DYOM Version 8.1

 

Three weeks ago we released DYOM Version 8.0. Thanks to the DYOM community, we found some (major) bugs. We want to thank you all for reporting these bugs. We can now release DYOM V8.1!

 

Minor Improvements

  • Show objective numbers while browsing for "teleport to objective"
  • Added some new animations, among which a weapon dependant AIM animation.
  • Added quick-browsing (using G/H) for animations.
Bug Fixes
  • Don't do actor selection for player animations
  • Throwing driver out of car after cutscene with player as passenger.
  • Fix crash, when car or actor used in an "actor" cammode, gets hidden right after the cutscene
  • Improved resposiveness to checkpoints, in complex missions with lots of "must survive" items.

Although this is already a bugfix release, more bugs are inevitable. If you encounter them, please report them, with as much detail as possible about the circumstances, in this topic.

Too bad we already found (with help of the DYOM community), two more bugs we are able to solve. However, we do think that it is a shame that we did not hear about it earlier. We waited three weeks so that we could release a very stable version with bugs you guys found. Once we released v8.1, within a day we received two quite big bugs which were also in V8.0, so could have been fixed in v8.1...

 

We are going to make a second bug-fix version, and we hope that you will report ALL bugs found, so that we don't need 20 bug-fix versions. Thank you for all your help, we love you guys. :)

So, the new bug-fix version will not come out in a long time, right?

I don't think the invisible checkpoints bug while designing is still fixed.

Another bug I found: After designing and testing your mission, the cars you placed will hover over the ground by a feet.

This is an engine limitation it was already stated by Patrick.

And the cars go down when you play, so thats not a problem. If they get into the way, just edit them and they go down anyways.

When I enter the barber during a mission, the game crashes. When I'm designing it doesnt crash. What's wrong? Please fix it and the invisible checkpoint bug in DYOM 9 :)

Interiors have been a big issue for quite a while now. Try teleporting your player in as an alternative.

As for the invisible checkpoint bug, a temporary fix is by creating a cutscene and looking at the checkpoint.

Sounds like you had to deal with this for many times. Could you please describe the issues with interiors in more detail, so that we can look into it?

Simply, during the mission or free roam in storyline, most of interiors make game crash when you try to enter it. Once i made my storyline with V6, i used to set checkpoints at pizza shop with text 'Enter the pizza shop' and it worked well, unlike the newest version where when you reach yellow arrow, the game crashes.

Yeah, I have this issue too sometimes: I design a mission, make teleports, all works fine, but soon as I want to test it, it crashes! But I can't always "enter" the location by foot, sometimes I just need to make a cutscene, but still...

It's always been there, far as I can remember...

Ehm, I've never used DYOM before. But I guess, it shouldn't be that if I select "Add Car" the window with the text appears, my char freezes but still nothing happens? Also I can't exit the menu anymore, the only option then is to start a new game.

 

It also doesn't work with CLEO VehicleSpawner, it's select window also just freezes.

The normal game works just fine. Maybe it is because of modloader?
