I think it comes down to the amount of people enjoying tank griefing and the amount people who hate it. R* will not make a change if it means losing a big part of the community , even if said community are retarded.

 

If they dont make a cool down or ammo cap then they should make it easier to destroy wether u have rockets or not.

Yes we all know that. That was not the purpose of conversation though. With money now back on a level where it actually matters, the point is, that that tank you are sniping there in pic, costs less than the ammo you are using to snipe driver.

Why would you bother sniping the driver out, knowing they'll just turn on passive mode when they respawn and get back inside the tank to continue on and avoid your sniping location after?

 

Get a cheap vehicle, plant 3-4 sticky bombs on it and ram it behind the tank - detonate and it will explode, undamaged and damaged.

 

Or get yourself a grenade launcher, call Lester to hide your blip, find some good cover and just shoot it from the backside 4 times before they can counter you, which would be too late for them anyway since it takes less than 4 seconds to take it down this way if their turret is pointed the other direction.

This site is an absolute goldmine when it comes to suggestions/discussions/problems, if they weren't stalking this out then they're a bunch of idiots..in other words they would be, whether they use it for their benefit is something we'll find out.

What I´d do:

 

- Tank service goes from whatever it is now (1.8 millions?) to 500.000 now modded is money.

- Calling for a tank every time should be worth 25.000. People using a tank from time to time will save loads of money, people on tank 24/7 will end up paying big bucks.

- If you are a total douche in the tank and get 4 stars, ai rhinos appear, and police/soldiers spawn on foot with RPGs.

it's really weird how rpg's cost 500$ a piece

yet for 200$ you get a f*cking tank with unlimited ammo

makes no sense whatsoever

Maybe give a tank an automatic 5 star or even add a special 6 star just for people in tanks.

 

NON STOP MERRYWEATHER MERCS AND ARMY AND COPS AND SWAT AND BUZZERS AND MUGGERS AND UNDERCOVER PROSTITUTES AND REDNECKS WITH RIFLES. ALL COMING AFTER THE TANK.

Yeah I don't really have a problem with tanks, as someone said earlier you can tell by all the cops and explosions theres a tank nearby, so just run, or get on a high building and snipe, or get yourself a tank and spawn kill till they leave… the only problem I have is that everyone thinks that every tank user is a nuisance, when I use a tank its usually to get rid of tank griefers - but then I become the target. Also the other day someone was camping the tank spawn areas when I was just trying to get my tank to get rid of a tank griefer… I just left it there...

I think it's a great idea and also the lobby can always kick anyone that is griefing (nearly all of them).

That´s stupid. I shouldn´t have to run away from the zone I want to be in, or go to passive, or lose 20 minutes fighting and wasting money, or switching sessions, or pay insurances... just because there´s an imbalanced vehicle in the game and an asshole wants to f*ck the session with it.

 

Tanks f*ck whole sessions. You attack me, I have no problem fighting because it´s fun and it´s worth. You come in a tank, you´re basically destroying any chance for me to keep doing my thing.

 

Buzzards? Jets? No problem, they take skill to use, they´re possible to take down without wasting money or time, they´re fun to interact with, etc. They don´t wreck sessions. Tanks? Something needs to be done.

Something has to be done. I'm sure everything has been mentioned already but I don't think the tank should be something everybody can just take out any time they want. I think a 10 minute cooldown is even too short. I say after your tank is destroyed you have to wait 1 in-game day to get another one and the ammunition should cost money. It is way too unbalanced in the favor of the tank when it costs you to destroy the tank but all the tanks ammo is free.

 

I can avoid tanks most of the time but it gets annoying when you randomly spawn in from a mission or anything and there is a tank there killing you for no reason. I haven't driven the tank enough to know, but if the tank driver doesn't have to pay for vehicles it destroys then it is even more unbalanced and really needs fixing.

+1 in another please-nerf-GTAO for everyone because you suck thread.

I don't think making a longer wait time or charging for tank ammo is nerfing. It is balancing. Not everybody wants to have tank battles all day. I'd be happy with tank only lobbies or tanks not being allowed in regular lobbies. Either or both would work fine for me.

In which case, I get into the helicopter I arrived in, go invisible on the radar, fly to another building, and snipe them again.

So we all know this game is tank friendly. No cost to order. Costs less than an RPG or sticky bomb. So to destroy a tank even with sniper ammo is gonna cost the victims some expense. No cost to replace destroyed PV's etc. No cost to the twanker when it eventually die's, then just call up and order a new one. Definitely the safest and cheapest way to roll in this game.

 

Solution: pay for tank ammo.

I.e. X amount for every round used.

 

Folks would think twice about taking the tank out. Would be more conservative with sh*t they blow up. Griefers will be affected in their pocket. And for folks that absolutely must grief with tanks all the time , rockstar has more opportunity for cash card sales

 

I mean seriously it's cheaper than using a pistol.

The tanker does have to pay for the PV. I don't know where this no cost BS comes from. I have, on one of my many tank rampages against the cops, inadvertantly blown up PV's of players stupid enough to get in the way and have been issued Bad Sport warnings and had to pay insurance, which is fair enough as I shold have been keeping a closer eye on the radar and I destroyed their property. I did have one guy rear end me and explode on impact in what I can only assume was a PV but didn't have to pay his insurance, which is fair enough seeing as he rammed me.

 

But you lot have to learn that not all tank owners are griefers though I will not hesitate to blow up someone who is attacking for no reason. The simplest way to not get blown-up is to avoid them or change lobbies, works perfectly for me. And before you say anything, I have had vehicles destroyed by tanks and yes it's annoying but sh*t happens.

 

The same can be said for Buzzards and Lazers.

Why nerf the tank for people who use tanks in Missions, Death matches, Solo mode, etc.

Yeah cool, I know we shouldn't have to but in this life of GTAO at the moment if you don't want to get spawn killed by them then until or even if it changes (which I don't think it will) then just run, with a chance they might leave the zone you want to be in and f*ck with someone else.

Well you do have to go get them that takes a few minutes depending where you are. The mechanic doesn't bring it to you like cars. Well he did for some people a few patches ago.

I usually do that sticky bomb solution. It gets the job done.
