Free aim is worth it

You have been around the forum long time but created a new account to tell everyone to try freeaim. Would it not be more likely we would listen to a regular that a complete nub? Or do you know that your regular has a reputation for being an asshat no one will listen to?

 

Whenever I hear someone toutimg the benefits of a free aim choice all I hear is please switch because our lobbies are all empty and we need people to play with.

Try joining a free aim lobby and you'll find plenty to choose from.

Free Aim and Auto Aim players don't play in the same lobby as one another so I don't understand why one is trying to force the other to do what they're doing. It's like you're preaching your own religion. It's getting stupid now.

If i could use my quota of likes on this post I would.

I choose to play AA because I don't focus on the combat side. I am a driver. I don't avoid combat, but when I do need to shoot I like to hit my target. The single player defaulted to assisted and that is what I used. I am happy with my choice. I don't need to persuade anyone to use it.

 

I like the fact that while in an AA server I have the option of using either AA or FA. I do not believe that is possible in FA is it? Might that be the possible proof that some seek of which one Rockstar deemed to be more or less skilled?

 

It would be pointless to allow auto-aim in free-aim lobbies. They would stop being free-aim lobbies!Exactly...Im not even sure which side I am thowing a bone to here but consider say, a bowling tourney...you have pro players and you have rookie or recreational players...one is allowed into the others tourney...but not vice versa. I dont need to go look for myself (which i have done on accident as a side note...joining a friends race had me in FA all night without knowing because I was racing...it was much harder to fill my race lobbies) I only need to notice how often it is said in these forums. It seems to be common knowledge...though I am sure it got somewhat better after the Rp increase.

I think the point of the thread originally wasn't to insult auto-aimers or try to force an opinion on anybody. It was to try to encourage people who have never tried free aim to give it a go. If they don't want to, or find they don't like it, fair enough, but some may find they get more out of the game because of it.

I gotta agree with OP. In AA lobbies, no skill is needed at all. You just wait behind a wall, as soon as you see your target, hold the aim button, aim up a little big as you tap the aim button, then boom, easy headshot. After all of that got redundant, I tried FA lobbies. It was a little tricky at first, but now I get a better experience. I find myself having to be smarter. I have to go cover to cover whilst running and gunning on my way to a different cover. Hell, I even use tactical grenades now.shootouts are much more intense. I enjoy FA more.

OP was simply telling you guys you get more RP and money for using free-aim. They asked you to give it a try and said you might like it. I like to use it because I don't feel like a no talent assclown and you'll probably get domed quicker than me autolocking and moving my right stick up.

If you look at OP original post and all his replies, he's actually really nice and simply suggesting to try it for those that didn't. Then all the Free Aim guys came in and became PC elitists all over again. Remember those? I've posted twice or so in here and I'll say it again: Free Aim for players, Auto Aim for missions/AI. That's my idea for aiming.

We're all playing the same game and whether you aim by yourself or need a little help from the game mechanics, I'll gladly play with you.

I don`t see how this is different. As soon as I see an enemy I take a shot. Any unskilled played will go down as I am sure is the same for you...however, a skilled player will roll out of the lock and try to shoot back...to which I would also roll and move to a new cover. I might throw a grenade to force him out of his cover and as I stood he tried to shoot and again we are both changing cover. Only he didnt notice the additional toss of a sticky i did before the roll towards the cover I estimated he would move to. Boom. I win.

As you might see it CAN take just as much skill to fight in AA as it does in FA. It is mostly a matter of your opponents skill.

If I can add, I think R* should bring back Friendly mode from RDR/GTA 4. Friendly Fire off. Explosives don't kill but fall damage does so you can blow people up like crazy for stunts and giggles. It would be so popular.

Every single one I managed to persuade to try Free-aim ended up being happier and way more satisfied with the gameplay experience. They never turned back to Assisted aiming.

It's a commercial decision by Rockstar so that the game's more accessible. The fact that no other MP game has auto-aim shows you the kind of game this is. And the fact that auto-aimers think people who advocate AIMING FOR YOURSELF IN A SHOOTING GAME is elitist shows the type of player this game attracts.

I just gotta say. Driving is harder then shooting. If you can drive well you can shoot well too.

It should be obvious that making the jump from auto-aim to "game does everything for you" is a strawman. It would like positing that because you like free-aim, you would also enjoy having to utilise QWOP style mechanics to walk around.

The problem is you confuse free roam with skill. Its free roam. Theres no rules unless you agree with said players.

 

Also... It does take skill to shoot in a car. Infact its harder in a fast moving car.

 

The whole get out of you car and approach them with a pistol maybe your thing. But don't think others players agree or even care about free roam hostiles. If you want pistols only then play a death match with pistols only. Free Roam is just a free for all.
