If it all goes my way in a few years, I'll have a 1998-ish Honda Civic 1.5l VTEC/1.4l 3dr.

 

Don't pick the D15 SOHC's. Aim for one with a B16 DOHC with true vtec. Hondata S300 with dyno tune, high comp pistons, rods, cams and valvetrain = 200whp

Will try my best. I would like a DOHC tbh. I have to pick whatever's affordable on the market, maybe I'll get lucky

Man forget all those B series and go straight H. A semi-rare swapped JDM engine from a 97 Accord (I believe) modeled H23a (nicknamed Blue Top) is a 2.3L DOHC Vtec that's pushing 200HP/ 160FTlbs running just stock alone. And best yet you can find them for nearly half the price of a B series starting as low as $600 from online dealers.

 

200HP stock in a ~2,000lbs car is going to haul ass. You can even keep your D-series trans/axles/shift linkage with a conversion mount from Bisimoto or anywhere alike if you'd want. For less than $2k you'll be running raw N/A power that's going to smoke B series and turbo'd D's that cost 2x as much.

At 17, you will NEVER be able to insure a 2.3l. I'll have to start saving for all the engine swaps for my early 20's. Sounds good tho. Would be much easier if I lived in the US Edited June 1, 2014 by ModderX

Last year when I went back to visit I saw he gave it to a nephew who crashed it and then let it sit in a field and rust out. I hate that man. We had one when I was 2 or 3 and my greatest goal in life at the time was to pee out the side door while we went down the road

 

This isnt my car neither is this my picture, but i do own exactly the same car. Only i have 2 more doors and i painted my wheels black. (I dont have pictures right now on my iphone but i'll post them when i have).

Mmmm. For a thousand that's actually quite a steal. We all had to start somewhere and this seems to look like it's well taken care of. I'd recommend a Type R front lip and to paint the side skirt, license plate area, door moulding and door handles. Some subtle 16 inch wheels and a really good shiny polish.

Now, I could never leave my beloved GTIs but I can fully respect a well done Honda.

I wish. I'm too young, but my dad said maybe we could get one when I'm 15 or 16 and just hold it until I can drive.

I'd love to have it now and keep it until I can drive, but I know if I ask my dad, the answer will be "No" . But there is a possibility I could get one when I'm 15/16 and keep it until I can drive, as said above. There's also a 1.5 VTEC for the same price.

 

I've been showing my dad all these Civics, trying not to bug him, but drop subtle hints I want to buy it so bad, it's such a good deal. Beautiful mod ideas, though. I think it's lovely stock tbh. All I need is my new car scent air freshener and I'm done.

If I knew how to post pics on a mobile it would be a dodge Dakota 2002 with a turbo a titanium ceramic JBA racing headers and a volant cold air intake aswell as flowmaster super 44s... I can't believe a quadcab can beat hondas !!!!!

I 'd like a 240 but they weigh a ton and are slow.

Just because they ain't your taste, doesn't make them sh*tty, or give you the right to be a dick

 

I actually don't see the appeal of most Jap cars, always seem very bland to me, especially in the interiors, but I lot of people like them and respect for that.
