Shenmue18
While I'm not the type to eat incredibly spicy peppers, I like spicy salsa or spicy foods like the spicier type of Doritos, spicy chicken or spicy types of Mexican food. But I don't think I could eat one of those ghost chili peppers regularly or some crazy sh*t like that.

sivispacem
Can Eating Extremely Spicy Food Be Harmful to Your Health? #2 Most of those downsides are either subjective or circumstantial. I'm fairly confident in saying that there's no medical evidence that consuming foods high in Capsaicin is harmful to a healthy individual. I'm interested!! I want to learn how to grow my own chillies!! How do I start one?? Any tips? I've always cultivated from seeds. You need a really warm room like an airing cupboard to help the seeds germinate, then you need (in the UK at least) either a greenhouse or a large south-facing window. They like extremely high-potassium liquid fertiliser, the best is the liquid potash stuff, and need to be watered regularly but in small amounts. Frost and over-watering are utterly ruinous for them. In Vancouver you'll need a greenhouse or south-facing windows. The best plants for indoor growing are small ones like African Birdseye/Piri Piri, Prairie Fire and Thai. I'm fairly confident in saying that there's no medical evidence that consuming foods high in Capsaicin is harmful to a healthy individualThe article gives a nice idea about more obvious and common problems or benefits of eating spicy food. Thing is spicy food is not at all harmful provided you develop a practice of eating in low to medium levels. The side effects are seen in the long run when your body is not as strong (to be specific, the digestive system) enough. When you are young these are not readily seen and your love for spicy food won't cause any major problems NOW but the body gradually starts taking into account till it's so weak that the result could be from major to basic symptoms like ulcers, acidity etc. He he, that's the best thing about human body, it hides within a lot of potential future hazards, if not taken care of early could lead to problems later WBaker
Tacymist
I'm not very big on spicy foods. Although I like my fried chicken to have a bit of spiciness to it, it adds to the flavor. Same goes for a spicy sausage. I like it mild. But too much spice like that Ass in Space stuff or that $100 lava sh*t is too much for me. At that point I taste nothing but burning and that's not my idea of an enjoyable meal.
Johan
I eat something spicy like once a year basically.. it's just not something I prefer. The last time I did was yesterday when I went to McDonalds (which I go to like 9 times a year)

Hazbulator
I love spicy food. Well the most spicy meal was with some kind of "local" hot sauce. Made me drink water every 5 minutes.
I cucked Alex Jones
I'm interested!! I want to learn how to grow my own chillies!! How do I start one?? Any tips? I just let the seeds dry and then I planted them in my garden. Then again, I lived in southwest Florida when I did this, and I heard the climate is a bit different in British Columbia. 018361
To be honest i'm a complete wimp when it comes to spicy things. I just recently ate a normal small green pepper and I had to spit it out. I do want to push how much spicy stuff I eat to just test my limits.

S99
f*ck no. I can't stand spicy food. I hate about 70% of Indian dishes and yes, I hate curry too. I'd rather have bland food for the rest of my life than pungent. Your not the stereotypical Indian are you? OT: That source MUST be bought by me NOW. I love spicy food, In fact i am eating a chilly right now with 10 chilly in it YUM!
LadySupreme
I love Spicy food. Indian food is my favourite, Not sure what the spiciest thing would be that ive had although im sure it will have been Home-cooked. I have a limit though and wouldnt eat something that caused me ''pain'' as its not enjoyable then.
S99
Don't you hate it when you go to a restaurant and it says 'INFERNO CURRY' and it tastes as hot as cheap take-out curry? Edited January 18, 2014 by BAF-stueycow
Fireman
Mexicano's are about the spiciest I can take, I definitely would never eat a pepper even thinking about it now makes my throat hurt. They're called Carrero's but we always call them mexicano's around here. Edited January 18, 2014 by Fireman
EyeMacHunt
Thanks for the tips sivi. t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m
Yes. I always try to get it in "spicy" form if possible, even though it makes my nose run like a bitch. I suggest Chick-fil-a's spicy chicken sandwiches.
GTA-Freak-Vi
I can't handle spicy foods, I either choke, cough a lot or start to get watery eyes. This happened once in a public restaurant and everyone just stared at me...felt embarrassed since I was like 14 at the time. Never ate spiced food again

I see, it seems you thought that my learning or capability of understanding is that weak, that you find the need to explain on his behalf and in your manner, that's really good to read, but the article was first and foremost a simple good to read and have an idea about the subject.Secondly, he replied 'what I think' about the links and his own perspective. That's all there's to it. That pirate/global warming example was not at all required because my last post was just a short 'same subject, different views' in reply and not a matter of 'same subject, same views, different results' ?? That pirate/global warming example was not at all required because my last post was just a short 'same subject, different views' in reply and not a matter of 'same subject, same views, different results' ?? I don't meant to start a pissing contest but both of those blogs (not articles, blogs) are just as subjective as my expression of views about them. I said that I did not believe there was any scientific evidence to suggest that an intake of foods high in Capsaicin has negative implications for healthy people, because the insinuation of your posts were that spicy food was measurably harmful. Now, if you aren't saying that spicy foods are measurably harmful, or are instead saying that under certain conditions spicy foods can be harmful, and it's an issue of intent versus implication, then that's fine. But I believe what Finn is saying, as was I, is that your comments on the matter do basically read as "spicy food has negative health implications". Which is simply not true. Many of the supposed "harms" referred to in the two blogs- such as bad breath- are subjective; and others- such as increased likelihood of stomach ulcers- aren't backed by science and are basically just assumptions made by people who don't understand the way the human body reacts to Capsaicin. Detective Phelps
Eating pickled jalapenos alone makes my tongue burn. Hahaha I like jalapeños, and most spicy food, especially Indian food. If something is too spicy, like food with extra extra extra extra spicy sauce, then I just don't eat it, as food is meant to be tasty, not painful.
