I just called a mechanic, nothing showed up... Waited for around 1-2 minutes. Called again..

I have to wait 4 minutes.. WHAT?

Or steal a car off the street. This is gta after all. Spoiled newbs.

Then get a 9k NPC bounty and have the whole session hounding you for the rest of eternity.

Kill him every time.

Damn right!!!! He's not doing his job if he's not bringing me my old matte black tank with turbo, my chrome jet, and my chrome riot van w BPT.

Oh the battles we use to have with these!!!

That was the day before all you x-mas noobs!

The closest thing to this ever happening again is R* ever releases a dlc for cop vehicle's and a Pegasus contact for jets.

Follow these steps:

1. Wait 4 minutes.

2. Call for a car.

3. Beat mechanic with a bat.

4. Pour fuel on his body and watch him burn.

5. Drive away (after optional beer and cigarette to celebrate).

Who's noticed the mechanic NPC has several skins? They knew we were going to murder this guy.

Just be patient. Maybe he's occupied with something.

With what?

Picked up a tranny and doing him in my cars! He better not be busy!

1-call a taxi

2- steal another car

3-teleport (look it up)

4-start any mission if you don't start the mission with your car...call the mechanic then...no wait

5-contact rockstar and ask them to do something about it....or did making this post fix your issue?

Maybe he's doing something really important. He cant always deliver cars you know.

For me, it seems like the best time to call a mechanic or a taxi is when you are on a single lane road or in a parking lot.

If you are in the wilderness somewhere or standing on a multiple lane highway, it seems like the game gets confused as to which way the car will be delivered to you.

You can tell when the mechanic is available if you open the interaction menu. As long as you have one car out somewhere on the map, the request personal vehicle option will not be greyed out. It usually tells you that you are not near the road if he can't deliver one.

That fun becomes a annoyance after so long.

He can be an asshole sometimes. One time at the docks, he delivered my car but didn't get out and kept on taking laps around which forcefully made me chase after him on foot for 3 freaking minutes! Until I stumbled upon a car and get him for it. He finally pulled up and had the audacity to say "I warmed it up for you" so I knocked him out, put 5 stickies on him, poured gasoline all over him leaving a trail and ignited it up. After he obliterated, I felt accomplished. Guess who got warmed up now.

Wayne Daniels

Today I asked him to deliver my Sabre, he brought me my Hexer instead. I normally pistol whip him when he is late but today was something special, it called for a good old fashioned ass kicking with my bare hands.

Hey anyone else noticed when you start a fight he has a different accent?

My mechanic always tries to fight me because I shove him when I get in my vehicle. Once he took my off my Akuma after a little shove. Let's just say baseball is his least favourite sport now...

Ahh, mechanic stories...

The other day I was down one of those long alleys between the blocks of houses near Vespucci beach. I thought that as those alleys are more than wide enough to drive a car down, my mechanic would have no problem delivering my motorbike to me where I was standing.

"Sorry, I can't get there right now".

So I walked some way up the alley towards the road.

"Sorry, I can't get there right now".

So I walked further up the alley towards the road.

"Sorry, I can't get there right now".

So I walked nearly all the way towards the road.

"Sorry, I can't get there right now".

So I finally reached the road and called him again.

"I'll bring it right over"

I'm wondering which direction he will come from when, low and behold,..

...he comes from behind me, driving my motorbike all the way up the alley I just walked up.

Needless to say, he died.

tl;dr Mechanic lies about where he can or cannot get to.

If you didn't know, a little trick is look down at the floor while waiting for him. The game doesn't want you to see him spawn in. So if you're looking at the floor he usually spawns straight away near you. Works for me anyway.
