Some of them are good, some are terrible. Even some Rockstar verified ones are really sh*t and look like they've been made by a two year old. I'm not sure if I like it or not, it depends on my mood really. Usually if I play a user created one by accident I vote honestly, if it's bad, dislike, good, like etc. But I have a very few which I enjoy. The Prison Thugz fight one is good, where your in the prison and you have to beat other players down with melee. It's fun because you are melee fighting. The melee animations in this game are so crappy and the lag is usually so bad, all you end up doing is the run-up punch over and over. The team with the most people that stay together in the melee matches ALWAYS dominate as well. I agree that the user created content usually blows, but if you want to play unarmed or melee play Tekken, Soul Caibur or DBZ. They are soooooo much better than GTA's unarmed/melee mechanic. I'm sick and tired of trying to find a deathmatch other than Prison Thugz Fight. Makes me want to pull my car into a goddamn bridge abutment. It'd be nice to have an "empty canvas" DLC, like Halo Reach's Forge World. I wish there was a comment window that would popup the first time after you played someone's stuff for editing purposes. I Land so much times on it when searching races, this is incredible... But on forums, no one seems to like it. Weird... Did I say weird ? Seriously. I start to wonder if people don't want to show that they secretely like this track. It's like TV, in France. If you ask anybody on the streets, they'll tell you that their favorite channel is "Arte" (the smart one you know, with lot of things that make you use your brain). But when you see the audience stats, this is clear that Arte is far from being the first. I don't know. Anyway I trully believe that this track is pure garbage. And most of user created tracks are garbage too. But, we have to admit that a lot of players like them. It shows on the voting screen you know. And the fact that some of them have been verified by R* seems to prove it. "Jump and die" has been verified by R*, even if, for any reason, you don't want to play that f*cking race sh*t and leave the f*cking lobby, the nude motherf*cking bastards murder you because you land in the middle of their f*cking camp. Such a shame that they don't seem to fully test them out, because it is quite clear that some of the user content I've played has had 10x more attention given to it that some of the utter sh*te that is verified. lew3112 Posted January 20, 2014 Share Posted January 20, 2014 I played Jumps Jumps Jumps for the first time with five other people. 2 squeakers with chradders, me in my Vacca, and 3 others. On the very first jump over the buses, the chradders tried to ram two guys in front of me. They missed, hit each other, bounced across the top of the buses and exploded, taking out one of the other guys in the fireball, and caused permanent damage to my ears. Both of them left. Jumps Jumps Jumps immediately gets my respect as the chradder destroyer. Still a sh*t track, but every time I go over that jump I hear the screams of the squeakers in my mind. So the verified jobs(which are disgusting) can be thought as mainstream music that you hear on the radio. While those of us here with common sense can see most verified jobs are idiotic, the masses still flock to them, just like they listen to their mainstream music. And why does this happen? I'm not sure, but it's most likely due to two reasons. One, they're lazy and don't want to manually look through user content on their own or two, they're stupid/ignorant and don't know how to do anything and just accept what they're given. However with this said, there is a lot of great user content, just like there is still great music in the current era. You just have to search for it. Many players spend hours fine-tuning their content but don't get the proper recognition for it. This kind of user content is fun and enjoyable but not as popular as the verified jobs obviously. So overall to answer op's question, I feel user created content is awesome. I try many new dms and races, and bookmark the ones I like so I never have any issue with created content.
