Niko's inbox can get full.

Discovered this yesterday. Hadn't received any emails for awhile and knew that I should be receiving some from previous play throughs. Initially thought it might be a bug on my save but had a look yesterday whilst trying to figure out what might have gone wrong and discovered that the inbox was full. After deleting emails and logging back in I had 17 emails waiting for me.

Also, it turns out that Brucie has a workout CD. And an autobiography called Full Throttle.

Sticking with the subject of Brucie, the Fruntalot poster in GTA V (the one people speculate could be CJ from SA) is actually a reused image from GTA IV. In IV, it can be found on Brucie's website advertising the Big-Up Brucie Fansite. Brucie is wearing the exact same outfit and is sat in the exact same pose as "CJ". The female in lingerie is also identical.

You can hear Luis say simply
"My name's Luis, wanna have sex?" to the Asian chick in the beginning of Boulevard Baby.

Luis Lopez, what a groovy sex symbol.

Probably many people didn't know that gang members actually ask Niko (and Luis) to leave their territory if he stood nearby them for a while, and they'll attack him if he didn't leave, regardless if he harassed them or not.

As for Johnny, they'll insult him and ask him to leave as well, but unlike Niko and Luis, they will not be watching him until he leaves. They also won't attack him unless he harasses them. Which is strange, considering TLAD is the gang based title.

They're afraid of his leather jacket :P

In IV some gangs change their relationships with Niko, that likely also applies to TLAD and TBOGT, but what are the relation changes?

I don’t think there are any in TLAD and TBOGT.

As for IV, the Faustins act friendly towards Niko once he starts working for Mikhail, and revert to aggressive again once he kills him. The Jamaicans and the McRearies also become friendly when Niko starts working for Jacob and the McRearies respectively.

I had no idea in "Lure" if you keep phone spamming the dealer eventually he leaves the apartment and you can hunt him down in his car and I've never thought of taking out the satellite dish messing up the tv's reception to lure him and kill him that way.

GTA IV's mission freedom ftw.

That's the mission freedom I like, I loved RDR2 but there were a couple of missions where I didn't go exactly by the on screen instructions and found myself killed by an invisible sniper. Maybe it was a coincidence or maybe I just need to get good but it just felt a bit cheap.

Somehow only just noticed the other day that drug dealers (guys in hoodies usually) actually offer drugs to people as they walk by, and the people respond negatively and keep walking or accept the offer and buy them

Random cool mission one is in Hostile Negotiation if you turn up to rescue Roman in a helicopter there will be Russians on the roof with rocket launchers (and although it's hard to avoid being killed it is possible to land on the roof and kill them and enter the building through the roof).

Another small thing I noticed recently is in Escuela of the Streets. When it's time to enter the warehouse for the shootout as well as just shooting the lock and going in through the door, or alternatively climbing on the roof grabbing the SMG up there and going in through an open window in the ceiling, you can also do a third option of shooting out the office window to the left of the door and climbing in that way. If you alert them on the roof you can no longer go in through the door so it's a good option if you want to try and kill a couple through the ceiling window first but not drop in.

Oh and if Niko, Johnny or Luis calls the emergency services while not in a named area or somewhere they can get to them (eg flying in a helicopter or out to sea on a boat), when the dispatcher asks for their location it has several dialogues each of them being like oh sh*t I don't know where I am lol

Getting them doing this and then a fist fight and then hopefully a gang shootout is like my favourite activity lol, they always have funny dialogue and it's cool because they warn you like 10 times before they'll do anything so you really have to want it, and also unless you or a passing cop brings a gun out they usually don't so you can just have a fist/knife fight (unlike in a certain GTA where some random tourist will start fighting you or calling the police on you for standing next to them waiting for a train for 5 seconds, or 20 gang members will simultaneously shoot you with perfect accuracy in 0.5 seconds and you're instantly dead ). Russian and Italian gang members are the most amusing.

Edit: Also when they're warning you to leave if you're holding a gun they say different things, commenting on it and telling you to put it away.

Just thought of another one. In Liquidize the Assets instead of just going straight in down the alley shooting you can quietly go to the building to the right of it and parkour up to the roof (it involves quite a lot of climbing, you have to use the metal heating vent things) where there's a lookout and some armour to pick up, and a door that leads to a staircase that goes down into the compound.

In order to go through the door to get to the staircase you have to alert/kill the lookout which starts off the shootout, but the cool things are A) you can kill some enemies from the vantage point up there, B) because the staircase leads to the very back of the compound when you go down it you come at the fight from the opposite direction to usual and C) you come out near the van that tries to drive away so you can destroy it way before it would have a chance to.

If you visit Perseus or Modo before unlocking Algonquin, they'll be labeled as "Clothes Store" on the map instead of their actual names

Reminded me, if you steal from the till in Modo a loud alarm goes off (anywhere else you steal from there's no alarm). It scared the sh*t out of me lol

If you give enough money to the sax playing buskers you get a jazzy ringtone sent to your phone. If you give a homeless guy money he then won't fight back if you attack him, and also if you get in a fight with someone else nearby he'll come and fight them for you. Related, if you hit a woman any guys nearby (who are the type who fight) will attack you.

