Hah. Mass Effect micro transactions were a bigger f*cking rip off than shark cards.

 

Yeah f*cking right. Takes me 2 game sessions to buy a Mass Effect pack. How long does it take you to make 1.25 million GTA$? Then how long does it take you to lose or spend that money. Because as far as I know, my characters I've unlocked are forever.

 

 

It isn't a micro-transaction if you are using in-game currency as opposed to real money. Get your sh*t straight.

 

I was at 250k after the wipe, now at over 1 mil earned legit and I've barely played. Will last me for as long as I want it to as well.

Who needs em when R* give you a huge 2000 for being a good sport. Every 6 hours.

It's way less than that. I'd say ever hour to two hours at least. At least it's more than minimum wage.

 

I bought the White Shark Card — just as personal assurance. I don't like going below a certain point but now I have $5.1million; however I feel I've lost as sense of challenge since all I've done is chase people with a buzzard and done bounty hunting (I'm the dog, the big, bad dooggg...).

 

Time to get Tanked? Suggestions?

I'm saying, it takes me 2 games to buy a Mass Effect pack (if I didn't want to spend the money), but with GTAOnline you'll be grinding for hours if you don't want to buy the pack. That is the difference between those 2 games, they both have micro-transaction packs but the way you would legitimately obtain them is different (and takes less time in Mass Effect), so no Mass Effect transactions weren't a "bigger rip-off then cash cards".

They are a bigger rip off by virtue of being inherently luck dependent. Want a Volus Adept? Unless you are incredibly lucky, you are going to be shelling out a lot more money than the initial price tag just to get what you want. Personally, I would much rather pay more upfront to get the thing I want, then take the cheaper luck dependent route that can and will likely end up being more expensive in most cases.

 

Nearly as bad as FIFA Ultimate team packs.

They are both sh*t. Microtransactions period is bad for gaming. I still think you have a point where you said it's dependent on luck, but I personally prefer Mass Effect (since you get more and don't really lose your purchase), where in GTAO yeah you get money but that can easily be lost or just spent too fast.

 

They are both great games, with bad company habits. Lets just leave it at that

Got 50$ in Xbox money for Xmas to spend on shark cards. Took a billion dollar bounty on Xmas eve and bought everything Xmas day. My 50$ is now dlc money. Bring on NORTH YANKTON DLC and the new radio stations!

No. Because there is absolutely zero incentive to buy a cash card, or even save money for that matter, when at any given moment hackers can (and will) figure out a way around Rockstar's measures and we'll be back in the same boat with money eveywhere. I'd like some kind of reassurance from Rockstar that under no circumstances will money ever again be reset before I'd even think about it. Fool me once, shame on you...
