Why exactly is the Asea so rare?

Has anyone ever wondered this? It's such a mundane car yet is only obtainable once in GTA Online. I know no one will have a definite answer but people might have ideas, so what do people think? What compelled R* to make this little car so rare?

Though I do not know the real answer, I can only assume that it is the only unique car with stickers on it when compared to the rest.

It's only obtainable through the tutorial.

No idea why though.

The stickers are pretty corny.

Surprising really. I see more Z-Types than Aseas, and there are apparently only 10 Z-Types ever made

It's rare because it has the sticker bomb and it's only obtainable through modding it in or the first race with Lamar.

OP wants to know why R* doesn't make it that it spawns online.

He knows why it's rare, just not...WHY it's rare :turn:

Obscurity.

They knew no one would want to keep it(ya know, at the beginning, with many cooler cars all around you on the streets).. So naturally, many people will abandon it(making it all the more rare).

But once the community finds out that the car only spawns/shows up one time, has a cool looking, unique stickerbomb decal mod, it becomes a must have, for the "rare-collectors".

Although i own one thanks to a busy lvl 3 spending too much time in Binco picking out his 1st outfit, i think the Obey Tailgater and the Declasse Premier are "better" "rare" sedans.

1.08 changed the spawn rates of many vehicles… I saw a black Asea parked on the street on a solo session the other day. But it was after I made a new character, not sure if this has anything to do with it...

I still got mine by winning the tutorial race but perhaps it does spawn online now.

In that case I agree with Earthboundmysfit.

I remember you saying you liked the Asea when I said it was useless.

It is likely an oversight. In the same way Molotovs are in the game but unobtainable without Ammo Drops.

I was probably over-obsessed with its rareness at the time. Now though it can be easily brought in by someone with the SP to MP glitch. I have one in my second garage with a plate that says STICKERZ but I never use it. The handling on it is god awful.

It's easily overlooked in tutorial. It's a dinky sedan, and there's tons of cars where the stock looks better than Asea's.

They gave it all the cool stuff and made it not spawn so that people actually want the darn thing.

That's my opinion.

The handling is awful? How? It is the best car for drifting. Try it.

There are two types of cornering:

1. Forza/Gran Turismo - slow brake when entering, light gas, ease off on the turn.

2. NFS/Burnout - Slide through the corner like the cool guy you are.

Generally, 1 hates 2, and 2 hates 1. People under 1 would hate drifty cars, meaning.
