Was just playing online and saw that this guy had just gotten a bounty on him so I ran over to try and claim it. The thing is that when I aimed my reticle at him I couldn't shoot. I pointed away and my gun fired just fine. Tried again and same thing. Is this a new glitch or is it a mod? Running him over did the trick however as always

 

BTW I was on foot when trying to gun him down

Possibly a god mode glitch obtained through some passive mode exploit. I haven't encountered it.

It only does that during missions when you try and point your reticle at a player. Was this in free mode?

No, this is not a glitch.. he was in passive mode. It's a game bug. Many times when people go into passive the icon just doesn't change. I used to think people were silly or just stupid when they were shooting at me when I was in passive. But I've learned recently (as I've started to engage in this free-roam death match nonsense) that the icon just doesn't change...

 

 

I'll see these guys on my HUD and its saying they're not in passive but I can't aim at them.. shots don't do anything. But a few minutes later the passive mode icon shows up on their character. I've seen this DOZENS of times recently. But like I said, I've only started engaging in free-roam battles with people so I don't know when this started.

Yes you can, as stupid as it sounds. It's happened to me a number of times lately. And I think this bug has come about when you first join a session and go into passive before leaving your apartment (although I'm not 100% about that). I've seen people roaming in free mode with the passive icon but it's red at the same time. But as I mentioned above.. that passive icon doesn't always show up, right away.

 

I've literally shaken my head a few times trying to make sense of what's going on with that passive mode icon and had to think about what the situation... it's just a bug in the game and I doubt rockstar even knows about it.

So what happens if you're already in passive mode and someone puts a bounty on you? Do you get kicked out of passive mode?

That is one hell of a bug then having half the lobby on a wild goose chase lol and not sure about the bounty put on you while in passive. Just know you can't put passive while you have a bounty.

If your in passive mode before the bounty was placed on you you wil remain in passive mode..If not then you can't go into passive mode after bounty was placed on you

You can indeed be in passive and have a bounty on your head.

 

If you are in passive, steal a car, and have an NPC place a bounty on your head, you will stay in passive.

 

When in passive you don't appear on the lester list, but that doesn't stop NPCs.

This is not a hack or exploit, at least not when it happened to me a few times. I simply was on passive mode and someone put a bounty on me.

People just assumed I was doing it on purpose and wasted their time following me trying to run me over with vehicles. I had no idea you can't put bounties on passives. I just assumed that occasionally there are people dumb enough to put a bounty on a passive lol.

You can (sometimes) put a bounty on players in passive mode. I put one on some guy hoping it would kick him out of passive mode so I could kill him, but it didn't, leaving him in passive with a bounty on him.

 

I did run him over a few minutes later, however ;)

I've also noticed lately there is a delay when you join a new session for the bounty to reingage.

I was able to turn passive mode on during this delay. Was interesting. Had the bounty pop on me again a few seconds later.
