Golf request overload!

Ive been playing gtao since early October. I just played golf for the first time 3 days ago, to top off my strength stat, with the Hole 6 trick. Ever since, every session I join, I get notifications that simply say 'GOLF' from players that arent even in my session. What is this about?

i guess it depends on game modes played

 

only game modes i've played are deathmatch, races and survival and i occasionally get invites to those from people i never even met

I play those modes too, but never got invites from people I dont know.

That Invite skill level players option will do this a lot, especially if your name starts with an early letter in the alphabet. But hey, if you actually get into playing Golf and on PS3, hit me up! Only ever found a handful of people that are good and like to play it.

Added. I actually like golf in GTA V a lot, hopefully when they port it over to next-gen you can chip it in off the flag though.

When they host their next game, they are choosing auto invite, and it invites people from their last job.

Same as here. I'm free on weekends mostly. If I'm on while it's a weekday I'm only changing car colors and leaving after.

Ya... that's funny, I've done it a few times.. I think I might have managed to win 1 match.. but I'm not sure how, I was going crazy on my left analog, back and forth like a mad man, iirc.. but I'm not even sure if that's actually how you're supposed to play. Kind of silly either way.

Yeah arm wrestling is pretty ridiculous. I've done it maybe 6 times and won every time because I figured out a really easy way of doing it. If you just ignore all the other buttons and just use one hand to hold the controller and the thumb and index finger on the other hand to wriggle the right analog stick back and forth as fast as you can you can really easily beat people every time within only a second or two. I think most people try to do it with their thumb or some other way, because I've never even come close to losing. I noticed my strength stat also went up a little from doing it a few times.
