Passive Mode

Am i the only one bothered by the fact its pointless? You can still easily be run over or shot in your car. I wish passive mode literally made it to where other players cannot affect you. Like say their car runs through you or you're basically a pole, and also bullets just shouldnt be able to hit you simply. And are people still modding money? Cause i still see people blowing up others vehicles and spawning tanks and using rpg and all kinds of ammo and what not.

Just a few questions.

If you're going to use passive mode, you have to use it in a smart way. Stand onto of something cars usually can't reach. Tends to stop you from getting rammed. When a Tank gets involved. Just get out of range of the Turret he can flick you with.

If helicopters start getting involved. Find somewhere they can't reach but is still safe from vehicles.

I'm in Passive Mode a lot because I'm usually doing other things around the house or on here. Once you learn how it works. It's fairly easy to not get killed while in it.

The thing is when im using passive mode its usually because im trying to do something. I dont want to use passive mode JUST to play the game of not getting killed lol. Its just pointless. You still end up having to leave or just get killed/join the killing.

It's not pointless. It's not an ultimate guarantee that you won't get killed but if you use it properly you can keep yourself safe most of the time. Having said that, I think it should work in vehicles so that all this climbing on top of ledges and stuff won't be necessary. Of course you wouldn't be able to shoot out of the car or run anyone over. Or just entire passive mode sessions.

In that sense it does need to be improved. But sadly it has flaws.

There is another type of passive mode where only the npcs can kill you...it's called solo or invite only. If you go into a free mode and don't want to be killed....you chose the wrong game and game mode....even my wife understands this concept so it shouldn't be hard for others to grasp.

Currently that's true, but wouldn't it be a nice addition to be able to play with others without constantly having to watch your back?

No. They made a way for you to not die by someone else's hands...use it or don't, coming here to complain about it isn't going to change it...no matter how many people share the same view on the matter. If it were going to change there would have been some adjustment to it by now.

This.

Passive doesn't mean it grants you sudden immortality. You still have to be smart when you use it.

Just think of it as a tool rather than a solution.

And that was a long time ago. We knew about passive mode before that date. The point is if you haven't figured out how to have fun in GTAO go play something else or whine like a little bitch here.

But I want to whine. It makes Mr. Schwarzenegger come and tell me to "Stop whining.". I'd be so happy if he said that.

Lol geez people are jumping to all kinds of conclusions. I have a great time in gtao and i think they did an amazing job on it. But i just find it weird that passive mode doesnt actually let you be passive without trying. This is probably the only thing ive ever said anything about in a negative way.

it is kind of pointless

the whole point of passive mode is that you're not bothered while trying to have a look around or do something

but if you're stuck standing on a ledge you can't really do either of these things now can you?

Yeah this is pretty much it. Having a "tool" that you learn how to use effectively that will help you not get killled sometimes is rather dumb when you could just have a tool that doesnt let you get killed.

I doubt r* has the brain capacity to figure it out

You say that but you spend time out of your own life playing their game. If Rockstar are so brain-dead then could you please explain as to why the f*ck your hypocrite ass is still here? I agree though. If someone is shooting their tank at me and I use passive mode, they can still kill me by running over me.
