are u profitable/losing money after the cash fix?

My character started with around 520k, i have around 600k now. havent played a ton, and i still keep my ammo/vests replenished. and play as normal (place bountys ect).

 

are you losing $ or gaining?

Gaining, but then again I'm not stupid. It costs about 35k to fill up my ammo so I've been using only the AP pistol on missions. I sell a car an hour and take a ride to Simeon every now and again and hit an armored truck when I see it. I've made 2.2 mil over the amount they gave us...I'm doing fine... and didn't have to fill my garage with adders (you're only gonna keep one...how much is it gonna cost to refill that garage? not directed at anyone in particular)

Profiting. I was left $502,000. Played two days ago and yesterday, got my cash up to $582,775. Did a few missions, races with a crew member, gang attacks, selling cars, Simeon HP vehicle. I don't have to worry as much about ammo because I stocked up every weapon I have fully when I still had modded money, but I definitely watch my ammo closer now.

Its difficult to make a loss. I know a lot of people scream about how expensive ammo is and how hard money is to earn but it really isn't.

 

I did 2 gang attacks killed half a dozen players and ran through 4 or 5 jobs and it cost me less than 2 grand to restock my guns in ammunation. Hell just 1 of the gang attacks more than paid for my evenings ammo

Easily gaining. I've already made 110k from missions since the shutdown.

I'm not planning selling cars or anything like that. Just going to play legit from here on out. Lol

I gained yesterday. Today, not so much. Kinda broke even if anything. Been doing a lot of stupid sh*t in freeroam so I guess that's got to go somewhere. I tried to farm coveted again today, and no can do. I just hate that going down that same f*cking hill, lol.

 

I'm happy though. Got $4.1mil in the bank, and still 6 adders waiting to be sold. And I've yet to buy my monthly cash card, so things are pretty swell really.

Gaining. Decided to sell my Comet for $175,000, did some bounties. Put a bit of money on stickies (i was totally out) and had to re-insure my Sentinel. That put me at about $700,000 after starting at $550,000.

 

I did accidentally blow up a guy's Adder though, so its more like $688,000.

100k in profit, not had many free roam battles though so that could change quite easily. Unlike most on here I have no qualms about buying cash cards if necessary, although I own everything I want and only need fighting money so I'll probably be ok.

Gaining, started with 550,000 went down slightly with buying ammo, did a few missions and deathmatches, went up to 630,000, then bought a new bike, tricked it out, went down to 480,000, now back up to 534,000.

As a member of the 'old broke' I am pleased to see that so many of the nouveau poor are managing to make the necessary lifestyle adjustments. I do note that one or two of you are claiming to have profited despite selling assets - I would caution you to make further alterations to your behaviour or you will struggle...

I swear people on this forum are either the worst players in history or just bitching because thats all they know how to do. All the crying I see about how hard it is to make money and how you have to watch every bullet you fire baffles me. I have never once had the thought that i need to be careful with my ammo or felt forced to cheat or buy cash cards. Its so easy to make around 80k an hour without replaying anything. You get 9k for selling one common car at lsc and thats enough money for ammo for a few hours. Play a 10 minute mission and make double that. Play a survival make 20k and have all the guns in the game and ammo.

despite losing money due to the car insurance bug I've made a profit. Started at $495,000 and now have $1,030,000.00 so not doin to bad hehe.

Only had one serious session since the great purge. I was unnafected since i was never gifted money and play 100% legit. Collected 3x 9k bounties and did some missions and did a survival with a lvl 9 and a lvl 11 then since they were both nice friendly guys i modded them up a car each and finished up modding the last 3 in my garage that needed it. still have around 200k and i know i can easily make 100k an hour without hard grinding. No need for more since my garage is all fully stocked and modded and all weapons that i use have enough ammo for anything i wanna do. It's very easy to have plenty money and be legit tbh. Only way you can really lose money is pointless free roam wars with no end result apart from a small change to K/D ratio lol. I actually feel sorry for people that feel they cant play this game without having millions in the bank. cant be too much fun being that sh*t at an incredibly easy game

In the black, personally, but I can see how that could easily not be the case - a few good Free Roam rampages (ie fights that don't earn you any money) and you'd see your cash drain pretty quickly.

 

I know this is kind of short-term thinking, but the money thing really does limit our playstyle by forcing us to watch every bullet - I'm seeing plenty of people (as someone posted above) saying that they limit their weapon use, and I totally understand why; why use a weapon that will cost you $1K per shot on a mission that's might only earn you $7K? If by some unlucky chance you empty your RPG on that mission, you'll be well in the hole on that job.

 

I've found that it's much, much cheaper to bust out the Tank or Buzzard for missions - $200 to start the mission, $200 for the Tank/Heli. Max profit, but not the most exciting way to play a mission.

 

TL;DR? Miniguns are great. RPG's and Grenade Launchers are great. I would not be profiting if I was using those things as much as I'd like to. The slow cash-flow forces us to be boring.
