Anyone else have problems with Trash Talk?

I have had this happened a few nights ago and it didn't feel good seeing failed on my screen.

Always happen if it's not the host that kills the crew boss. If anyone else takes him out in the Buzzard with missiles it's mission failed.

 

This has been around since game began I believe and probably will always exist...

I played this mission a bunch over the last two weeks and here is what I've observed:

 

If you are solo, there won't be a glitch no matter how you kill the crew boss

If you are not solo, and the crew boss is killed with a vehicle's missile then there is a strong chance it will fail

If you are not solo, and the crew boss is killed with a vehicle's guns then there is a small chance it will fail

If you are not solo, and the crew boss is killed by any weapon-wheel weapon or gets run over it will not glitch.

I forget the mission, but it's the one where you have to take out different NPCs around the city (best done in a Buzzard).

I got to the last one and it said, "take out the remaining target."

So, I did and got the same message you got, "Mission failed. You took out the last target."

I sat there completely guffawed!

And yes, it happened a couple of times. I was p!ffed!

As for Trash Talk, I've never had a problem with that mission, but that may be because I'm very good at handling trash.

That happens if you take out the final target before you've taken out the first 4(?). Do it in order and you're fine.

My experience of TT is that if you blow the crew boss up with a rocket you're asking for trouble, run him over or shoot him and 7 times out of 10 you'll be alright. Either way it's sloppy work that it hasn't been fixed yet. Lost MC RIP has the same problem but in that one there doesn't seem to be any way to improve your odds.

Have experienced this issue a few times the last couple of weeks.

​Also, Cranking the Volume and Coasting seem to blend into one another every now and then too. I actually prefer the Coasting the Volume myself, makes a more interesting mission. Hope they don't remove them for these issues though, we need more CMs if anything

Don't see the problem. You were clearly instructed to "take them out" - ie accompany them to the theatre, catch a movie together, enjoy a nice meal etc - yet you annihilate them in your death chopper. It's basic comprehension.

 

I'm not entirely unsympathetic. I've enjoyed many an enchanting evening only to be c*ckblocked by an inexplicable - "Mission Failed: Your date found a random slapper's bra in your glove box.". Sort it out, C*ckstar!

Do it in order and you're fine.Nope I've had it happen to me to, it's the mission "on the list" for some reason after the game has told you to take the guy out in the boat, it doesn't register that it's a good target and fails when you kill him. It's completely random and only happens when not doing it solo, I wonder if it's caused by someone having a poor connection? I've failed this mission before when other players get into a helicopter and fire at the boat when taking off.

 

As for trash talk, like everyone else has said do not use rockets, my favourite method is to run him over and finish him off with the hammer or other hand held weapon, since I started doing that have not had the mission glitch out

Right at the end of the mission, it tells you the crew boss is fleeing, take him out. So I kill him and it comes up saying mission failed, you killed the crew boss. Im like ......lolwut? Did it twice in a row....

solo: kill the boss with anything

co-op: do not kill the boss from a Buzzard.

Personally I always use a Hydra for at least the last bit just so I can blow the boss around with jet exhaust until he eventually takes enough impact damage. I'm too lazy to actually get out of the thing.

A pain at the start of the event, but a very popular job and seemed many picked up on this, I told many to shoot him only, many others joined with the same advice too...

 

Glad It wasn't just me, and soon figured that shooting or running the boss over was the way forward...

Or a Savage, or a Hydra.

The rockets will cause a failure and the exploding bullets caused a failure once for me.

 

If a random gets a Pegasus aircraft and you don't know if they know about the glitch and can't ask in time, let them blow up trucks and minions and focus only on getting to that hill with your gun ready and try to shoot the Crew Boss and soon as he spawns before the other guy can rocket him. The Boss spawns in the same spot every time, so just stand a few yards away and blast him to pass the mission.

Don't use lock on missiles or explosives. Annoying glitch but problem solved.

Yes that did happen to me. I thought maybe I didn't kill the crew boss however I did see him blown to smithereens so I didn't know what was going on. I guess now I know it was a glitch.
