Okay, I know I am coming across like a whiny little 'b' but I'm fed up with the online portion of GTA V. This is how my typical gaming experience goes (I'm new online, level 6): I leave my apartment and fly out of the garage like a bat out of hell to avoid the one or two jackholes camping at the exit shooting at me. Then I have to go pay to get my car repaired because of a flat tire and body damage done to my car from trying to escape. Then I try to rob a store. Now either some jackhole is out there and shoots out all my tires or they just flat out shoot me dead as I exit the store. So fine, I guess I can't rob stores. I decide to go into some missions and actually have some fun with them. But then I want to try to get some new clothes, but like with robbing a store I have to worry about some jackhole wating for me to leave the store. I want to try to get a new car, so I find one and bring it to the Mod Shop, and some jackhole is sitting there and blows up the car with a grenade or sticky bomb as I enter the parking lot. I get fed up and go back to my apartment, but have to avoid the gauntlet of jackholes trying to kill me driving into the garage.

Now I understand that it is 'Grand Theft Auto' and some rampage and mindless killing is to be expected, but it is frustrating being preyed upon for being new. I haven't unlocked bulletproof tires, armor for my car, or any good weapons so I can't last at all.

I've heard/read that Rockstar has a 'bad sport' penalty for those that misbehave and do stupid stuff, but I doubt they enforce it or maybe this ambushing is what they find acceptable.

And for my last gripe, I want to thank the jackhole that randomly gave me $500,000. While you think you may have been nice, I would have liked to earn that myself. I feel like I didn't even get to earn my apartment and car and may start a new character, but then a different jackhole would do the same thing so might as well keep plugging along. Probably for not much longer.

Anybody else have the same issues with jackholes? How do you deal with them/ stop them?

I support the motion on Invite Only. I always load up in GTA V & then use the start menu to load up into an Invite Only session for my friends and I. If none of your friends play this game then you may want to hop around til you find a lobby with a more accepting crowd.

They say recognizing you have a problem is the first step towards finding the cure....... but it does suck to be a noob.

Life in Los Santos is tough if you a low level loner ... its really tough.

With the type of drama outside your apartment i am guessing its the expensive one in Rock Hills? My advice here, sell it. Get yourself the 10 car Garage behind the LS customs by the airport which almost no one goes to. Get a helicopter at the airport or the helipad and move around the city. Helicopters are awesome getaway vehicles for store robberies

Primary objective though would be to find a crew. Dont join one of the really big crews cos you will ultimately be surrounded by crew members while in a lobby but still alone, cos the crews are so large almost never get the same crew member in a lobby. Find a small crew, where you will actually get to know the members and you set .... cos they will show you the ropes from there.

I think the best way to start off would be to do grind some jobs and races (agreed, the jobs at lvl 6 aren't the best, but at least you'll rank up fast).

Don't waste money on fixing up your car, even though it's not that much money to speak of.

Save up some cash while leveling up, buy a good sports car (Carbonnizare would be my choice), and concentrate on improving that one car.

Do survivals, they're good for leveling up and improving shooting stats.

Those are the advice I can think of right now...

I too get mad with griefers, but as you continue to play you'll get into the do's and dont's. People who grief usually end up being killed twice as much as they kill. If someone kills you outside a store/clothes shop - respawn and chase after them, kill them time after another til they get tired and quit the session.

Edit: get bulletproof tires as soon as possible, regardless of what personal vehicle it is. Without them you're f*cked.

LMAO.. I can relate to that feeling, flying out like a bat out of hell. Wonderful expression!

An apartment at level 6? Damn, you lucky! I didn't even have a car at level 6.

Invite only sessions hold the solution to your problem until R* finally has the wit to group similar ranked players in lobbies together. I always thougt, right from when I was a level 1 that putting newbies in with level 100 players was monumentally stupid.

