We are sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with GTA Online. If your recently purchased GTA$ from PSN but the GTA$ have not been credited to your in-game character, please re-start your console. We've seen some users correct this by re-starting their console.

If this has not worked, can you please provide us with the following pieces of information, so we can investigate this further.n:

 

-Console/Platform (Xbox 360/PS3):

-RGSC Name:

-PSN/360 Name:

-The amount of GTA$ lost that was purchased with Shark Cards

-Date of this occurrence:

 

Screenshots or Pictures of your purchase history -On PS3 a. Power on your PS3 b. From the XMB, go to Playstation Network c. Highlight Account Management, press X d. Scroll down to Transaction Management, press X e. Select the date range to search your transactions. Please ensure to search all relevant dates to the issue. f. Find the date of the Virtual Currency purchase, press X to get more details g. Take Screenshots of Pictures of the Virtual Currency purchase h. Repeat process for all relevant dates to the issue. i. Attach them to this email/ticket

-On Xbox 360

a. Log on to your account at www.xbox.com

b. Click on My Account in the upper right corner

c. Click on Billing History on the left of the page

d. Click on View Transactions

e. Take Screenshots or Pictures of all Virtual Currency purchases from the Transactions List

f. Attach them to this email/ticket

 

Once we have this information we will research your issue and get back with you when we reach a resolution.

Well it was kinda impossible for R* to tell which players had legitimate money or not so maybe they'll fix this issue over time. Screen cap your purchase of the cash cards via PSN or Xbox Live Marketplace and send it to R* for proof.

It's not fraud actually. Fraud is if the did it on purpose on the intention of defrauding people. Instead they resolved a hacking issue and will gladly give people in game money back. Interesting thing is the largest shark card is 1.25 million so why would someone buy two?

 

Also, even if you do win, you would only be given a few million of in game money, you would not get any cash money.

 

Plus you still got the costs of ya lawyers. People think the other side pays if you win which is the biggest load of crap ever. Rockstar can also just keep it in the courtroom, sending you broke in the mean time in real life for what? $2 million of in game currency.

I understand how you may think that but separating the players who had bought cash cards(and the ones who earned through missions and structured activities) to those who got it from hacked money is kinda intolerable. We're talking millions of players here and that would be hard for R* to deal with.

Ok so heres the tale, I was one of those `gifted` money by the hackers, not much compared to some about 23 million dollars in all. I havnt had much playtime over the last few weeks so have barely been on to spend any money anyway, I estimate Ive spent about maybe 500k of that 23 million.

 

Now before anybody whines, I EXPECTED to lose that money, this is not what this post is about, see the problem is I also had about 2 million dollars worth of money left over id bought using cash-cards with my own rl funds.(I dont have time or can be arsed to spend ages trying to glitch a video game)......

 

And now the real issue presents, rockstar WIPED my bank account,. they didnt just take the 23 mil id recieved, not even 23.5 mil for the money of the hacked currecy id spent, they took EVERYTHING even the money id legitimately paid for.

 

Now is this not fraud? selling someone something then taking it away from them for no good reason? Ive contacted rs support but id be interested to hear if this issue has affected anyone else as if the outcome of my support request is not favourable then I intend to see what recourse I have legally, after all its only a game but rl money is more then just a game and fraud is fraud. I dont care if it was a system error, that was currency id paid for perfectly legally and rockstar had no legal right to take off of me.

 

so yes, anyone else had issues with money theyd actully paid for being taken on top of the hacked funds? Seems they better sort out the system if its indeed making this mistakes as they might be hit with a great big legal kick in the balls otherwise.

100% correct. It's called a contract. It applies under contract law. Open up your instruction book. In the back pages will be terms and conditions and that by playing the gam you accept them and instructions where to read them. So just installing game means your accepted their terms.

It tells me that they don't/can't track legit money (especially cash card money) properly.

You don't have to screen cap anything you contact your bank for transaction history and sony or microsoft have your transaction history as well.

To be fair, the amount of times R* has been in court they probably know how to cover their ass in any situation so I wouldn't be surprised if what they did was legal. Sure, you lost real money but I doubt you only spent 500K of 23 million dollars. You didn't go crazy and buy anything you want? Guns, cars, apartment? I think you're hiding a part of this story. You probably spent more than 500K and thus probably used your ''paid'' amount of money in hacked money, meaning you sort of used your real money via hacked money...so it's fair.

You do realize the TC's you agree to are written by lawyers and the fine print is there for one reason and one reason only to protect them against lawsuits.

 

The OP sounds like a little kid who is ignorant to the real world. He is on here bitching because he cheated in one way or the other and now that they took real money from him he is mad. If what he was saying was true then he would have been left with something but since he broke the rules he got nothing.

 

Go ahead and sue rockstar. The first fifteen minutes you spend with a lawyer will cost more than your cash cards and he will probably charge you for a few more hours then tell you that you have no case and give you a bill.

 

If the OP's story was 100% legit then he would still have his money. A guy I play with was gifted money when he already had a few million and unlike just about everyone else (myself included) he didn't go nuts and buy everything and when the money got reset and most of us got 500k he was left with the couple million he had to begin with. Unlike the OP he didn't spend more than what he originally had and he didn't cheat.

I want to update on the cash card money return. My friend got his cash card money back after contacting Rockstar support. He sent them the email reciept of purchase and notified that he also got hacked gifted money the same day.

 

Normally, he wouldn't get it back since he already spend more than he should, though it seems they cut him some slack. Plus, he didn't do the car glitch nor the RP on both of his characters.

 

Anyway, I'm sure Rockstar will do the same for you, so I believe you have nothing to worry about and will redeem your cash card.

 

Edit: I didn't bother contacting Rockstar support to redeem my actual legit cash, like around 2 million, since I already spend more than I should. Right now, I am very happy with my two car apartment and little cash for ammo. Gathering cash fairly from armored cash, bounties and even doing missions felt great for me.
