How does the weapon kill stats work?

I've been wanting to unlock the Army camo for my guns, so have been trying to use them a lot. The problem I'm facing here is that it says I need 100 kills, and I read it's player kills, however, according to my weapon stats, I have 700 with the SMG, but no Army tint, yet, I have 200 with the AK and have it. I've not used the AK for too long, so it seems weird I already have the Army tint for it. I've killed a lot of players with the SMG..I mean, 700 kills? Shouldn't it be unlocked? I also have over 100 kills with the pump shotgun, no camo either.

I may be wrong but I believe that you need 100 player kills, not including NPC which also show up in total kills. So looking at your stats in your signature line, it looks like you have a total of 358 player kills with all your weapons combined. So I would think you're getting close with one of the weapons.

 

Again, I may be wrong but that's how I read it.

Makes sense. I wish it told you how many player kills you have with a particular weapon. I have no idea if it's my pump shotgun or SMG that is close. Thanks.
