Cool Things You Didn't Know About GTA IV

Recommended Posts

Sucks that it's only PC exclusive. That's pretty deep.

Well... You could get GTA IV for PC, no? :p

It kinda makes me glad I bought a new PC to get ready for V, but at the same time to finally be able to play GTA IV maxed out.

I find it very interesting that Kate says "I think Packie is on a crash course to somewhere horrible", when he actually moves to LS. (and for me, it's far from horrible because Packie is f*cking rich now)

Why do you ask such questions? It's obvious that our favourite Gta Iv fanboy mod would do anything to obtain Gta IV on every console available! :colgate:

should I still use spoiler tags?

just in case

when you kill Tom Goldberg, the lawyer, if you stab him with your knife instead of shooting him, you won't get a wanted level

If I knew, I would've done that.

Funnily enough the PC version is the only one I haven't got.

New detail!!!111!!!!!

But really, here it is:

While you are in the part of the story line when you're doing United Liberty Paper missions and you are on free roam, if you get a wanted level then get caught or die, the U.L contact will call Niko that he was supposed to lay low. Niko will say that he can't resist sometimes.

-Various drug dealers are around Liberty City. Mostly in alleyways and sometimes in Outlook Park. They offer their product to peds. Some peds will buy while others will refuse angrily usually telling the dealer to "f*ck off".

I still have not yet seen this. I'm gonna look out for this on my next playthrough of GTA IV.

It's pretty cool General. You're better off to be hanging around late at night/early morning.

Will definitely do !

Are these drug dealer guys Black, White, Hispanic or what ? Are they gang members too ? Like those M.O.B or Spanish Lord guys.

Edited by Official General

I think most of them are white without any affiliation to any gangs as far as I know. The most common is the guy wearing a hoody.

Did you see them General?

Anyway here are some others....

-The stats between the 360 and PS3 versions are different. On the PS3 version it has an addiction level and distance traveled whilst the 360 version doesn't. Keep in mind my 360 version is rather old (I bought it pre-owned in 2010) so I'm not sure if it changed for the 360 Complete Edition. Not sure about PC as I've never played the PC version.

-If you decide to date Michelle before saving Roman from Kalem and Bledar at the basketball courts he'll ring from the hospital after he's been beaten up where you can choose to pick him up or not. Either way he still finds himself at the basketball courts again, but this scenario has low repercussions depending on which you do first in terms of dialogue.

-All clocks in cutscenes are in sync with the phone/in game clock.

-Jim's appearance in GTA IV is far different to that in TLAD. In GTA IV's he's white whilst in TLAD he's black.

-The flying rats aren't the only animals in the game. Every now and then you can see cockroaches near trash bins and stuff.

Ok they are all white ?

I think that some are white and some are black. I found a notable spot where drug dealers spawn. I only find Hispanics selling drugs there, though. Anyhoe, here's the location:

If you don't know where this place is, then it's near Luis's house. If that ain't enough for ya. Then this link might help you out.

BTW, I should claim that I only saw drug dealers here in TBoGT. I think that they're in IV but I'm not sure.

Funnily enough the PC version is the only one I haven't got.

:O Well then, I got ya a present for your burfday!

Certain cars like Admiral(if I am not mistaken) have a door ajar sound, which means the door does this bling sound when it is open.

A lot of the missions if not all that feature dialogue when you are driving have 2 dialogues. Dialogue B starts if the player has failed the mission previously. Haven't figured out at what checkpoints though.

Yeah, some guy of GameFAQs wrote down the entire script of GTA IV, alternate dialogue and all. http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/933036-grand-theft-auto-iv/faqs/58223

The only ones I've seen have the same model as Scott Guzowski.

:O If it's made by you then it's the best video evar!!!!!

OT:

- Niko can actually call Roman after completing missions.

- If you see Alex's blog after Niko fu*ks her, she'll comment about how 'well hung' he is. :p

I don't know if this has been brought up before but if you visit whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com you'll see many posts refering many hidden things in the game such as health, pigeons, random encounters and the poster EddieLow also included a map of his murder victims

I know that this is old but it's still info.

- If you visit the website "Littlelacysuprisepageant.com", you will get a nice surprise after you shut the computer off.

- You can drive a car in the subway.

