no, even with catch up off, you cant even have close call races cause the person next to you will either attempt to ram you away, or end up getting a retarded sudden boost of momentum just for driving behind you

 

 

...which then will either send you flying off the track or they'll just fly by like nothing happened

Catch up off makes a better race

That sudden boost of Momentum from slip streaming (i call it Drafting)is real and does exist,

I am 52 yrs old, and did some Local racing on dirt tracks and a few paved ones YEARS ago.......The Draft as i call it can screw you and the person in front of you up real quick if you are not ready for it or know how to use it ....its not retarded it real.........but a lot of retards do drive cars LOL

 

I do a lot of racing with my crew members we try our best to race clean no pits, or intentional ramming. catch up is always off.if a player reports he dosent not have a custom car in a class we normally turn customs off...and this keeps it fun for us

OP, I raced much more in the early days, it became apparent quickly wreaking was the flavor as most players never read the memo on the car having a brake pedal. I got used to it and went with the flow. On the mic, invariably, there was always that one kid who would boast and gloat about how they wreaked me so bad and how I was such a scrub etc. Then, next track I'd bide my time and pit said kid, just to hear them scream and accuse me of cheating in so much flowery language. That last part was one of the things I enjoyed about racing.

Upon realizing I'd like to race against players who actually wanted to test their driving skills, I attempted to organize impromptu races. I met with a modicum of success but, gathering like minded individuals ultimately turned out to be much more work then anticipated.

I've revisited racing twice, once when the content creator was released, and after the purge. No need to comment on content creator experiences as I've had the same as previously posted here, post purge however has been interesting. Now, desperate for money, players are hyper aggressive at the start of any race and all a player needs to do is hang back a few moments and then skate through to the finish to collect the prize. I can't say this is what I envisioned returning to the race circuit, but it's an easy way to make money if a player has even just a moderate ability to stay on the track.

Fun factor, the jury is still out for me. What I can say is, when I was able to get a full server of impromptu racers who would take turns doing drag races in muscle, winding races in sports, super cars on highways and less frequently off road racing, it was probably some of my fondest memories playing this game. But the challenges to recreating this are still there, and with the added barrier now that nearly all the players are broke, the incentive to race impromptu has pretty much vanished completely.

TL;DR enjoy a wreak fest? racing mode has what's desired in abundance

No it sucks, no one wants to do water,air,off road races , just conerless BS tracks

 

 

 

Funny i had a few times where i gave the host sh*t about catch up mode, and said i would win with it turned off,it was on that track Down the Drain (retard ver of stars in your eyes)

 

so he turned it off and i won, he even had his little abo mates trying to go backwards to hit me

 

Just shows how sh*t catch up is
