Does nobody enjoy racing?

Every time I host a race, one of three things always happens even if the lobby is jam packed.

 

1.) Nobody joins.

 

2.) One person joins, and then leaves 30 seconds later.

 

3.) I get one or two people to join TOPS.

 

I really enjoy racing in this game, but I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one.

Yeah the matchmaking for this game is terrible. In order to get a full lobby of randoms, you, and the people who join early need to be EXTREMELY patient.

Lots of people still race. Try different tracks/cars. Doing CR or DTD with super cars has ran it's course. Most people still can't drive, though.

I can confirm that nobody does not enjoy racing, for the most part. Nobody enjoys the matchmaking process and nobody enjoy waiting 10 minutes for match to be made.

It's not matchmakings fault if nobody wants to race. It can't force people to want to. But OP, try here.

It helps to have some friends that like to race. Even better when you don't have to deal with rammers and jammers.

I, for one, have never enjoyed racing. It always ends with me about to win and some 12-year-old spinning me out after catching up to me via catchup.

 

Racing with actual good drivers can be fun, though.

7/10 races are jumps jumps jumps.... which f*cking sucks in my opinion. 1/10 is a crappy user created map, and 2/10 are good races, with sh*tty options like not enough laps/catchup on/sports classics/sedans

 

then IN the race, people either dont know how to drive, or are dirty races and crash each other. then the crashee wants revenge, becomes bumper cars, and other races get caught in the mix

I like racing, impromptu racing, but it don't pay, and now everybody is broke, so, never get any takers, shame.

1. Racing is bad money compared to missions for most of the players involved.

2. Players who need unlocks can't compete in custom car races.

3. Long queue times. Expands the problem of issue 1.

 

 

Considering the lousy payouts alone (for everyone but the winner), races are sh*t and only good for either funzies with friends or for trading wins for car unlocks.

If you're talking host races, I guess it's because it's tiring having a Super/Sport race almost all the time.

I got 7 people on my custom race I made today. My favorite one. Match finished about 8 minutes in. 1st Place got around 8,000 RP and $15,312?

I really wanna see the payout when the lobby is full. I love the race, and everyone whom I've gotten to race on the map has enjoyed it.

 

No jumps or anything, just a regular race.

Forza has a ghost mode and adults that play so I use that for my racing fix.

I think racing is fun in this game as long as it isn't a GTA type race and catch-up is turned off.

Yeah I hate catch-up, and often run with customs off to make it an even race so its just up to driver skill.

A lot of people still race... kind of... on "jumps ! jumps ! jumps!"... They should be ashamed to death.

 

I hardly find people on real races. It takes time.

I had a race today, I knew I was in trouble when he turned custom cars on. Race started and he was in some Chrome super car and I had some stock standard super car. Only reason I was in front was because of the boost you get at the start and the him crushing. The guy crush once and I over took him. Got at least two check points ahead before he was back on the course and he caught up to me like I was standing still and passed me and was two check points ahead in seconds.

 

I think custom cars should be stock custom cars.

I love racing but its hard to get people on the tracks i like. I also dont like racing Supers as its usually just a race full of Adders. Most of the CR's are god awful yet thats all that seems to get spammed in the lobbies. Even the half decent CR's are badly implemented with checkpoints in strange places.

My crew stats say we 99.6% of our time is spent racing (this can't include freeroam for the time we spend there!). Suggest you find a crew to race with ?

I did myself 3 races. I think they are good but when I see what players like, I'm disgusted. It doesn't make me wanna do more, or even host them.

I don't like jumps everywhere or traps things, tracks more suited for off road but hosted for supercars... damn...

What I find lame is that racing is divided up into your preferred aim. For example, I play 'Free Aim', and no one joins because majority of GTA V players are probably looking for a casual experience! Lol, you'd have better luck switching your preferred aim to 'Traditional' or 'Aim Assisted' or whatever.

What? Racing offers great money! You just need to find the community out there. Look towards Apex Stalkers and Red Rum Racing to start with. We're racing constantly

Indeed. In the early days, I innocently joined a few races, just to sample the vast variety of activities in GTA0. Bumper cars, as someone said above. Destruction derby. Burnout Paradise without the cool crash physics. And since I can't even win a fair race anyway, its all pretty pointless. But I wanted the Racing Brunette tattoo (win 50 races), plus I need almost as many wins for performance upgrades. Talk about an Everest-like goal

 

Now that I have tediously ground my way up to Level 100, I want to get back to my lifelong goal of winning 50 races. But as the OP says, people don't join all that often. I have been inviting low levels because I figure they need the wins also, and if I find I can beat them, I let them win the second one, so we can trade a couple.

 

Let alone the idea that some races might be actually fun, with good people, win or lose. That's even further out.

 

I am typing this entire reply while waiting in a race lobby with three single-digit invitees, no takers. GTA0....

You gotta keep your rank at a mid ish level to get the best matchmaking.

I noticed that if your over 200 no one ever joins.
