Additionally, when people say content, they mean meaningful content. beach bum is a couple new shorts, a sh*tty pistol and a resin of a weapon that we already had.

I

It's interesting to me that people are saying that a lack of new content is why they're drifting away. In the three and bit months since GTA Online went up, we've had the Beach Bum DLC, the capture modes, and the content editor added. In my experience of COD and Battlefield (though less so in the latter) you're lucky to get ANYTHING within the first few months, let alone for free.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't be bored, or you shouldn't move on (especially in the wake of the next gen consoles), because maybe what Rockstar have added isn't enough for you, and that's fine. It just intrigues me as an excuse when compared to other massively popular games.

That said, GTA Online has my attention until Titanfall is released, then i might make the move on myself.

Chine Rising came out for BF4. That was free if you pre-ordered. Its not the fact that other games havent or dont release as much as GTA has, its the fact everyone is playing the sh*t out of the game. I have over 11 days played online already. Thats 264 hours of playtime. Content creator/capture mode is a gimmick to look like they are adding content. Most of the created content sucks ass since the options are limited for creation. Capture mode doesnt interest me either; Campfest 2014.

And new races and deathmatches...

I agree with CorruptedVision, though. Most people feel they've played it to death and are moving on.

The ones who don't understand the concept of work to get money will give up. No loss, they can go play some moronic crap like COD.

I've made 30 million since reset!

Concept undstood and finished what now sir?

I've made 130M since the reset.

Every game experiences drop offs. Its a fact of life. It does seem however, that people just hammered this game to death while plenty of others still play it off and on. I got friends who are still only 70% of the way though story mission. I've got given games for Xmas and my birthday. One i finished, they other about 30% way though so it makes Gta fun when I go back to it.

All I need is the map and 15 randoms. I do have one RL friend who is hardcore... So in 6 years, this game will still have enough interested players to keep me interested.

People are losing interest. The game is boring as hell.

I find myself putting a 2 year old game (Uncharted 3 MP) back into my ps3 daily now instead of GTA. As with other players here, I feel that GTAO had a ton of potential but honestly didn't deliver. There were so many failures over the first few months that it all added up to a sh*tty experience. It's only a couple months old and feels very stale. I only play it if I'm REALLY bored.

If there's a huge decrease in people playing since they've taken all the money away, or people aren't playing as long as they used to, then I can see Rockstar decreasing the price of things and raising up the amount we make in missions.

At the end of the day, Rockstar want an active game, they'll do all they can to keep people playing.

It's logical that as a game ages it's player count decreases. That being said however I haven't really noticed a difference. I play on PS3 and I am always placed in full lobbies.

Yeah, they're the butt-hurt ones that are crying and pouting because R* took their illigitimate money away from them.

Why does it have to be reduced to such a small frame of thinking such as being "butt hurt"?!

To be honest, had R* took away all my funds, AND rank, i wouldnt bother playing either. It would simply be this game no longer have that play value that it did when it dropped, quite frankly i have a REAL LIFE, and dont have the interest to rebuild what i had.

What you dont understand is i was one gifted money, ive experienced GTAO in its glory. I had and bought EVERYTHING there is to buy and own. I switched apts when i felt like it. So, once youve done those things until it was boring, going back grinding (in a world thats been NERFED TO DEATH) JUST to get BACK to the state that ive already exhausted wouldnt and doesnt make much sense...does it?

So, again, its not being butt hurt, its truly NOT CARING enough...at least for me.

However, i turned out good in this ordeal.

People will lose interest over time no matter what. New games come out, something else catches their attention, whatever. Personally, I have played very sparingly after the first month because I had already lost much of the initial interest I started with. The game just doesn't hold my attention for very long. So I don't play too much to avoid losing all interest completely.

But from my perspective of a long time gamer whose played a butt-load of games from every genre, I have to agree with the poster who called GTAO a "jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of-none" type of game. It dips into many types of play and doesn't really pull any of them off particularly well. You can't really quite figure out what GTAO is. The place where it succeeds more than any game I've ever played is free for all mayhem. Yet the game itself strangles that with prohibitive necessary item costs. Having too much fun can cost you; and for a video game that's just silly.

It's not really an MMO, and it's not much of an RPG, yet it has included elements of both without having the elements of either that actually make those genres work. The whole online portion feels to me like R* tried to do too many things, tried to please everyone at the same time, and that just never works. It's no wonder people say it feels like a beta test or that it feels rushed, because it absolutely feels like both most of the time.

And although they've had their hands full and they've fixed many things, the game needs genuine and worthwhile new content. But I feel it needs more than that. The heists will finally come but it won't take too awefully long before those become business as usual as well. And that's assuming R* does a fantastic job on them; and from my point of view that is far from a foregone conclusion.

What I think would benefit GTAO the most is R* to rethink and flush out what already is in the game. Because it truly needs it. Flush out the RPG elements. Find a way to let players choose their criminal specialties. This makes sense when combined with heists and crews. Having differing roles to fill is what makes MMO's and RPG's work. Make leveling matter. It shouldn't be used to lock items away from the player for no logic reason whatsoever. Also they should look more at player feedback on missions and jobs to see what works and what doesn't because there is a lot in every part of the game that could be done a lot better. They said this game would evolve largely based on player feedback and honestly I have seen no evidence of this at all. All I've seen is them do is take action to protect their bottom line; in a few cases to the effect that it actually took options and potential fun away from the game.