I hate it when Niko gets stuck stabbing the ground whenever you try to stab someone who is laying down and slowly rolls down a hill or staircase but then Niko continues to destroy the ground out of pure rage and not even you can stop him. Used to always happen to me right before I decide to go save in a safehouse, plus I turned off autosave. (because I never trust autosave......never)

I think I know what you're saying. I remember during some mission (I think that lone shark mission where you save Roman) But I was messing around with NPC's in hove beach when I stabbed some random guy and fell to the ground. As Niko was going to finish him off, his body rolled out of the way and indeed Niko was stuck in the "stabbing" animation. I lol'ed cause It almost looked like some sort of rap video because Roman was just standing behind Niko minding his own business while he continued to repeatedly stab the dirt, lmaoo. Almost looked like Niko was dropping some rhymes

Had to reload the save and start all over again :turn:

Oh wow that's never happened to me, guess I haven't stabbed enough people.

I find that often if I give money to a busker my phone won't come up afterwards. Going away from them and time passing fixes it though.

In the Fixer's assassination mission Derelict Target you can grab a helicopter and land on the roof and go in that way (there's holes you can drop down through, and when you approach in the helicopter there's guys who get scared and run inside) and shoot your way down the building instead of up. Noticed this yesterday.

Also I found out recently that the Fixer is voiced by the same actor who voices Mikhail Faustin. He does a good job with the different accent but I can totally hear it now I know lol

Pedestrians react to weapons you have out. With most weapons they might or might not react, but with the sniper rifle they always react, and RPG they always run.

Bouncers will come attack you if you try to use your camera inside the strip clubs.

Sorry if these have been said.

In '...Final Interview' if Niko attains a wanted level after killing Goldberg, the police dispatcher warns officers to use firearms with discretion inside the offices of GL&S to avoid lawsuits.

Sorry if these have been said.

Also if you just shove someone once inside a strip club usually the bouncer will just come over and give you a warning to cut it out and keep an eye on you. Then if you do anything else you're out

I noticed that if you make yourself fall off a tall building by dropping a molotov and setting yourself on fire so you fall off the edge the game sometimes doesn't realise you're falling (because you're doing the burning animation as you fall) so other than the burning injury (which only removes half your health) it doesn't hurt you and you survive.

If you go to the roof of the old Sprunk factory (the place where you shoot the helicopter down in Trespass) and climb up the steps that lead to nowhere so you're above the missing roof, when you jump down on to the beam going across it all the beams fall down into the factory with you standing on them. You can die but if you remain in place on the beam you can survive. Left over effect from where the helicopter falls in there in the mission I guess. Scared me when I was up there exploring and it happened.

Oh and it might be obvious but you can set your helicopter on fire using the flames shooting out of the towers of the oil refinery factories in Alderney lol.  Has anyone ever used a parachute to set themselves on fire and/or land on one in TBOGT? I've tried but couldn't manage to control the parachute accurately enough

When your health is low (and I mean very low), Niko will have an angry facial expression. His idle animations will also be completely different. It's been a few years since I've had my health that low, but one that I do remember is him rubbing his forehead as if he has a fever

And so he does when he gets wanted.

That applies to Johnny and Luis as well.

I found this out a while ago during my latest playthrough of the game.

If you call someone who sends you a text message, the person will actually pick up, resulting in a conversation about the text message.

Yeah when health is really low he has idle animations that show he's tired/injured, there's one where he slumps over too (not just the getting his breath back after running thing, a more dramatic version). I didn't notice that for ages. He gets the angry face in other situations as well, whenever he's wanted and for a little while after he's been killed, arrested or failed a mission. I think he says angrier things when he has the angry face too, if knocking into people and stealing cars right as I get out of the hospital is anything to go by, it always seems to be like "MOVE!" or "get the f*ck out of there now!" instead of the slightly more calm usual comments.

Sorry to triple post but I couldn't get over this little detail. I noticed there was a sign outside one of the car washes advertising a $3 special price for taxis. Grabbed a taxi and sure enough it costs $3 instead of the usual $5. The attention to detail in this game continues to amaze me . And already knew it but the detail where if you take an open top car there it gets hand washed instead of just turned away is cool too.

Oh and so I've met the illusive mailman (who awesomely says mailman related things while fighting you) a few times. But yesterday I was in Schottler and I met THE MAILMAN WEARING A RUSSIAN HAT. Full usual mailman uniform with a furry hat like the one you can buy from the Russian Shop on his head. Never knew such an epic ped could exist.

While Johnny yells to the Angels of Death to "Go back to San Fierro" during battles, some Angels of Death bikers tell him that he "Better run back to Los Santos..." if he harasses them. That might be a hint that The Lost were originally established in Los Santos, and not Alderney/Liberty.

In Clean Getaway although Vlad requires you to deliver the car to him clean he doesn't say anything else about the condition it needs to be in.....if you deliver it in good condition he'll call you later on to thank you for delivering it, but if you deliver it badly damaged he calls you to complain that it looked like sh*t :D

In Final Destination, after Faustin gives you the task to travel to Bohan and kill the guy (while Dimitri begged him to change his mind), on your way there you can call Dimitri to ask him to confirm that you should do what Faustin asked (which he reluctantly does).

With the thing where when you date Alex she writes about the date on her blog, with different updates written depending on where you take her. I found out that as well as that she also writes a special update if you die on the date (she writes about how you're in the hospital) or if you get arrested on the date.

If you get a 5 or 6 star wanted level and die during the time in the game that you're working for the ULP, when you get out of the hospital he'll call you annoyed like "I thought I told you to lay low" and Niko's like "sometimes I just can't help myself!", there's several different dialogues. I remember the first time this happened was on my first ever playthrough when I'd never been to Alderney before and dared to go there before it was unlocked and got killed, awesome surprise. Most often happens when you die in Three Leaf Clover.
