Merryweather Helicoper secret...

I've seen this random guy on GTA:O bring down a rope ladder from the side of the Merryweather helicopter. Does anybody know how to do this?

Before you ask.

-Yes I can confirm that's what I saw(aiming at the bastard with a sniper)

 

-The merryweather NPC was driving

 

-the player was on the left side of the Helicopter.

 

-I was playing on PS3

Get the heli to go low enough and you can hold Square/whateverXBOXuses and you rappel.

Yep.. you can do it but it doesn't always work. Sometimes you'll have to set another way point and the icon will show up on the screen to rappel from the helicopter. It's kind of a hit and miss thing. I wonder if two players can do it at the same time? I haven't seen that before!

The real benefit to this (already a thread btw) is if you could also climb the rope ladder.

I tried, only the person who called the chopper can rappel.

I always just shoot the pilot and steal the heli

Its not a rope ladder -_- its just a simple rappel cord. No steps or knots for you to climb back up lol.

I always just shoot the pilot and take the chopper. It is quicker to fly it yourself!

You can slide down ladders IIRC

 

Cant remember what the button is - but only found it out last night, so yes, I'm slow....

I love how people are finding this crap out now when I did it continuously as soon as the chopper became available.

 

If you have him take you to the Eclipse apartments, 9 times out of 10 he stops over the roof so I always rappelled down, then parachuted off.

you press circle when you reach destination, this then gives the option to jump or rappel.

Heists would be pretty cool if they can have full-scale insertions, helicopter on the roof with ropes hanging down, support choppers providing cover. Ah, one day...one day.

For the record it's fast roping, not rappelling. Rappelling you would be in a harness with your rope guided through a descender.
