Then I'll believe that these cars are yours. Swapped out the fuel injected 5.7 for a 383 stroker I bought from a friends dad that had it in a mudding truck.

Did some minor upgrades after rebuilding it, Cam, holley 750 carb, rockers etc etc. It's my spring/summer car that I take to the drag strip every other weekend, classified as Street ET and runs 13.8 - 102mph average.

My winter car is a piece of sh*t 98 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.

I work for a Japanese car company so the majority of people I work with have the companys vehicle as they are offered to us at steep discounts, I get alot of looks when I roll in for work in the Iroc.

That is what a 1.9-2.1 60' time. So your in regular street tires. Cars making roughly 260-280 WHP. Like 320-330 at the flywheel if those numbers are true.

 

I know a little about going down the drag strip. A little about cars. A little about going fast and making HP.

 

 

I didn't need to look this up to know that no Iroc's were sold with 350's in 86'. 87 was the first time it become available to the public for purchase.

 

I grew up in this era and was an Iroc Z nut.

 

None the less if you indeed have said Iroc. Congrats. They are becoming rare these days. I need to scoop one up and store it away before all the Good ones go into hiding and nothing but rusted junk is left.

Here's my 1996 Nissan Almera N15 (Pulsar outside of Europe?). An 18 year old car past it's prime and showing its age, but has proven to be more reliable than some of my work colleagues cars - which are only a couple of years old.

 

This car has transported one of Rockstar's GTAV team around too... no joke

 

 

Can't say she's sporty, or fast - she's a reasonably high-spec model but has an old (pre Turbo) 2-litre diesel engine (75 bhp when new, so much less now ), which gives me a 0-60 time that can be measured in days, not seconds. On the plus side, she sounds like a tank and passing pedestrians can get a face full of blue smoke on engine startup if they're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Just had the Almera's chassis waxoiled to protect her during the cold months, and bodywork maintenance will be done throughout the next 12 months. New front panel and bumper to be fitted in the spring and hoping to have a full body respray in 2016 if she's still mechanically sound.

• Cigarette lighter
• Heater that only has two functional settings left - On and Off (I call them 'All or Nothing')

 

According to online sources, there are less than 40 of these diesel Almeras left in the UK. Plenty of petrol engined ones, but the diesels are pretty rare these days.

 

Anyway, the closest car I have in GTAO is the Stratum. Not perfect by any means but it's what i've chosen:

Lol, I was getting it prepped for storage for winter, I'll tell you though that 454 HATES the cold. My Dodge with the 5.9 Cummins in it gets its sh*t together faster.

Nice Civic! I had a DC5 these last two years, sold it to buy my Bmw & am really gonna miss it, was a great all round car. Ate up highway miles like no tomorrow, and was always fun when I took it to the mountains on curvy back roads.

How common are cars of this age in the US/Canada (unsure of your location), and how much did the Regal cost? Seen quite a few old cars on this thread that are all stateside.

 

In the UK, driving a car from 1979 these days would be really unusual - probably because of our cold, damp climate and the horrible build quality of most of our vehicles.... but seeing cars from the seventies here (as daily runners at least) is a very rare thing.
