People are posting net pics and pretending they own the cars. Lame.

Well I do own the one I posted. A fellow forum member can testify to my obsession and the not inconsiderable noise it made driving up his road!

Scoob's pic is indeed of his own car. It's a beast.

I can post proof pics if anyone doesnt believe me. Whats required?

My car. This game needs a GTI look a like.

This car confuses Dirk Rowe. Why would you ever put money into a car like that? You know you can do much better, right?

There's no replacement for displacement. Get a car with a v8, turbo that, give yourself some clearance and youl never want to drive a Tokyo drift wannabe 4 cylinder again.

No thanks, I'm good. I've done the whole go fast thing. My last car was a modified STI. I'm just fine going low and slow. Well, not that slow with 20psi forced into my little 4 cylinder.

By the way, I'm having a hell of a time trying to drift my fwd car. Any tips?

My wife says VWs are too girly :O , I think they are cute.

Also, I am wondering why anyone with a good sense would give up their STI for a VW........

Tips for drifting: Buy a mans car.

I got bored with the Subie. I don't keep cars long, and I'm a VW guy at heart. As far as buying a man's car, are you talking like a Mustang or something? I still have all my teeth and I don't look good with a mullet so it's not really for me.

Im not a VW guy either but I dont dis on anyone's car cause the owner obviously cares and has put time and energy into it. Just like I have, guess Im just a car enthusiast.

Any car despite displacement can be built to be faster then anything else (To a very extreme limit that no one here will be able to contest to). Just depends on your budget and what you want out of your driving experience. Why does it matter what car he bought, and what puts you in the position to give people advice on whats best for their needs?

Not a teenager or a tough guy, but that was a close stereotype. And my mustang comment was tongue in cheek, although I do work with a guy that lives up to my description on all accounts including the mustang.

You and your friend could have fooled me

Is car insurance dirt cheap in the USA or something? It would cost me thousands of pounds a year to insure some of the cars you dudes have.

It costs me £900 (~$1500) a year to insure my car on the first page. (A 1.6 litre hatchback -___-)

Compared to the UK, yes. I'm an 18 year old male and I pay $135/month for full coverage (covers any collision/hit and run) on my camaro. (so ~$1600/year). If I dropped down to liability insurance (only covers me if it's the other person's fault) it would be $900/year. My rates were actually exactly the same for my '83, even though it had a V8

Wow. I'm 25 and am driving a FWD, four cylinder, 130bhp, generic-looking hatchback and I pay the same as an 18 year driving a V8 Camaro? This country sucks. Only consolation is that going from full coverage to third-party only (liability) isn't much of a price difference in most cases.

Not enough compacts... Bought this off of my brother for 2k, 106 1.6 quicksilver, TDi engine swap, stripped interior, sounds like a vibrating baby rattle on the inside, raw golf on the outside.

ab47e9.jpg

LMFAO! at-least get a 306 ..jesus!

Here he is, someone who will always find flaws in any comment I make. You see, I don't have the money to do that, baring in mind I got the car from my brother it makes pretty good sense as to why I have a 106. I don't see the problem with this, in comparison to a 306 as they were pretty much manufactured at the same time and production was halted at the same time; The 106 is pretty much a smaller model, and I don't think the tax man nor the go compare man will exactly be supportive of swapping a 106, with a stronghold chassis, a 1.6, without knowing it's a TDi under rags, for a basic 306. The insurance will rocket and my boss wouldn't be happy paying double for me to use my car.

How much of a poser are you?

A lot

Lol No. Mustangs are pretty girly too. It is a pony car after all....What I mean by a mans car is well AWD or RWD for the most part. Some thing that gets terrible gas mileage you know haha The teeth and mullet thing? I think you got me all wrong haha. In all honesty it is whatever makes you happy. I'm not hating, even if it isn't my preference.
