Tycek
I don't get it. What exactly are they trying to do with this? They're expecting you to pay 60 bucks up front for 3 levels with 6 missions, and wait for the rest to be released? This is some grade-A f*ckery right here. No, they want you to pay 15 bucks for one mission and tutorial and then wait for the rest to be released.

Grichka Bogdanoff
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/02/03/hitman-on-ps4-beta-and-story-details-revealed/ There is a world beyond yours, where economics and luxury collide with violence and power. Welcome to a world of assassination, a dangerous place of hidden violence where secret deals and bloody murder decides who holds power. It is a world where agencies such as the ICA work in the shadows to bring balance to the power struggle. The world of assassination is an expression of the ongoing game world we have built over the last 15 years at Io-Interactive since the release of the very first Hitman game. It is the setting for past, present, and future Hitman games. Episodic Storytelling and NarrativeHitman will launch on March 11th as a truly episodic game experience with a major live component. The episodic nature of Hitman allows us to craft both individual stories centred on Agent 47’s targets as well as longer season stories involving 47, Diana Burnwood, the ICA, and an entirely new main cast. The structure is inspired by contemporary TV series’ and will unfold over multiple seasons. To begin with, the overall story and the individual mission stories run in parallel but as the first season progresses, the tracks will merge and become one. Before That, the BetaThe Hitman Beta will be available first on PS4 starting February 12th. You can guarantee your access right now by pre-ordering either the Full Experience or Intro Pack via PlayStation Store. The Hitman Collector’s Edition will also include access to the beta, and full details on that are up on the dedicated CE page. Whichever version you choose to pre-order, you’ll also get the Blood Money Requiem Pack. As well as being the first to play the Beta, PS4 players will also get exclusive access to The Sarejevo Six. These are six bonus contracts that tell a self-contained side-story revolving around former members of a paramilitary unit called CICADA. Agent 47 will travel the world in pursuit of his targets, with one contract available in each location from the game. The first PS4 exclusive contract will be available when the game launches on March 11th. We’re calling it “The Director.” Your target is Scott Sarno, Director of European Operations for the CICADA private military corporation. He is a thirty-year veteran of clandestine operations and has been linked to a number of questionable operations in Europe and the Middle East as far back as the mid-nineties. He is highly trained and incredibly observant, you should expect him to be accompanied by several CICADA agents at all times. Creed Bratton
So chopping the game up into episodes isn't enough. They still want people to pre-order for DLC on top of that. But Payday 2 at least had tolerable amount of maps to play on release. You know what's funny? we all whine about the developers for being total dickheads like this..... but what we should whine about are the idiots who decide to support companies who have this type of business model, ppl who pre-order the games out of hype. Niobium
i hope the preorder content is just reskins of weapons already in the game. like for example the rubber duck explosive is just a reskin of the RU-AP mine. John The Grudge
I could be wrong but I think the episodic strategy will prove to be a terrible mistake that'll cost them a huge amount of sales. Saliva
Mister Pink
I was quite against the idea however, there are some games that I wish I never bought and I can see the advantage of purchasing the first episode (however, it will be almost like paying for a demo so it better be sizable) and then buying the rest in bulk (if you like it) which the first price will be offset from the full price of you know what I mean. Does anyone know how they'll release the episodes? I mean will the full release be release after the episodes? Over how long will they release them? hornedturtle
So, you can buy the full game for $60, or buy the demo and upgrade pack for $65...the value is real. Can't wait to see the Australian prices for this =.=
KarimNTerr
Thanks bro. You're welcome. However, since I'm not a Current-Gen console owner at the moment, I'm not interested in buying Hitman episodically, but if I were, I'd still wait for the full game to be released and read other player's opinions. Gotta admit I'm not a big fan of this marketing strategy. In the meantime, I'll probably fire up my PS2 and play some good old Hitman: Blood Money and try to do things differently than I did in my last two playthroughs. That game is amazing, and the only thing I don't like about it doesn't even have to do with game itself as the PS2 disc includes the demo of a sh*tty game - Urban Chaos: Riot Response - and it takes a lot of memory. Created, there is nothing stopping them from finding back up files created by dr ort-meyer and starting the cloning factory again. Daz
