Hey smoke are you back to playing in free aim lobbies? I've gone back to a 2 car garage with a muscle car and a motorbike and 400k in the bank. I love it. I agree with your tactics. Rank advantage is ridiculous with the guns you unlock n all. The only people who seem to kill me are rank 100+ legit players with their heavy snipers. I hate that weapon. We should kick it some time.

Im going to be switching back to free aim tonight likely. Ive met some good dudes in AA & a few have said they will make the switch with me. Im really looking forward to not being locked on to when doing 100+ MPH down the road.

Love my heavy sniper!!

PM me your PSN man & we can hook up later on.

Well now that everybody's back on topic and not measuring their metaphorical penis sizes:

if you didn't know you can fire without aiming for closer range, which lets you move between targets close to you faster. It also removes the time needed to aim, which isn't much but hey, it's something.

Aim for the head, use cover and holding the thumbstick to look round cover - where the dot is on the screen is where you'll be aiming when you pop out, however it does slightly expose your head for insta-kills if the enemy is proficient enough.

#UpgradeOrDie

You free aim Losers never cease to amaze me.

Whine and bitch about auto-aim having no skill, while in free aim you clowns use the roll to avoid being shot.

Stop rolling around you pussies and face the gunfight.

Rolling on the ground is for scrubs who can't aim in time. You're all automatically pussies now, nothing you say past this post will take that away. You're just a different level of pussy than the AA people you try and belittle.

Hahaha.. Go ahead and try and dispute me.... You can't and all you will do is try and insult.

Rolling on the ground is for bitches.

Free Aim Bitches, the lot of you

Hahahahaha clowns.

Good for you! You win!

I don't get why any discussion about free aim/auto aim always turns into a fight over which is better, and that the ones using the other is a noob or something. It's really quite pathetic.

Yeah there is no winner, ever.

There is.

The person doing less talking and more killing on either aiming style.

Very sad indeed. All the OP did was ask for survival suggestions & it turns into a dick measuring contest. All you pathetic clowns need to grow the f*ck up. ITS A GOD DAMN GAME FOR CHRIST SAKES!!

Its all preference at the end of the day really. As i said, i have played quite extensively with both aiming options, and i prefer FA for a number of reasons. The biggest reasons are it being more challenging & more mature players.

@blitzzd rolling is a tactic. No different than using the cover system. You mad because you get killed by people outsmarting you by using legit tactics?

We're/i'm talking about the bitch fights on here, not gameplay. But yes, you are correct.

At the end of the day, you crying fags can say which aiming style is better all you want. Here is the reality.

GTA is supposed to be played with auto aim. That means AA wins automatically. But let's resume.

Free Aim sucks, the control response sucks, the guns like Combat MG spray all over the place in FA, you know they do. I was shooting with FA long range at some noob once, ONE IN SEVEN bullets hit. ONE IN SEVEN. Terrible.

Tally up. AA - Winner. FA - 0 so far.

Shall we continue?

Auto aimers would kill free aimers, fact. Auto aiming makes it easier to own you righteous noobs.

Free aim was only put in, so crying losers would feel a sense of superiority for playing it. Fact.

That's AA - Winner + 1. FA - 0.

The rest of the post will go on to prove how fail FA is, when faced with AA. That's just how things go. FA players are elitist noobs. Nobody has a 5.6 kd without using tanks and the reluctance to post his high weapon stats (Apart from the noob coward's choice: The sniper rifle) suggests that I am correct. Sorry, but FA is for basement dwelling nerds. AA is for true champions of both GTA:O and real life. Something the FA guy's don't know. Real life. Loooool nerds.

Just checked my GTA 5 stats, I have a 2.6 K/D ratio. I strongly oppose tanks too. That is higher than most and I kill a lot of noobs. For someone to have 5.6 KD, there can be no argument, this noob uses a tank.

BTW. Using a tank to kill pplz in FA is the same as doing it in AA. It's nooby and unappreciated. Don't think it makes you special.

That is all.

Maybe lmg's arent supposed to be super accurate? Auto aim fag. Use free aim & get ur swagggg up. Wow very kill. Yolo

Being locked onto while you are driving really fast is probably the worst part of any GTA game ever, thats pretty much the only reason i play free aim.

AA noobs don't know the difference between every gun a combat MG purpose was heavy fire to supress the enemy... Besides almost all noobs in AA personal vehicle shield and corner camp

As a crew-mate pointed out tonight, it sure is nice not to be picked out of the Buzzard and instead forces someone to have a go.

This game really wasn't meant to be played on free aim. The gun physics and aiming ability isn't up to par with a pure first person shooter.

I don't care what people say. There is no AIM ASSIST funtion in this game like there is in a game like Halo, CoD or L4D.

If you really want to do better in free aim, I suggest wall camping like a mofo and going with a long range weapon like the snipe.

EDIT: OR running and gunning with a LMG or shotgun

gta is a 3rd person shooter not first person...

OK then...it has no aim assist like Gears of War.

it has aim assist

not in the Halo GOW sense that it locks on to nearby targets

but you do get one bigass crosshair and hitboxes, even if you're just partially overlapping your target you'll get a hit

this game is very playable with free-aim

just because you can't doesn't mean sh*t.

besides I think most shooters have too good of an aim, it's f*cking matrix sh*t people pull off in regular shooters

this game you actually have to stop and aim, you can't bunnyhop 360 noscope people or any of that other nonsense

anyway in regards to OP

you really need to look at things a bit differently especially in missions

it's all about position and timing really, find a good coverspot and don't pop out when every1 is shooting at you

also shooting people down than moving on to the next target can help a great deal

and finally learn to aim without the reticule, it's the exact centre of your screen however when you pop out of cover it moves a bit to the left or right (depending which side you pop out of)

try to get used to this and you'll be solo-ing missions on hard in no time

I used to love free aim lobbies in GTA IV.

I just recently got back into free aiming lobbies on V and the mechanics are 10x better than IV's..

IMO..

I'm just grateful we have freeaim lobbies. Everyone can have their own preference, but freeaim seems so much better.

Even if we forget about which one takes skill, the tactics in freeaim are much more immersive.

Same boat as you OP. I was always on/off with Free-Aim and Traditional, but I just made the switch to full-time.

I always used sniper rifles in Traditional, so I already had "free-aim experience."At first, it's a pain to get used to, but once your stats are maxed out, and you have the good guns, it's pretty fun.

Although... be careful with killing people who are in crews. I've noticed that crew members are far more protective of each other in free-aim than in the other lobbies. Lol, this may just be me though.
