@JF-Mir2 I wouldn't call being able to read that message amazing or impressive. Once explained numbers are easy to read.

That Viet Nam Pic was famous, but the movie film showing the whole execution was something else. It ruined a lot of war/gangster (fiction) movies for me. As I hadn't up to it known that the blood would keep pumping out of the hole in the guy's head, a good foot of gore for what seemed like a minute or more. They never (very rarely) show that picture of the blood gushing out the other side of his head.

This is broken up into half a dozen smaller images so I'll just link the page and post the best part.

Anyone read theoatmeal.com? Haven't been on in a while, but this floored me.

And out of that $20,000 goal, he's raised over $166,000, with almost 2 weeks left. The goal was reached in 64 minutes, he said.

This, ladies and gents, is volcanic lightning. It also happens to be the greatest natural occurrence ever.

I guess vaguely accurate watches are cool now?

Check out single-handed watches. They tell you the time to within a quarter-hour. Few people actually need any more accuracy than that.

Few people actually need any more accuracy than that.

it's true.

I can't think of anyone who actually needs a minute hand.

What you ment to say was 'don't need a HOUR' hand. The increments are generally 5 and 10 minutes, with larger marks at 15/30/45 minutes.

By Scott Wade, who takes a car and drives on a dirt road to get it as dirty as possble (usually take a week or so), then "paints" on the

rear windscreen as if it was a canvas.

Signal Hill

A panoramic view of Signal Hill in 1923, a small city in Southern California. On June 21, 1921, oil was discovered in Signal Hill, part of the Long Beach Oil Field, and the city was soon covered with over 100 oil derricks (seen here). Because of its prickly appearance at a distance, it gained the nickname "Porcupine Hill". Today, many of the oil wells and nodding donkey oil pumps are gone, although some remain. Signal Hill is now a mix of residential and commercial areas.

"The Hubble Space Telescope shows a rare view of a pair of overlapping galaxies, called NGC 3314. The two galaxies look as if they are colliding, but they are actually separated by tens of millions of light-years, or about ten times the distance between our Milky Way and the neighboring Andromeda galaxy. The chance alignment of the two galaxies, as seen from Earth, gives a unique look at the silhouetted spiral arms in the closer face-on spiral, NGC 3314A."

Heres something surreal. This Titanic model, which is 60ft long, was used in Jim Camerons "Titanic". It was only half the ship, used to simulate the break up of the ship. Thats why you can see the third funnel tilted in the background.