I seen the movie the other day btw and it was amazing. As a day one hitman fan, i hope this game blows me away and fighting is like how it was in the movie I don't know what movie you watched but it was NOTHING like hitman, even the earlier movie had more memorable scenes than the new one and even that one sucked too and was nothing like hitman. It is just this shift from ACTUAL silent assassin smart tactics and timing to action orientated wank fests that make no sense in a game about planning and silently executing a job with no witnesses or evidence of your involvement. That 15 minute gameplay video where he lures the guy around a fuze box and instead of knocking him out, or even simply aiming his pistol himself and shooting him in the head, he does an automated animation which forces you to fire 2 bullets into the guy's back anyway, literally more wasteful than if you have just shot him yourself from a distance. I hope from good titles this year like Witcher and Fallout that someday eventually we will get games again when they are just made in silence and just released on time and finished. I think a lot of these problems we have are entirely financial based it's those poor choices that really f*ck up a game franchise for good. Having to promote a game years in advance to try and get some value in your stocks. f*ck right off. Just make a good game then advertise the sh*t out of for 6 months before release and be done with it. You can sell us as much insane sh*t after, as long as a game is complete. I find myself turning to early access stuff these days, sure it's unfinished too, but at least they can't force me to buy it again or buy dlc as the game isn't even technically released, and we still get updates every few weeks for free. Why should I buy into this bullsh*t system? I would rather just wait until they have finished it and play the game as a whole experience. There is something to be said for games that are complete and don't try to over stay it's welcome. A game can still be amazing and game of the year even if you finish it in a week or two. Just make it feel complete, it doesn't even need much effort to do that. I got it with Hotline Miami, why cant AAA games do the same? The problem is allowing people to complete a game it lets them have closure on a game and enables them to move onto the next game. What they are doing and what Destiny and GTA5 did is that it makes you think it is not finished and there is more coming soon and every part is so small and meaningless that before you know it you have been playing the same game for 2 years still buying into their sh*t. I don't want that at all. I want to have enough content to keep me busy, finish it, feel satisfied, move on and come back to it a year or so later when I feel like it. Anyway, they really are pushing their luck here, it is such a shame because Hitman, out of all games out there, is the one I wish this wasn't happening to. Every other game I love usually has similar copies. But this? There is no other competition for this type of game. And don't say assassins creed, it has f*ck all compared to hitman. They have an entire game genre to themselves, they could do so much with it, but they are just going to piss it all away. To think that the games from 2002-2005 had so much replayability and so much content and things you didn't discover for months that it really oozed value there. At this point I think I would much rather just crowdfund some modded in levels and content for blood money than I would a new game at this point. I just can't trust them anymore. All faith of a good hitman game is just gone. How is this bullsh*t preorder crap and bullsh*t business model not just going to encourage people to just pirate it and get all the items they have locked out of the game? How can they expect us to appreciate their work when they expect us to pay for all this sh*t? If the first part is only £5-10 I would consider it. Because if it is coming in 4 chunks, and a full retail game is £40 then it shouldn't exceed £10 per part. I refuse to buy in to the Destiny or GTA5 bullsh*t business model again. I just don't f*cking need it in my life. I refuse to accept that every game I play HAS to be more than twice as much as they were on the 360 yet still have less in them. I'll just go play the older games again. It goes the same for movies too. There may only be 2-3 movies I actually liked a decent amount in the last 3 or 4 years, it works the same with games. You are just going to benefit more from indy releases or older stuff you know is already good. sh*t just ain't what it used to be. dyspoid
Hitman used to be one of the most solid, entertaining and challenging games that I used to play as a child. It would be a shame to see it implode in the way you guys have suggested. Also, is it definite that each "season" will have only 6 missions? From memory absolution didn't have that many more. If the subsequent seasons were also 10 missions and considerably cheaper, it could actually be kind of alright.
