Teosterix
Hello everyone, i'm posting this topic because i recently had a problem with my GTA V I was about to continue to play and enjoy this game but when i launched it, the quality looked sh*tty. Let me explain myself, i'm regularly playing GTA V since october and i have never experienced this problem : GTA V's aliasing looked surpsingly horrible and the game looks so pixelated right now... Looks like the resolution of the game has just been lowered... Dunno if it's because of the 1.09 but this is really annoying, i can't enjoy this game with so terrible graphics now, and it is also lagging a little bit now. Can someone help me please ? What sould i do ? (excuse me for my english)
KeepCalm and CarryGun
Your English is perfectly fine. Can you give us some more information though: Are you on Xbox or PS3 and are you playing SP or GTAO? When playing other games, do they look lower resolution too? Have you made any changes to your system settings on either your console, router or TV / monitor?
Teosterix
Hey, well i'm using a PS3, and i play SP alot because i want to finish it at 100%. I tried everything and it is not because of my monitor, maybe my PS3 is getting dusty (because i noticed that the textures are taking a while to load) so it may explain the performance loss in GTA V. I'm gonna try to play a different game to confirm this.

TheAdmiester
Can you upload a picture of the problem? That'll help more.
RyanBurnsRed
Are you playing the game on a flatscreen TV via HDMI? Those TVs will usually display the resolution at the top left whenever you start up a game. Most games will be in 1280x720, including GTA V. So see if the solution has changed from that. Also you can try to change the resolution of your PS3 to 720p so that it doesn't upscale the image (the game image) to 1080p. I've heard in the past that setting the PS3's XMB resolution will stop that upscale and will make the picture look better. That's all I got, and I hope you find a fix. Good luck! roth3
I have just created a new thread on this but I'm happy to mark it to get closed and continue with the op if that's ok? Since the 1.09 patch I'm getting jagged edges and when the camera moves the buildings are looking really bad like the edges look like snakes crawling up them?! Teosterix
Well, i have the same problem as you roth3, since the 1.09 the game looks terribly ugly, like the patch changed the resolution or anti-aliasing of GTA V... I also tried to change the resolution of my PS3 to 720p but it didnt help, still jagged edges everywhere, i think that i'll have to wait till the next update then... roth3
Teosterix, yes exactly the same scenario, I tried 720 but looked the same, it's obviously the patch, F***ing idiot rockstar staff, I've never witnessed such a shambles in the gaming industry. SebastianGTX
Doesnt matter if you have 1080p selected, this game doesnt upscale on ps3.If your tv is 1080p and big, youre basically f*cked, turn game mode on, turn down sharpness, turn off picture enhancements, all of em, thats it basically. However if your tv is 720p native and lower size, the game should look just like the screenshots if your tv is calibrated, quote me if you have more doubts. Teosterix
Hey thanks for the answer, but it didnt help me, i tried everything, i think that this is really because of the 1.09 version, that the game is visually f*cked up. (so pixelated) EDIT : the fact that it is because of the 1.09 version has been proven : i noticed that the textures of the game are now really sh*tty and flickering, like a bad resolution PC game. SebastianGTX
Hey thanks for the answer, but it didnt help me, i tried everything, i think that this is really because of the 1.09 version, that the game is visually f*cked up. Dude, the patch aint got nothing to do with it, like i said, the game looks miles better if youre playing it on a 720p native display (most of em are 1360x768 anyway). Id really like to help you but i need some info, the model of your tv, that includes inches, brand, and the model itself. Itd be really useful too if you could provide some pictures. Ill post some of mine so you can see that it looks just fine because you have to mess around with the settings in order to get a better picture. Awaiting your response. I dont use it actually, i play on a 21.5 1080p monitor which doesnt look as good but good nonetheless. 360 version upscaled to 1360x768, but ps3 version looks the same. Teosterix
Hey, i tried to play on another game on my PS3 and i discovered that it was pixelated and had fuzzy graphics too... It means that the problem comes from my PS3, or from the HDMI cable (which is very old), thanks SebastianGTX for your help, but do you have any tips ? What should i do ? Did the GPU of my PS3 burn ? Why are the graphics of my PS3 so pixelated now ?

Teosterix
I don't think that providing pics would be useful, the graphics just look really pixelated on all the games.
Teosterix
Hey there guys, i asked a few guys and everybody told me that it was normal that GTA V (as a heavy game) was making PS3's graphic look bad with time because it was overheating it. But i'm still searching for a solution