Ultimately the game has all the necessary things to be absolutely great but falls hysterically short of it because those who are making the decisions are making them for the wrong reasons. Start using the games huge potential and players will stay interested. And, what matters most to R*, they will pay for it, too.

This latest set of fixes is a breath of fresh air for me, now I can work on leveling up my second character in relative peace. Playing as my second character is probably the only thing keeping me as interested as I am, if I weren't I'd probably be like everyone else on my friends list and waiting for heists while playing other games.

Yeah my friends are usually on Netflix or playing some other game now, ones who were pretty heavy GTA players so the list is getting shorter and shorter.

I've gone back to playing Killzone 3 a bit more, i'm enjoying the challenge since i haven't done online with it and mainly the fact that my connection doesn't f*ck up.

Grinding all of the missions for a few days straight, only to have it taken away is my problem. To have to repeat that process isn't something i look forward to, and the last few releases have been pretty bad so saying BB or the creator were worthy of praise is bs.

some people are losing interest naturally.... but the MAJORITY of GTA PLAYERS love this game.....gta iv multiplayer thrived from launch in 08 till the launch of gta v..... gtao has 100% more to do and will thrive much more and longer than gta iv multiplayer where players had to use their imagination to have fun..... i'm on ps 3 and only play free aim since gta iv and there is always lobbies full of gta lovers such as my self..... not to mention i have a crew with over 150 active daily gta gamers.......the fun never stops for me.....

Yep, done until some thing is added that peaks my interest. Was already getting bored with the game when the cash started flowing. The cash helped keep me playing. Now I've had ever typing in the game that I wanted and don't really want to play that much. For me the billions allowed me and lots of others to get crazy. I really enjoyed that. NO GRINDING for me.

I've seen a huge influx of low ranked players the past few nights. Sure, a lot of the high levels might have gotten bored and left, but what do you expect after playing the game for months?

And I'm still addicted to this game like always.

I'm just dipping in every few days and cruising around until they finally realise their mistake and add a friendly free mode. If/when that happens I will play this game just as much as I used to play GTA IV; that is, pretty much every weekend.

People have probably left because new games are out.

And I think a lot will have gave up because they were hoping GTAO was going to be some great social game where you can do loads of fun stuff when in a lot of instances its really just a game of DIE DIE DIE.

That can get quite boring after a while.

GTA:O never had that grand touch in the first place as it was hyped up too be.

R* should've looked at what made GTA SA online so successful and build off of there.

At the same time as I got the hacked money I got my computer up and running again so I've been playing Rome Total War II, picked Skyrim back up a bit... looking at company of heros 2 as its on sale for steam.

However since they took my money away, and everyones I have been back into it abit.... mostly because people are doing missions again and survivals... and when they do these missions they do them seriously and not just troll because they had billions...

I remember joining Simon missions with low levels and just getting 4 stars right off the bat to make things interesting.... usually resulted in a failed mission... but now I actually want to finish the missions lol.

Yep, got everyhing i wanted, i'm already satisfied with my garage. Bought all clothing, pegasus vehicles, all boats, buses, dump truck and stuff, tired of waiting for heist. Dont get me wrong though, i love the game but im kinda bored with it, none of my friends are playing anymore so when heist (ever) come, i dont have a crew anymore. I think i might play again if they add some good interesting stuff.

Not saying this applies to everyone but I think some people just lack imagination. There are still plenty of goofy, fun things to do. There is a broad range of vehicles, planes to mess around with. Sometimes something fun to do just comes out of no where.

It's also better to goof around and do random stuff when you have 4 or more people. Might I also add that any mundane situation can become hilarious and worthwhile with some funny friends on mics. Perhaps that right there is the sole reason I enjoy online still so much. When you hang with funny people who can laugh at things easily it's just always a good time.

I reckon anyone that says they are bored with the game, probably played the game to death. Put more hours into this game than any other that's ever been released. They have all had their value out of what is quite possibly the best game ever released on this generation of consoles.

If folk have moved on, then I suspect they have had more value out of this game than any game before.

I made another character to buy 10 adders to sell only and now I decided to keep this 2nd character to make money by doing missions and to earn more money since my first character is already a lvl 208 which I will use for free roam shootouts!! And NO I haven't lost any interest playing gta even thou I got cod ghost and I've only played it for a good hr since I bought it when it came out LOL!

lol beach bum pack was a complete joke

lol content creator was interesting to bad there was already 100 races and 75 deathmatches so it was pretty played out not to mention the 3 million mellee deathmatches that were created

the total of 80 or so co op missions

i remember laughing when i read someone predict it would be 2014 before we got heists lol jokes on me and we still don't have them

the total lackluster game management and online community management by rockstar cant really call it inexperience when they have had 3 previous titles that offered multi player

game might not be dead since it only takes 16 people to fill a server but my crews are dead my friends list is dead heists arent gonna save this game it had so much potential and it fell flat on its face i did get my $60 worth but i really expected much much more
