InfernoV
Love gta v but honestly the map is kind of boring, just big mountains with nothing new to see! I have been playing red dead since release and found an area in the game I have never seen before only last week!! COME ON RED DEAD 3 Btw night time in gta v is horrible, no atmosphere at all! Still loving gta v though (still play rdr more though!) BarelyLegal

Dope_0110
In RDR you must walk or use horses, and it's landlocked so you don't quite know where it ends so you may not push to the end of each canyon every time to see if it really is the ends. In GTA you have planes to easily see the whole map, and know that everything is within reach. Huge difference. cholesterol, iainspad, Lowi and 1 other
GoldenBlade
Did you lower your brightness? Night is much better if you do.Now, this is very true. I just tried it, and it actually feels like nighttime in real life. Cruising around in the darkness is quite fun, too.

killahmatic
Love gta v but honestly the map is kind of boring, just big mountains with nothing new to see! I have been playing red dead since release and found an area in the game I have never seen before only last week!! I love RDR. It's one of the best games ever released. I like the outdoors in real life so having a game with that much detail was amazing. With that being said, V has way more to explore and offer than RDR, by far. Most of RDR is nothing but empty land, which I have no problem with, its fun riding from town to town, but you're fooling yourself if you think there was more to see in RDR than there is in V, it just takes longer to explore because you're on horseback rather than in a car or airplane. Btw, You having not found an area on RDR until last week has nothing to do with how much is in the game, you were just slow on finding it. I had the entire map memorized fairly quick and don't even have the gps turned on anymore. ric4rd094
Yeah I must admit with the brightness thing. Firt time I started the game I was ok, but just after 5 minutes I checked option, and default brightness is preety high (even if it's in the middle). So yeah, lower your brightness with the R* logo and it will be fine
ten-a-penny
just make your own fun..... GTA is about Imagination. in SA I imagine myself being Tenpenny and go rampages with the Ballas, in IV I imagine myself being Johnny from the french SOS Croco cartoon show. in V and Online I imagine myself being in-game and fool around (playing as Franklin in V adds to the feeling) so just use your fantasy in the game. Fuzzknuckles
just make your own fun..... GTA is about Imagination. This. Even when I was deeply engrossed in missions in my first play through, I still found time to ride a BMX from the beach to the top of the map, to see how long it would take. Answer: a long time. Now that I'm at 95ish%, I find it really hard to concentrate on the last few things I need to clear up, I end up wandering off on some exploration trip or just generally being distracted by the stuff in the world. I've wandered for hours and hours and not really done a thing. It's glorious. It was only a couple of weeks back that I found the occupy camp in the North. Completely didn't notice it before. Had I been more attentive to the side missions, I'd have been there for one of the bail bond missions much, much sooner. Signatures are dumb anyway. I as super excited and it was such a let down it was pretty but only shark and generic fish? what about eel's, dolphins, turtles, squids ect. and things to find like wrecked ships stuff like that. maybe even like a some kinda seamonster far out in the sea something jesus.. ten-a-penny
its really fun driving the Bati down the mountains. sad, my mother is using the TV now. so I can't play GTA V now (since for no reason, stupid PS3 doesn't want to connect to the internet. and I have to take it to the other TV so I can play Online. and my mother came now to watch TV. too hard to bring my PS3 back to my room) EDIT: what about eel's, dolphins, turtles, squids ect. and things to find like wrecked ships stuff like that. maybe even like a some kinda seamonster far out in the sea something jesus.. I think I saw a Turtle once. maybe my imaginations. also, there IS wrecked ships around. if my memory helps, I saw two fallen planes.....never felt hurt in a game like that that plane was completely destroyed, the wing PARTS were all around the seabed, the engine was almost completely destroyed, the main body was separated into four parts or so. maybe two planes crashed in the same time, or one heavily destroyed FlyUs plane. as for ships, I haven't been around underwater much. I think I saw two ships around. one near the said plane crash, another in a video far away northeast. may not be sure althougher. lol232
There's a whole load to do, I 100%'d this game an I might do it again. ten-a-penny
