Awesome idea for the next gta

Instead of having it one city and in one timeline. How about we start off in '79 as an early-20 year old gangster serving a sentence for burglary in San Andreas State Prison. After doing some dirty work, you leave the penn and continue through the city.

Finishing all of the missions in Andreas, a sequence of narrated-cutscenes open up, showing you progress through the year into the 80's, you continue to blemish to the top of the Andreas organised crime ladder until, you are meet with an unfortunate twist which takes you to the capital of America, Carser City... But, leave the bell-bottoms where they are because now it's 1985!

Big problems arise in Carser, which would be a Washington, D.C. rip-off. I won't get specific with details and all. Progressing through this city, you become well-known and well-respected by the street and your peers but, not by the FEDS.

The FEDS 'cause you to leave Carser behind as you met an old-friend from Andreas, who now runs a big-time Casino in Las Gamblas, a Vegas-hybrid. Present day, in your mid-40's, you finish off your long stretch in the LG. Surronding the city are miles and miles of desert. The story line will end here eventually, making you feel like your character has accomplished a sh*t load.

You can still fly back to the other cities, if you wish and some of the missions in the game would revolve around flying back and forth doing whatever deals arise in the storyline such as whacking certain people, drop-offs and so-on.

I would also think that the story could evolve with the main character narrating sometimes, what do you think?

I like it, except for the part about...what you said.

I think the best idea for the next gta would be people not complaining about the next gta, but rather dealing with the one THAT JUST CAME OUT.

Doesn't hurt to dream, does it? :D

Edit: And where was I complaining? Stop trying to come off as elite 'cos you only sound confused.

Well its good... but what people have been yelling about is an online GTA.  That would be a sick idea.  Online gangs, personalised clan vehicles, personalised player design and different cities.  Itd be a kill fest! Instead of mp maps, they would be city designs. Like Vice and Liberty city.  All the driving and killing skill is going to waste against mindless AI.   You'd think they'd be smart enough to release one, it would sell so fast!    :die:  :zZz:

~~~I HATE THE AUSTRALIAN GAME RATERS! THEY MADE ME ~~~WAIT PAST THE 14 November, the (3rd) original Aus ~~~release date AND IT STILL ISNT OUT! I CRAVE 4 ~~~BLOOD! GOD SAVE THIS DOOMED COUNTRY!
GTA: Online would be a big risk for Rockstar. It would have to be on a big scale and development would take more than 3-4 years, max. Personally, I don't think PS2 could handle a huge GTA world, or any console on the market right now.
I don't get this online idea. Is it about multiplayer ? It sounds like a completely new consept of gaming. Do you download the entire game online ? Do you download user made cities ? Nobody has made a new gta 3 city yet. And PC users have had half a year on their hands doing that. It would be EASY to add multiplayer to the VC PC version and it wouldn't take 3 or 4 years. More like 3 or 4 weeks. It has already been done you know (in other games).
I really like the IDEA of a multiplayer gta, except it'll crash and burn once it hits the shelves.  How am I supposed to maintain an online character, moving up the crime-ladder and forming gangs, when everyone's fragging each other all the time?!  It's a crazy-good idea, but it'll wind up looking like Half-Life in a city surrounding.
I think GTA online would really suck. I sounds really great, with all the making gangs etc. but it wouldnt work like that, people would just do their own thing and go around killing everyone and everything. Also, some people would probably find a way to cheat and mess it up for everyone.
As for the next GTA, I think it would be very interesting to have it set in a Shanghai/Hong Kong/Tokyo city. Maybe very slightly futuristic (only 2-5 years).
No chance you'll have a city that's a DC ripoff, what with the sniper shootings recently, and the ability to cause havok and kill withing the clone city itself.
But I like the idea of time passing and there being mutiple cities. I'm surprised that not many people have mentioned Carser City as a possibility for the next game.
