InfamousSabre
Not sure if this is worth sharing but H1Vltg3 made a thing that allowed GTA animations to be created in Maya. Might not be that helpful but from what I've heard Maya is supposed to be retarded easy to use. Could be helpful if anyone ends up doing the executions and sh*t. I know every execution animation by heart. But unfortunately, I never used Maya. How about 3DS Max? It works with Max too

InfamousSabre
Okay, as much as I like Manhunt and would like to talk more about it, this really Isn't a Manhunt thread, and I think we need to stay OT. InfamousSabre
Make a new thread :3 Like a "Manhunt Inspired Mods" thread. I'd probably come by a lot even. I'd make the thread, but I don't have time to keep up with another one. You should try uploading your pain sound mod to http://www.gta4-mods.com/

InfamousSabre
Just to keep you all updated, this isn't dead. I've just been taking time to work on other things. In doing so, I've learned a few things that will help with Silence/AGS.
Ricebox
Someone on reddit was asking if there were any mods that disable the game from forcing you to ditch an empty weapon. Did you ever find a fix for that? InfamousSabre
InfamousSabre
Not yet, unfortunately. It seems that even if the waepon is already put away, if its ammo is 0, the game removes it fromm the player. Best thing I can do ATM is prevent the last shot from being fired. I have much better animation times now, so it should work alot better than that buggy attempt in Silence!. Ive been looking into the decompiled game scripts lately. Ill have a look and see if any of them cause the weapon to be discarded. Ive noticed a few times that the game actually let me keep an empty weapon until I tried to aim it again
InfamousSabre
Been making good progress this week. Trying to make everything as easy to use as possible. I'm curious about something though: Does anyone actually like the Crysis weapon attachment menu, or want it? I like it because it's easy to debug with, but I want to know the opinions of other gamers.

InfamousSabre
Just added in Muzzle Brakes, and different suppressors and brakes for different weapons! Been making good progress this week. Trying to make everything as easy to use as possible. I'm curious about something though: Does anyone actually like the Crysis weapon attachment menu, or want it? I like it because it's easy to debug with, but I want to know the opinions of other gamers. I'm more curious as to how that looks from a third person perspective since Crysis was entirely first-person. Is it the same menu from the recoil video? What's the alternative to using it? Well the camera angle will change when you go to switch attachments, so you won't really be in 3rd person anymore. You will only see the weapon in the player's hand. Also, the time will slow down. (like in GTA V when you switch weapons) The alternatives would be: 1.) Gunsmith at Arms Dealer adds/removes attachments for you. 2.) Player uses a Workbench at his safehouse to add/remove attachments. 3.) Something else? I'm up for suggestions. How have other games done weapon modification that you have liked? Ricebox
I think gunsmiths and workbenches could be interesting because, as I've said before, they would introduce a degree of planning to decking out your weapons. If the attatchment menu changes the camera view though then I'd say go for it as most people would prefer on-the-fly weapon customizing anyway. Army of Two had a super expansive attatchment system but it seems like a far cry from what you're going for as the whole thing is done through a series of menus outside of gameplay. Example from the newest game: Edited August 2, 2014 by Ricebox

lolleroz
Hey man, how's the progress? Sorry for nagging but it's literally my most anticipated mod for IV so far, assuming you'll release it along with the recoil system... I'm gonna make a whole new playthrough lol, coupled with Pickups and realistic reload mods finally the combat will feel balanced, I'm getting tired how you can snipe everyone with Uzi unless you just change the accuracy to something sh*t which makes none of NPCs be able to hit you... InfamousSabre
Progress is really good. Only need to set up the menus and personal settings type stuff now. I have about 3-4 projects going all at the same time. One of which is fixing Pickups2.0 (Does nobody but me notice it crashes sometimes??), and when you think about it, this project is actually 5 scripts in one x_x... Doing my best to meet all your expectations Btw: you'll still be just as accurate on your first shot ;P Edited August 14, 2014 by InfamousSabre
lolleroz
Sounds great! No I haven't noticed that, even on my 10 hour playthrough (yes I was really bored...) it didn't crash once on me. I am getting some random stutters there and there though, but that seems to be something else oriented - since it only happens on IV, not EFLC. Yeah I realize that, but at least I won't be able to put 10 rounds into the exact same spot on full auto
Ricebox
Yeah I rarely have problems with Pickups unless I use a mod that conflicts with it (the home-invasion mod, oddly, is the only one that I remember giving me trouble). Have you made any progress on your other projects that we can maybe see? Throwing Knives is the only mod you've released recently but it came so out of left-field I didn't have time to hype it up proper.

Throwing Knives is the only mod you've released recently but it came so out of left-field I didn't have time to hype it up proper. I just made a small script to rid peds of fear: "Courage", and it sparked a new idea in my head for a Chaos-Mode type thing that I'm currently getting down on paper to fully script later. Think: special (riot-themed) events, special enemies, makeshift gangs, all-out chaos. Was going to release them as one script "Courage & Chaos", but I may just release them separately since there isn't any actual need to have them together. We'll see. If combined, options will let you use them separately. I got in coding mode and socially-disappeared for a week lol. Then I randomly decided that I should clean up Throwing Knives and release. At least with AGS there will be plenty warning Next on my list for this is setting up the workbenches and gunsmiths. Getting tired of staring at this 'Crysis' menu all the time x_x Edited August 17, 2014 by InfamousSabre AgentWD40

Your creepy A.I. buddy demo video was pretty interesting idea. Wonder what your going to make out of it . Also was wondering how you made peds have no fear? Ricebox
Hey man. Don't know if you know this already but the Assault Shotgun (from TLAD)'s animation I think could be useful for the grip attatchments in AGS. Just something neat that can make the mod seem a little more polished, if you haven't added it in already. There are download links for TLAD + TBoGT anim files here, which I think could also be helpful. InfamousSabre