Actual spoiler ahead

If you choose the Deal ending (where Roman dies), Kate will phone Niko after a week or so telling him that she's leaving Liberty City and that she's dumping him. She'll then send an E-mail a few days later explaining why.

that never happened.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5_hPxo7Nec

If that's genuine and not a fan made weld together of other Kate lines, then I'm impressed. I could never get any further contact with Kate after Deal, and I've always assumed it ended with the call after the finale (on the PC).

I know that this is old but it's still info.

Lol I tried that today after checking it out on the GTA Wiki. Thankfully there was a pay and spray nearby.

-The Grotti showroom is opened during the day with workers and customers, but if you visit it at night it'll be closed with no one in side.

- Fat Cops are the only pedestrians that are somehow able to drink coffe. If you get closer while they're drinking you can hear a ''slurp'' sound.

- During the mission where you assesinate Tom Goldberg if you go down the stairs and shoot one of the guards you're able to hear the wilhem scream.

- You're able to disarm a cop with good timing and accuracity.

- NOOSE operatives have a crouch animation unique to them which makes them faster and harder to headshot.

- Some bums will have a blind eye.

-The FIB has unique quotes which aren't used in-game.
-In the apartment in the mission Luck of the Irish, you can hear someone saying something behind the door. The file is called internally NEIGHBOR1

SPOILER (how can I set spoiler tags?)

When doing missions for UL. Paper and you visit Littlelacysuperpageant.com, he will call you and say to keep ''your Johnson inside your pants''.

SPOILER END

-The Slamvan throws out engine fumes like sports cars in TBOGT

-The Regina does not have that black smoke coming out of it, unlike other beaters

-Dwayne can be found in bike races in TLAD. He owns a red NRG-900

-When you kill someone when he's wounded, and then you punch him 3 times and walk away for a short while (like 8 seconds), the ped will die and lay in a position like characters from the 3D Universe

-All the internet girlfriends are not named exactly by their name, instead they have names like peds (for example, Kiki's name is F_Y_Pmanhat03). They have unique clothing, never used by them by default. This further proven by the fact that the woman inside Perestroika, just near the front, shares her model with Alex, however she uses different clothing.

-If you punch someone until he has 7 health circles, then if you aim a gun at him, he'll limp away. This won't happen if his health is higher.

-Peds have something like three classes. Some will run away just after punched, some will run away after they have only 3 health circles and certain ones will fight you until they are knocked out or dead.

-Cutscene peds can be spawned via trainers. They look like they wouldn't have a spine though. Interestingly, females are using male sound clips.

-There are four types of bums, one being hidden in the files. One is an old Afroamerican guy dubbed in the files as a Crackhead, the second is an old white guy, the third is a young black guy frequently talking about aliens, reptilians etc. (I always kill him) and the fourth, the unused one, is a young white guy dubbed as an Alcoholic in the files.

Funnily enough the PC version is the only one I haven't got.

Well in that case you MUST get the PC version:

I know you want it. (mine came in a slimmer box but it still had the poster/map and the two booklets)

-The Regina does not have that black smoke coming out of it, unlike other beaters

I am quite sure that Regina backfires from the exhausts if that was the black smoke you wrote about.

I meant that flag on the cars:

bangerexhaustfx

causes the car to have black smoke coming out of the pipe, add it to a Super GT and see the difference :p it's not the backfiring. The Regina does not have that flag, so it backfires however has normal smoke coming out ^^ that's what I meant.

Additionaly, I was playing yesterday IV and noticed something,:

-During the mission Shadow, one bum (there where Ruman calls you), actually uses a model of a ped wearing Angels of Death clothing, however he isn't affliated with the gang. Interestingly enough, you can find that model around Beechwood City, Star Junction and Lower Easton. There are also peds which wear Lost MC decals, these include some spawning around Bohan and the weapon dealers in Alderney and Broker (the one in Algonquin is a Triad)

I forgot to mention a few more things here too so:

-If you go to the old Acter Industrial Park rafinery, you will see a bunch of bums. One of them is, interestingly enough, an old afroamerican guy who can be found working at the industrial parts of the city.

-Most Most Wanted criminals actually use models which aren't used by them on the photo, or have enemy gangs as their cover:

-Maxwell Caughlin (Caddy) - Uses the same model as on the police database, which is a member of the M.O.B. or the NHH. His friend is a member of the M.O.B. or the North Holland Hustlers too.

-Scott Guzowski - Uses the same model as on the police database, which is the drug dealer model. His friends are members of the McReary Crime Family.

