XLiveless does work, yeah, but I guess Tomasak wants to be able to go Online as well. Anyway, ThirteenAG's Ultimate ASI Loader got updated 2 hours ago, so it probably works too.

ye ye, i tried it with UAL named as dinput8.dll, after renaming to xlive.dll it works.

Weird thing, with ThirteenAG's UAL my game simply closes about a minute or two after starting. No matter if I'm already playing the game, browsing through the menus, or looking for MP3s to throw into Self Radio while the game is minimized. Maybe that's because I only dragged-and-dropped the DLL, without any INIs included in the archive.

Maybe other asi loaders disable some gfwl checks, UAL doesn't do that. Works fine for me as xlive.dll though.

 

Anyway, ColAccel updated again, some important bugfixes.

Maybe that's because I only dragged-and-dropped the DLL, without any INIs included in the archive.

This happens with the 1.0.8.0 version and old ColAccel file. Deleting colCache.dat fixed it for me.

Edit: It wasn't a permanent fix. Game closed again.

It won't work with gfwl. You can use it as xlive.dll, then it will be xliveless, just like you can still use this version.

See what's listed under additional features there? That's what XLivelessAddon does.

Basically, XLivelessAddon != xliveless.

i try this mod in my gta, which i did notice that breaks performance and does not give stability as many believe

For me the experience with this mod hasn't been very good

1. I didn't notice much improvement to the loading times

2. After some time playing with this mod, misplaced building models with collisions started to appear around the map(https://ibb.co/bd1zMjn and https://ibb.co/ccrH80k), a LOD of a building near Roman's cab depot disappeared(https://ibb.co/RhH6343).

It took me a while to find out that this issue was caused by this mod, so I deleted this mod's cache files and then the mod itself.

The effects of this mod have been so deep that some building models (without collisions) remained floating in the sky and in the middle of the streets of Alderney(https://ibb.co/JQpPCLJ https://ibb.co/YBn7vbG https://ibb.co/c89zwMt https://ibb.co/9WwGnsB).

I tried to reinstall my game 4 times to find out that this mod buried some of these issues in my savefile on which I worked for 50+ hours.

 

I think that if you're just a casual user(like me) and not a modder who can solve any issue with his game, this mod does more harm than good and it's better to wait for 10 more seconds for the game to load than to experience these gamebreaking issues and ruin your savefiles

This mod only pre-caches collision data, but you say that even after after removing cache and the plugin your game remain bugged. So you definitely have used some other mods that changed your map files or possibly saved your game with wrong/corrupted cache (I still doubt collision data is being saved in savegame). I also don't have any problem for a long time in the clean vanilla game.

 

I agree that it doesn't really have much effect on loading time on very old and slow PCs (laptops) but on a powerful one the game loads fast like SA (faster than first loadscreen changes to second one)

All that was mentioned in the tutorial on how to use this mod was to put it into the plugins folder, so I started using it since it was recommended to be used together with Fusion Fix as far as I remember, also I thought that it was one of those safe mods like widescreen fix (for older GTAs) that won't brake my game.

I am using an HDD(7200rpm I think) and you seem to use SSDs. Could this be what caused my issues?

From my perspective of a casual user, I can't understand how any other mod that I had installed could possibly influence placement of building models

The mods that I had installed were:

-Modified timecycle(CleanIV)

-Ultimate Asi Loader

-Fusion Fix

-Fixed collision for Rancher(vehicle)

-ColAccel

 

I understand that using mods is a risk. I shared my experience with this mod, maybe this will help some other users

@ThirteenAG Well then sorry I wasted your time, it was my mistake, I probably installed ColAccel first and then changed collision file from vehicles.img

Actually, there IS an odd bug with some scripted objects misplacement when using the ColAccel.

 

On completed story the broken Roman's cab garage doesn't appear, instead we see the just a normal model:

Also looks like the broken model "overlay" gets misplaced to Charge Island (showing up only in some viewing angles, look only where I was looking on the screenshot)

and it's unsolid:

Without ColAccel it's OK and nothing appears on that island.

Maybe there are more such bugs on the map but it's the only one I've noticed.

My game is completely vanilla, just using the FusionFix.asi to limit fps without additional fixes. Version 1.0.8.0

 

It's reproducible: delete the ColCache.dat file, launch the completed game (or the save after the cab office was broken), drive to cab office - you'll see it broken, exit the game.

Load the game again, it will use ColCache.dat this time. Drive to the cab office - you'll see it's normal, then go to Charge island and you'll see broken unsolid cab office model in the ground
