Spawned as NPC?

So i was down on the beach checking for the tailgater behind the tennis courts & swapping sessions to get it to spawn...

 

on about my 5th lobby my character jumps into my car (at this stage i thought i accidentally pressed triangle ) i tried to turn right and when the car wouldn't turn i figured the right analogue stick was broken, i swapped controllers and still had no control of the car, i sat the controller down and watched my character proceed to make left and right turns, stopping for traffic lights and following other NPC's around the city. This lasted for about 10 minutes until i changed sessions, once in the new session i regained full control of my character.

 

has anyone else encountered this before?

Yeah it's happened to me. I have a vid on my phone of my character driving an armored police van as if he were an npc.

It happened right after I called Lester to remove my wanted level, I lost my wanted level at the exact moment my character closed the door of the van and he continued to drive down the highway for a good 20 minutes until some jackhole came along and ruined it.

Happened to me once. I started laughing. I guess she got tired of me telling her what to do and left.

I found an online player pretending to be a hiker once. I killed him a few times and he was still the same until he left.

I have no idea how to replicate this, unlike the post above i didn't call Lester, but i did have a wanted lvl, so that is the common denominator.

I would love to see this happen. Not in a public session, tho - would suck to watch your character slowly cruise to their death... lol

Sometimes when I join a free-roam my car starts to drive itself but I can always regain control just by using the controller.

before online was released, this would happen to me occasionally when i would switch between michael and franklin, i would be driving as frank, then switch to mike to see if he had any side quests/missions, if not i'd switch back real fast and sometimes i wouldn't have any control over frank (or mike if i switched back fast enough) and they would carry on as if i weren't there

Lol this happened to me before It was funny as hell

I stole a riot van from the cops and call lester then my character went on AI mode

Pretty sure it's this. Tis fairly common for spirits to use a non-living 'vessel' as a 'temporary home' prior to possession of a living entity.

 

Watch Insidious 1 and 2 it will teach you a lot.

Never happened to me but I'm not surprised.. there are a lot of weird bugs in this game.
