Ahhh. The battle-cry of the auto-aimers. You do understand that when you accuse someone of a logical misstep you need to point out the fallacy that I have created? Do you see the irony in attacking my supposed false argument without any argument of your own?

 

 

It should be obvious that making the jump from auto-aim to "game does everything for you" is a strawman. It would like positing that because you like free-aim, you would also enjoy having to utilise QWOP style mechanics to walk around.

I didn't use that as an argument for auto-aim being a commercial decision by Rockstar though. I just said SOME people would do it. Which they would.

 

My point in saying this was that if you give people a leg-up, however over-the-top or ridiculous, SOMEONE, not EVERYONE, would use it.

I choose to play AA because I don't focus on the combat side. I am a driver. I don't avoid combat, but when I do need to shoot I like to hit my target.

 

 

I just gotta say. Driving is harder then shooting. If you can drive well you can shoot well too.

 

I mean, how would you feel if they added auto drive where the game drives itself and adjusts its speeds and makes turns ? Because some people when they drive don't like to crash just like when you shoot you don't wan't to miss

 

R* should never have added to AA to online games. Its a total joke... And defending the use of the aim bot is even more laughable considering its not that hard.

If they put in a drive assist, which some games do have) I wouldnt use it, but i wouldnt care if others did if they were in seperated sessions. Frankly, I would actually suggest it because an awful lot of players cant drive for sh*t and it would improve the quality of the game for them.

All I know is that there are two instances in AA sessions where you are forced to use FA and I avoid both because I am horible at them. Sniping against another sniper I will die long before I can get a bead on the opponent. Shooting from a car I will go through a whole clip just trying to line up...then when im out i finally target him but die while reloading. I struggle to even hit the back of a bank truck with a sticky. If I am against a player on foot i will get out of my car every time just to engage.

 

Call it what you want but AA is the only way I can play.

Since R* increased RP payouts for those using FreeAim i think its pretty balanced...

 

AA is there for those who dont shoot so well, they are limited to only sessions with other AA users... for those using FA theres a better RP payout reflecting the icnreased skill required to use FA over AA... FA and AA never mix so i dont really see why there so much bitching between the two camps... you use different servers/lobbies so an FA user is never gonna get bettered by and AA user in session.

 

personally i lose track of wether im using AA or FA these days as i mianly race and often with people using different targetting modes... i think i switched something like 7 times the other night and actually had to ask which aim setting the host was using at one point so i knew wether i would autolock onto the sentinel dude or have to put some effort in when the race was finished... needless to say it was FA and i still got the f*cker with a sniper rifle as he was driving away.. Mo - 1 Sentinal dude - splattered on his dashboard...

I had three members of a crew last night spawn kill me while in a transport van. Not fun when you run out of explosives.

It was a compliment. it was also meant as way to motivate you to see past AA.

 

You struggle with using sticky bomb on the back of a truck? Well, did you know if you drive up close bumper to bumper its an easy toss and you can't miss? And honestly, just like driving, you only get better the more you do it.

 

The best part about Free Aim is everyone misses like you. Sooner or later they hit the target and eventually get better but still have their off days. Just like racing at fast speeds.

 

Most of the players in free aim can't drive or shoot. But atleast they fail on their own accord.

Srry I dont know about the payout but its 1.5x at hard then u take + 25% of that and u have the payout i think .

Seeing as driveby is almost completely neutralised by autoaim, doesn't the whole concept of it, go against the name of the game, Grand Theft AUTO? Maybe they should add -aim to the end of the title, because quite frankly it makes autos useless in autoaim lobbies.

Free roam is always filled. Infact its easy to find filled FA free roams. Thats not a problem. Its the races and death match that can be hard to find.
