Ok so heres the tale, I was one of those `gifted` money by the hackers, not much compared to some about 23 million dollars in all. I havnt had much playtime over the last few weeks so have barely been on to spend any money anyway, I estimate Ive spent about maybe 500k of that 23 million.

Now before anybody whines, I EXPECTED to lose that money, this is not what this post is about, see the problem is I also had about 2 million dollars worth of money left over id bought using cash-cards with my own rl funds.(I dont have time or can be arsed to spend ages trying to glitch a video game)......

And now the real issue presents, rockstar WIPED my bank account,. they didnt just take the 23 mil id recieved, not even 23.5 mil for the money of the hacked currecy id spent, they took EVERYTHING even the money id legitimately paid for.

Now is this not fraud? selling someone something then taking it away from them for no good reason? Ive contacted rs support but id be interested to hear if this issue has affected anyone else as if the outcome of my support request is not favourable then I intend to see what recourse I have legally, after all its only a game but rl money is more then just a game and fraud is fraud. I dont care if it was a system error, that was currency id paid for perfectly legally and rockstar had no legal right to take off of me.

so yes, anyone else had issues with money theyd actully paid for being taken on top of the hacked funds? Seems they better sort out the system if its indeed making this mistakes as they might be hit with a great big legal kick in the balls otherwise.

They'll fix cash cards but that's it and you have to prove it with screen shots

 

I was f*cked out of my fortune by this whole situation too. I had millions long before this hacking epidemic and they left with me 50 thou

And before coming here to write an angry post, did you even bother to contact their support regarding the problem? You might find that 1) They can check records regarding purchase of cash cards and 2) be willing to help!

Well it was kinda impossible for R* to tell which players had legitimate money or not so maybe they'll fix this issue over time. Screen cap your purchase of the cash cards via PSN or Xbox Live Marketplace and send it to R* for proof.

Here's my guess at what you can do since you spent real money...

 

Look up your transactions and get a snapshot of the cashcard purchase like stated above. Then send this to Rockstar support and tell them the wipe has removed this money. No matter what anyone else says, Rockstar is likely to deposit some money into your account. I say this because they gave some people refunds for their Ratloaders which shows they do respond to these tickets.

See I dont see it like that. if they want to take something ive paid for the onus is on them to prove they had a reason to do so, if they dont then its called theft.

You know when you accept the terms and conditions they cover their asses by saying that you can't sue them if your account gets a wiped? But you should be able to get your money back via support

Not good enough for me, if they dont a.give me my money back or b.refund my real life money used in the transactions I will be taking legal action. its the principal of the thing if a company wants to sell goods or services even virtually using real life currency then they are bound by consumer laws as with anything else.

Did you ever use any RP exploits? If so then you don't deserve to get your refund, just saying. I mean you can't expect to get one when you break R*s terms of agreement by using RP exploits. I swear I remember a post you made about using these exploits so you're not getting any refunds buddy, might as well let it go

Just for the record OP people that have emailed rockstar and got a response from them after telling them they bought $2mil was reimburced so once the support ticket is answered you will get the cash you dont really need to stress over it

Yeah go ahead and "sue" Rockstar and get your ass tore the hell up in court when they bust out the T&C in fine print and then pay $5000 for your lawyer, all over a $20 cash card.