Sounds like you have a jackhole problem.. ;)

What he said above us great advice

I would add, Because it would take a little while to get to lvl 20 and BP tires. Have a higher lvl player build you a street car with BP Tires and full performance would be great too for quick getaways and better handling. I'd suggest a Gauntlet. Best all around performing muscle car and they're usually not hard to find. Good looking and insurance is cheap. Pull in your garage for free tracker from your mechanic $4000 to buy insurance from LSC and only $400 if you wreck it or drive it into the drink.

Make this your daily driver if your chose to go out in free roam with randoms.

Post up in the meet up section when your on to find someone willing to help you build a daily driver and show you the ropes.

Another thing you shouldn't pay for your repairs either.

Just pull back in garage and your mechanic will fix it. That's why you pay him.

Or if your far from home just leave your car there. And grab a random car or run far enough away to call your mechanic and he'll bring it to you all fixed.

Others give him a bad rap, but he always fixes your ride for ya..

Also, when your below lvl 10 car jack and beat the sh*t out NPC drivers all you want, because you won't get a random bounty in you head and it builds your strength stats beating them up.

Losing the cops is good for your RP too.

Your vehicle won't get impound if you get killed by the cops with a random car and you sell the car and lose the cops in one of the pay and sprays.

Spend some time in Palleto Bay or Grapeseed.

In a full lobby the city is just full of crazy jackholes.

Good Luck and have fun.

You do get put in with lower levels

But they can invite whoever they want to that session.

How could not have car? Simeon pays for free mods tracker and insurance at level 5

Also to OP

I hope you didn't buy the 400k apt.

That's the worst place to live.

If you really have to have an apt and not just a lockup. Move to Del Perro it's far enough from all the others it's half the price so your could just trade down (you get 1/2 your old apt when moving)

It's a straight run to 2 LSCs and close to all other shopping too.

So the view isn't the best.

but your not gonna sit in there looking out the window are you?

That sounds awesome.. Love to find a chaotic lobby like that. All I seem to find are the tankers in the lobbies. Which, is fun as well, but, where you have been playing sounds a hell of a lot more fun to play in.

I could help you with the car/bullet proof tire thing if you're an xbox user. I'm on most nights. Gamertag is the same as my profile name.

If you got room in your garage store a baller or a felon/felon gt. You can sell cars to los santos customs in the game about every 45 minutes. Ballers are worth $9000, felon gts $9500, & regular felons are worth $9000 (if I remember right). Take one out & more will appear.

The best way to level up is doing survivals it also helps your shooting skills and your left with the guns you pick up untill you change your session..

if you want to do random things in free roam and dont want to be looking over your shoulder then do a invite only session or make friends and go places with people so someone has your back..

I know the feeling when your a beginner and everyone picks on you but when you do get those odd pistol kills against levels 50+ it was a great feeling lol.

as your new I would suggest just taking random cars you find as if players blow your pv some times you have to pay for it or part which isnt great when your trying to save up

just watch your map of players closing in and most of all just have fun :)

one problem with picking up the guns from the session . when its over you will be left with hardly any ammo and if you picked up more than one kind of gun you dont have unlocked yet , you will lose one of them oncethe match is over

Anybody else have the same issues with jackholes? How do you deal with them/ stop them?

The two jackholes who attack when you leave: use the quick job option to get out of the apartment, do the job, then call the mechanic to get your chosen car sent to you.

The jackholes who attack when at a clothes stores/mod shop/etc.: These are best done in an invite-only session if you want to avoid jackhole-based conflict.

Having extra money you want to get rid of: do a lot of betting in the lobby. Maybe sell the apartment and get a garage?

I've been in lobbies with level 1 players and I'm currently level 95. When I was a ,low level player I was regularly in lobbies with players of a much higher level. I remember ending up in Base Invaders as one of my very first missions when someone in the lobby was hosting it!

I sold the car 'cos I needed cash. Simeon and Gerald's early missions were not exactly financially rewarding.

What I do is go Solo to do all your car modding, shopping and robbing stores and when I want to fight then I go to public match. That way I can do all my personal crap alone and fight when im ready to fight. When you go public it is to be expected. But unfortunately do not trust anyone as its every man/women for themselves in this game lol

Go luck :)
