gtaocicat
I am finished with assisted aim lobbies . i am going to be in free aim only , i have had enough of getting killed because the assisted aim keeps aiming at everything but the player i am going after . i rather get killed because i cant aim. SALO or The 120 Days Of Sodom
cool story. maybe you should learn to adapt your strategy. I was in the same situation when I last played, and I knew how the system works, so I used R2 to shoot instead of aiming first. it was messy but got the job done. please give us another story for when free aim pisses you off and you switch to something else. Trindalas
I always keep aim assist off in GTA games anyway, I find it more fun to aim by myself, even if I am not exactly the best shot, lol. In fact, there are very few shooting games that I use aiming assist. Just takes the fun out of it imo.
artisntrealz
I think auto aim is more realisitic; when you pull a gun out in real life you would aim it right at the person you were intending to shoot, not 10 feet to the left or right of the person and then having to adjust your aim at their damn face. Just makes more sense. They really need to have an option to turn auto aim off friends and crews. There should also be a way to prioritize auto aim. Other players > police > pedestrians. Well to be honest you aimming 10 feet to the left or right is just bad aim. The gun always points int he middle of the screen. So if your target is in the middle you will pull your gun out at the middle. Basically in real life, if you aim in the wrong direction you GUN will not magically correct itself. It sure as hell won't give you the ability to shoot the wings off a fly at 100 yards while blind folded. Also... AA will never discriminate so you can't expect an aim bot to prioritize. Only the player can do that by manually overriding AA or by simply using FREE AIM. Trindalas

I will point it straight at my target no matter where it is standing. Essentially AUTO-AIMING on my target. Auto Aim is more realistic. Period. Do you understand that? 2Chains4Bracelets
@Vooodu @artisntrealz When you pull out a gun in real life, you also must first position your body so that target is in front of you, most often directly in front. This doesn't happen automatically in real life, as people often have to try to pinpoint exactly where enemies are before they try to draw beads on him. On top of this, if the enemy is quickly moving, jumping, or climbing, it's often the case that a stream of bullets will lag behind the target or miss, as the shooter must compensate for movement. I find it more natural to have to manually adjust to put your target in front of you than to just click a button and lock on. Especially ruins the game for people in cars, who are easily picked off. My two cents. Trindalas and Fizwalker
DMadS
My friend, you need to improve your skills... Massively. I do play both free and autoaim lobbies (mainly the latter) and autoaim is a lot tougher than free aim. a LOT. A bloody amateur can shoot you down if you break your startegy and run out from cover when you should not. On the other hand you use hell of a lot free aiming in auto aim lobbies because of explosives, rpg, sniping and shooting anything in the distance. If you think you're safer in a car or on foot in free aim lobbies, you're very wrong. Assault shutgun, rpg, minigun and stickies are your worst enemies in both lobbies if you're in a car. Auto aim forces people to use more cover free aim to be more mobile and always on the move. Either way you'll get dropped in no time unless you do something about it. Btw picking the wrong target is very much avoidable (and you can use it for your own advantage against your enemy)... if you pick the wrong target you scroll it to the next one... JustinR512
In real life, you're holding a gun out in front of your face, between you and what you're aiming at. You move your eyes or your head, your arms move the gun to keep it inline with your line of sight. It's intuitive. This doesn't happen in video games. Your hands and arms aren't in front of your face, they're closer to your lap, and even if you hold them up in front of your face it's not them that you're moving to aim. It's your thumbs on a little stick. The way you need to manipulate the thumb stick to aim in a game bears no resemblance to how aiming works in real life. And please pay attention to the fact that I'm talking about what you have to physically do to aim in a game, not what you see happening on the screen. What you see happening on the screen wouldn't happen if it wasn't for your physical interaction with the controller, and it's the physical action of aiming, game vs. real life, that I'm talking about here. Aiming in a game is nothing like aiming in real life. Aiming in real life is much easier, in my opinion, and this opinion comes from someone who has done it. And pulled the trigger, too. So yeah, speaking as someone with real-life shooting experience, I'll take the auto-aim. I'll grant that it can be a little too precise compared to real world. Auto aim can be used to lock on to targets you can't even see, and as others have pointed out, locking onto a player in a moving car is unrealistic. If you can't see it, you shouldn't be able to lock onto it, although you would still have the ability to point in the general direction and blind fire (of course if you do this in the real world, this can bring lots of unwanted consequences). As for moving targets, I'd say auto aim should lock your focus on the target, but your shots, by default, should fall a bit behind...which you manually adjust for by pushing the stick in the direction the person is moving, to lead your aim. Not quite real world in terms of the physical action, but a bit more realistic in terms of shooting accuracy. Nehocbelac and Fizwalker

You can keep assuming im a troll and telling me to shut 'my stupid face' all day long.. It doesn't change the fact you make no sense. In real life you "LOOK" at the target and then "AIM" at it. Same logic applys to free aim. Deal with it or just keep using an aim bot and complain when it can't read your mind when targeting. I don't use an AIM BOT. Guess how bad my problem is with targeting priority.? lol You still don't understand what i'm saying so you're obviously stupid.
