Tank solution

Paying for the ammo won't matter if you have a few million and nothing else to spend it on. How much would each round cost? $1k? $5k? That is still plenty of shots with one million dollars. The best tank deterrence is bad sport -> pay for other peoples PV's + bad sport points. That way you know they are going to only blow up 4-5 cars and then vote kick -> bad sport for days.

Unless you work for R* & can implement this then it is not a solution, it is an idea by someone with no creative control.

The solution for ppl who would rather cry about tanks rather than learning to beat them is to GTFO of public lobbies.

Tanks are an aspect of the game, if you want them changed or removed why stop there? next you will be crying about sticky bombs and auto shotguns, if the unskilled crybabies had their way GTA5 would be Sims meets Midnight club!!

Reading anti tank posts makes me want to tank grief, the subject is old and unless you have creative control at R*, STFU!!!

In conclusion: Tanks are easy to beat IF you know what you're doing, take the time to learn.

So we all know this game is tank friendly. No cost to order. Costs less than an RPG or sticky bomb. So to destroy a tank even with sniper ammo is gonna cost the victims some expense. No cost to replace destroyed PV's etc. No cost to the twanker when it eventually die's, then just call up and order a new one. Definitely the safest and cheapest way to roll in this game.

Solution: pay for tank ammo.

I.e. X amount for every round used.

Folks would think twice about taking the tank out. Would be more conservative with sh*t they blow up. Griefers will be affected in their pocket. And for folks that absolutely must grief with tanks all the time , rockstar has more opportunity for cash card sales

I mean seriously it's cheaper than using a pistol.

Oh look, another anti-tank butthurt thread! Not all tankers are griefers you know.

The tanker does have to pay for the PV. I don't know where this no cost BS comes from. I have, on one of my many tank rampages against the cops, inadvertantly blown up PV's of players stupid enough to get in the way and have been issued Bad Sport warnings and had to pay insurance, which is fair enough as I shold have been keeping a closer eye on the radar and I destroyed their property. I did have one guy rear end me and explode on impact in what I can only assume was a PV but didn't have to pay his insurance, which is fair enough seeing as he rammed me.

But you lot have to learn that not all tank owners are griefers though I will not hesitate to blow up someone who is attacking for no reason. The simplest way to not get blown-up is to avoid them or change lobbies, works perfectly for me. And before you say anything, I have had vehicles destroyed by tanks and yes it's annoying but sh*t happens.

The same can be said for Buzzards and Lazers.

So please explain your reason for rolling in a tank? Because it's nice to cruise in? You like the handling?

Are you completely retarded or just trying to prove it? That wasn't the topic. We all know how to take down or avoid a tank . The topic was price. Tanks are too easy, too cheap. Ruining the dynamic and concept of the game. Highly unbalanced. Tanks are here to stay. That much we can fathom. But the issue is the cost to the Griefers and to the victims.

Why don't we just get rid of every car in the game and everybody rolls in tanks! Grand theft artillery.

Several things could help balance the tanks:

- Cooldown before ordering a new tank. Possibly 24-48 minutes.

- Finite ammo supply.

- Armor nerf.

- Missiles lock onto them.

- They pay insurance again!

But even without these changes, I am seeing very few tanks. I think a lot of people got bored with them.

I think the first suggestion is the most common-sense suggestion. I'm getting that from the fact that I've seen it on here many times.

I do drive a tank every now and then. I don't grief, and I don't spawn kill (unless I've used my tank to kill someone that *was* spawn killing in a tank). Personally, since I don't use it to cause grief and mayhem, I'd be happy to wait half an hour for another one. Even 10 minutes would make people think twice about griefing with them. They know they're not going to be in it forever, and if they grief people enough then they can expect pure spawn-kill as a reaction from the other players in the session.

I don't actually get the lack of cooldown time with Pegasus vehicles. We have it with most other things in the game.

My point was as follows, these are not solutions, merely suggesting an idea solves fvck all.

Maybe this thread is for discussing potential solutions, without actually being a solution. Does that work enough for you?

PvP problem has PvP solution as well as numerous avoidance options. No one gets 'snuck up on' by a tank.

Last night, my friend and I were headed to the helipad to grab a chopper for tank sniping. As we rounded the corner, we see a tank. There was no time to avoid it, we had been caught off guard. This tank driver was a different player than the ones we were after.

The minimap shows white dots, not tanks. They do sneak up on their first few victims. I was only mad that I had to pay the insurance.

Misanthrope Z

sounds like one of those ideas that sounds good on paper but not so much when actually put into play

just my opinion

Wow that's the best solution I've come across. Good thinking :)

Played against a guy last night that had a Tank as a PV :barf:. After he had his out it was open season. There was tank after tank after tank. I just stayed on the roof and sniped them. The one guy did get me but after that I got 8 of them before my console froze. Wish I could have got more as they were all on the same road and kept trying to get in and take off.

First I've heard or seen of the PV glitch since the patch that removed everything.

Other times somebody else has a tank. I go into passive mode and laugh as I run around a tree and they can't hit me.

This.

Passive mode, standing behind a tree with "The Bird" gesture fully engaged seems to drive the tank griefers insane.

My method for dealing with tanker pussies:

1. Go to passive mode

2. Find tank pussy and start flipping them off using The Bird action.

3. Laugh hysterically while they fire round after round at you and continuously attempt to knock you off the wall. Continue flipping them off.

4. Call Lester and go off radar.

5. Quickly leave Passive mode.

6. Maneuver behind tank pussy and throw four C-4's on back of tank.

7. Blow them sky high!

8. Send them a message via phone belittling their half assed attempts at griefing!