-Antonio Rivette - Uses the same model as on the police database, which is a fat italian guy, hanging around Westdyke, Leftwood and Little Italy. His buddys are members of The Commision (unknown which family)

-Rodrigo Stavnes - Uses a model of a Hillside Posse member, while on the database he is that black Bohan drug dealer. His friends are members of the Spanish Lords.

-Fernando Tisdel - Uses the same model as on the database, which is a member of the Spanish Lords, however his head may change as it has two head models saved. His friends are Spanish Lords too.

-Tyler Pickrel (Pickerel) - Uses the same model as on the database, which is a member of the MOB or the NHH. He does not have any friends.

-Preston Pecinovsky - Uses the same model as on the database, which is the same model as Kalem, so he is a member of the Albanians. His allies use models of Albanians too.

-Alonso Goralski - Same in both, in-game and database, which makes him a Russian Mafia gangster. His ally is a member of the Russians too.

-Bert Reker - Uses the model of a Lost MC biker on the database, however in-game he takes the appearance of a fat Angels of Death biker. He is aided by members of the Lost MC and the Gunthugs MC.

-Freddy Paparo - Has the same model in both, in-game and database, which makes him a member of the Jamaican Mafia. His men are Jamaicans too.

-Shon (Simon) Kikuchi - His model on the database is a Triad member, in-game it's identical, however his face may change (similiar to Tisdel). He has no allies.

-Jimmy Kand - On both he uses a model of a Skinhead. His allies which don't have to be killed have the same model.

-Simon Nashly - He uses the model of a Lost MC biker in both his appearances. Strangely, he is aided by Angels of Death members.

-Tommy (Foma) Francovic - He is a Russian Mafia gangster in both his appearances. He has no friends.

-Barry Lamora - Uses the same model in both in-game and database, which is the Bohan drug dealer (same as Stavnes' database picture). His two friends are members of the AOD.

-Lino Friddell - He is a Russian Mafia thug in both database and in-game, however his face can change. His friends have the same model as Alonso Goralski.

-Juan Haimo - He is a Jamaican ped which isn't affliated with the Jamaican Mafia in both his appearances, however his friends on the NRG's are members of the Hillside Posse.

-Darren Covey - He is one interesting person. He uses the same model in both his appearances, which is a white male and his friends use models of pedestrians found around Purgatory, Downtown and other areas like that. They are called internally ''Streetpunk''.

-Leo Brodell - He has the same model again in both in-game and database, making him a Jamaican Mafioso. His allies use the same model as Freddy's and Juan's men.

-Christov Mahonvic - He has the same model as Alonso Goralski in both. His allies share their model with Goralskis friend too.

-Marty Boldenow - He is a Skinhead like Jimmy Kand in both. His buddys share their models with Leo Brodell.

-Noel Katsuda - He has the model of a slim Triad on the database, and in-game he has the model of the VERY fat Triad. His allies share their model with the weapon dealer in Chinatown.

-Rodney McEniry - His both appearances are the same as a member of the McReary family. His allies use Irish models too. I think he might be an ally of Bucky Sligo.

-Glenn Lushbaugh - He has a model of a Lost MC biker in-game, while on the database he is a Jamaican Posse member. His friend has the same model as him.

-Phil Bacerra - It seems R* swapped the models of him and Noel. He uses the fat Triad model on the database, while in-game he has the model of a slim Triad member. He is aided by young Triads which share their model with Kikuchi.

-Sergi Szerbin - He has the model of a member of Darren Covey's Gang, a Streetpunk model in both his appearances. His friends are young Russian Mafia members.

-Danny Hatmaker - He has the same model in both of his appearances and he's a MOB or NHH gangster. His allies use models of the same gangs as him.

-Mervin Eskuchen - He has a model of a ped found in Alderney and on Colony Island or Happiness Island on the database, while in-game he has the model of a Chinese tourist. His friends share their models with Freddy's, Leo's and Juan's men.

-Frederick Harrison - That guy has the same appearance in both of his forms, which makes him look like a Taxi Driver (not that Greek MALAKA guy). His friends share their model with Brodell and Marty's men.

-Keenan Burdett - His model on the database is a beta ped model. In-game he has the model of a Dominican/Latin pedestrian found in areas like South Bohan or East Holland. His friends use the same models as Danny Hatmaker.

Phew, that made me busy...
