything else, especially when they've got choppers up and the guy you're trying to get also has a wanted level. Lolz.

I swear, half the sh*t they put in the game like the mercs and muggers are just ways for you to waste your hard grinded cashmonies, making the shartcards more attractive...