yeah its my first Online game that I can progress in. unlike GTA SA's MTA SA PC mod. which is a whole rampage! (funny as how albeit the mod itself is a war/deathmatch multiplayer with more than 50 player per server, only the new people who gets in will be in the line of fire. once you're away, no one ever attack you. while GTA Online, tanks are everywhere.....) StuartStuff
I've not completed the game yet, but I don't believe for a second that i'll be bored once I do. I think i'm upto around 83%, there are still areas of the map i've not uncovered - but having said that, i've explored those online instead I'm sure you could make more fun and discover more things if you try hard enough. PkUnzipper
NIght time at Del Pero pier and Vespucci beach is one of my favorite nights in a game. Agree with the OP. RDR was always kept fresh because of the limitations of perspective from being on horse back. But it also seemed to have a lot more random events. Add the hunting mini game & AI bounty hunting to this and RDR was always interesting. Exact opposite in GTAO were most of the conflict is centered on PvP instead of against the AI in FM. R* needs to increase the variety of random events besides gang warfares and robbing armored truck events. The first has become stale and the second doesn't occur enough. Riding the ferris wheel at night in SP had the best photo ops you could take in the game. I just wish there was more immersive/fun we could do on the map (like back in SA). Especially in areas like the pier. Stuff like: * add a WORKING SA style casino to the desert area FFS. * make all of the amusement rides functional on the beach pier so you can go hang out/ride them with your friends. * Add Bully style amusement park mini games in a future DLC. Basically add ALL the arcade mini games that were in that game. Your char (Jimmy) could literally play these and win money and prizes. That would be a nice change of pace in making a little bit on money in FM next to PvP. * make all of the video games on the Broadwalk functional like in GTA IV * add a 2nd smoke on the Water weed clinic on the pier and make it functional. You should be able to buy drugs/weed to give health boost and get high * make at least 10% of the fake store fronts on the pier interactive with a convenience store menu (since 99% of the stores lack interiors). But you would be able to buy different things (scuba gear, underwater weapons like harpoons etc) * add random spawns of underwater collectibles like in SP. You should be able to buy a tracker from a store at the pier, rent a sub or rubber dinghy from the same store (or have your own delivered by Pegasus) and hunt for nuke waste, sub parts etc. which you can sell for cash. * add a surfing/wind sailing shop to the pier and surfing animations for the water. We should be able to do this or at least wind sail by now * Add a fish and bait/tackle store to the pier and fish/sharks to ocean. So the waterfront would have another real attraction next to walking under water FFS. Buy now, we should at least be able to buy fricking fishing poles and bait. Then call up Pegasus to deliver our yacht so your char can fish in a fishing mini challenge (similar to the hunting mini game). To make money, your char would have to drop the fish caught at the fish shop on the pier. Or keep the fish to eat as food later... * make at least 10% of the existing fake storefronts have markers where you can interact and actually buy the food that store is supposed to sell. That Mexican taco stand on the pier is a good example of a place your char should be able to eat/hangout. Or regain health during FM shoot outs or while on missions etc. * make the stores on the pier hold regular hours. So they would open/close like from 10am to 11pm daily etc. These would work the way the vendor stores were highly customized back in Saint's Row I & 2. e.g. if you drove to the University campus district in Stillwater, you could only buy college associated clothes. If you went to the industrial areas, you could only buy punk rock/grunge clothing etc etc. So if you visit the pier in GTAO, you should only be able to buy beach bum wear DLC, scuba gear, fishing poles etc etc. The list of omitted content in GTAO is endless. So much missed potential. Edited January 21, 2014 by PkUnzipper sqre
Bozzah
I actually experienced the opposite... I like how they implemented the superficiality of L.A... The way people talk, the way people dress... all those clichés (beach, rednecks, gangsters) It may appear stupid for some of you, but I love it, it's an awesome parody. There are quite a lot of easter eggs, I don't know what else you would want to discover... More of them would make them noticable too easily. Algonquin Assassin
I find making my own fun is better than sticking to R*s structured activities. I've always wanted to destroy things with the bulldozer so the other day that's what I done and honestly I had more fun than any of the activities which are kind of weak IMO. Sometimes thinking outside of the square can yield hours of entertainment. Osho
