Audiophile
I've always liked the name Mary for a girl. Mary or Elizabeth, they're family names too. Don't know about a boy, I haven't thought too much on this topic since I'm only 20. But my father's name was Frederick and he passed away recently, I guess maybe that could work. But it's not a terribly "recent" name for a boy. It's very old and I'm sure people would make fun of it. What's with all these topics lately, asking people what their hopes and dreams are? What their funerals would be like? There's some really stupid "new" names out there for both males and females. I just meant, you don't see much men named Frederick these day. It's not a name most couples give their boys these days. I don't plan on naming any of my children anything stupid like "North" or "HerpDerp". universetwisters
Rikkert, Robbie, Gerrie, Barrie and Richard. I just meant, you don't see much men named Frederick these day. It's not a name most couples give their boys these days. My family usually went with old family names. I was named Philip, since it was in my family for years. Same with my brother, Carlton. It makes you wonder what's going through the heads of parents of those kids, and what they're named. Shah Sam
Fireman
I'd name a girl Ashley. Not sure about a boy though. Well,,, Ash, obviously. Problem I have with naming your children is that it's one of the few things you name, that other people will actually call by the name you made up. So I'm having difficulty chosing between being an asshole and giving my child a ridiculous name OR giving him a normal name but letting the opportunity pass by. Firefly8000
For girls, I really like the names Amanda, Alice and Jessica. Boy names I'm not too decisive on, I'd probably end up naming my kid after some kind of fictional character or something. Trevor maybe. My son would probably hate me haha. na89340qv0n34b09q340
Mary Joe, Chip, Bryce, McDonalds*, Aaron, Kayleigh, and Louise. * I am (half) serious about McDonalds, or maybe OxiClean. I want a modern name that doesn't make them come off as a hippie. (It's a male name by the way, OrangeGlo and Wal-Mart would work for a female.) I got the idea from a book I read once. GTA_stu
Girls names are the hard part. Because I refuse to name my daughter after 1) a pornstar 2) a girl/woman I've had dirty thoughts about (believe me, there's been a LOT) 3) a girl I've slept with, although that doesn't really put a dent in the potential list at all 4) some skank/annoying ass ho that I've known at some point in my life. It doesn't seem hard at first, because there are so many names you could choose from. But famous people make it hard, because I've fantasised about virtually every famous female. Actresses make it even harder because I'll have fantasised about the actress, as well as a lot of the characters they've played. E.g. Jennifer Aniston rules out the names Jennifer, Polly (Along came Polly) and Rachel (Friends). Not that I'd name my daughter Polly because that's a f*cking stupid name. Eh, if it's a girl maybe I'll just do what the Chinese do. Boys names don't really matter, just as long as it sounds OK and doesn't rhyme with a synonym for penis then that's all I'm looking for.
