I turn my tv down for one reason an one reason only..

Sirens. Who else is tired of hearing these annoying things throughout your session? Since when do police leave their car screaming after getting out? I'm really tired of hearing the noise and having my tv on almost mute because of it. You get in the car to turn the crap off, you end up being killed and your car impounded.

No idea what IRL is? And contact with the police? In game or person? In person, American (or British) police leave their sirens screaming when leaving the car. It is just a game, which is why an update needs to shut these annoying sounds up on parked emergency vehicles.

I've always had chat set to no-one. You do get the occasional screaming kid, so I'm guessing this feature is buggy too considering I shouldn't be hearing ANYBODY talk in game.

Yes, its deathly annoying!!! It seems the sirens run constantly. If the cops arent on your ass, you hear them from around the corner chasing someone else. Im SICK of the sh*t.

Jonesy, have you never watched COPS. Especially when filmed in the Rampart precinct in L.A.? Cops don't stop to shut off gum balls and sirens when doing felony takedowns.

I've watched many cop documentaries and never seen this. It's rare that they jump out and leave the car screaming. Either way, this is a game and in no way should be able to scream throughout my home constantly. Sirens are used only for traffic in reality, and a cop that knows what he's doing would turn the siren off on approach to the crime.

My father ALWAYS complains about this, but I NEVER hear them... Says he can hear the sirens just wailing from across the map, no matter where he is, and he can always find the car, no matter where it is... Guess my headphones just suck? I can only hear the cops if they're within 1 block of me, beyond that, no siren sound.

In most newer siren systems, a remote or dash mounted system is used.

This makes it very easy for the officer to deactivate the sirens upon arrival at the scene.

 

Leaving on the siren impedes the ability for interaction.

No where near as bad as having a police chopper hover over your house/area most nights. It feels like its coming in thru the roof. Wouldnt mind but I definately turned my landing light off before bed ;-P

Feel for the OP tho it drives me mental too. Sometimes it feels like its constantly there, even when you head out to sandy shores it deffo follows or my ears are still ringing from the city lol

I get that sh!t all the time. Sirens wailing while I have no wanted level and am nowhere near any active police. It will keep going even when I'm on a mission. Racing a normal no cops race...sirens. Hovering in the chopper before a parachute jump...sirens. It's an irritating bug for sure that only seems to go off by going SP and back.

 

As for the original point, I just flick the remote switch. I keep it right here on my grenade launcher.

I live on a pretty rough estate that has a forest on the back of our garden's so the police helicopter is forever flying above our house's at least 4 time's a week, majority of the time at night. The first thing that the offender does is make a beeline for the forest hoping to get away.

Most of the time they're chasing kids for no reason. A police car just parked its self under my sandking, I instantly got a star just for getting in my own car which turned into a big chase.
