Artists are known for using autotune. In the studio and on the CD, they sound amazing, but try hearing them at a live concert and you'll see the difference. She can't sing. Either way, I wouldn't call singing the same verses over 80 times "music".

Well, I would still call it music. And I still think she is smart. I'm aware of auto tune, but a lot of artists who can't sing, sound awful even when finished editing.

 

 

Not necessarily. Some artists such as Kesha are completely f*cking awful. Autotune can make her voice perfect. Autotune can make anyone's voice perfect. Music is not about dressing like a slut and singing the same chorus over and over. I'm sorry, but that isn't "real" music. Music nowadays can be absolutely anything due to autotune and the amount of young fans whom also don't know anything about music. If she was smart, she wouldn't be dressing like a Detroit prostitute and making over 10 songs about getting wasted at a nightclub. Wow.. how amazing and relaxing. Every time I hear her songs, I become less smarter.

Don't be sorry, it's up to each individual to determine whether they consider it as real music or not I don't like her music, I think the songs are boring and repetitive(I have only heard two songs though), but it is in fact real music if you look at the definition.

Even people like you and myself- that certainly did not pay any attention to her existence earlier, are talking about her now. How is that stupid? I think women have moved away from acting like ladies a long time ago. The media is full of provocative women, whether it be in those trashy reality shows or in the music industry. We seem to have a distorted expectation of women, when really, I think girls like Miley are trying to show everyone that women should have a say in the matter. Appearing half-naked in a video just to crave attention and gain money as a result is equally contemptible for both genders. It just happens that there aren't that many videos featuring near-naked men, but they get the same amount of flak too for misleading their audiences with their looks. Justin Bieber and One Direction are two good examples of that. People (mostly men it seems) have criticized them for making sh*tty music that appeals to teenage girls, and they claim that girls like those guys mostly because of their looks.

I have to worry about wearing a two-piece swimsuit to a local YMCA because they're technically not allowed. Why is that? Intelligence and popularity are two different things. You don't need a high intelligence level to be able to record sh*tty music. The only reason she became famous was because of her looks and the popularity of her family. Her dad is considered a country musician legend and her grandfather was a famous politician in the state of which he lived in. If I wrote sh*t music and acted like a cockhead like the other fools such as Lil Wayne and Nicki Minge.. or Manaj (I can't spell her last name), I would be on the radio getting paid lots of money and soon after people would be talking about me. As I've said previously, it doesn't take much to be an untalented prick. And because Miley Cyrus makes lots of money, that does not mean a damn thing. Even Doctors get paid less and they are far smarter. If you look at the real meaning of music, you will see instruments were used and it was for education purposes. She sings for approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour in a recording studio and gets paid $150 million per year for it. The majority of the lyrics in her songs do not make god damn sense and only rhyme. I don't learn anything from her music. People in a recording studio press buttons. Where's the talent in that? My point is Miley Cyrus is just like anybody else and is receiving extra treatment for some f*cked up reason because people are blind and brainwashed.

People might take that like it's a bad thing, but why is it? I present myself in a much different manner than Miley does, and I'd consider my boyfriend to be much more "chivalrous" than other men. That's just what we prefer in the opposite sex.

 

Some women present themselves more provocatively than others, and some men take a different approach towards women. Certain guys will prefer one characteristic or the other in men/women, just as certain women will prefer one characteristic or the other in men/women. Women finally took the initiative to branch out and seek out what they actually like in a man. Chivalry isn't dead; it just isn't forced anymore.

 

So yeah, I don't understand why both sexes are expected to conform to a specific mold that society creates. Rock on, Miley.

since the dawn of time the world has been a man's world, and it mostly still is.

but the 21st century is really the first time that women have ever had a chance to change that, or at the very least comfortably step outside of the classic gender dynamic and do things their own way... unfortunately they're not really sure what to do.

 

no offense to individual women who are obviously just as intelligent and capable as any man.

There is a reason. The difference is that female breasts are really attractive (and hence about as distracting as genitals) while male breasts are not.

 

There are two definitions for that word as far as I'm concerned. One is about promiscuity, which should be mostly ignored by everyone, regardless of sex. Then there's the one about women using their sexuality to make money or become famous. This one is clearly more objectionable, and men get criticized for this kind of behavior too. I think the criticism Miley received stemmed from the latter definition.

Well, then it remains to be determined if both are equally as distracting, and I'm suspecting that they are not. Not all men are muscular and the fetish you are talking about is not a common thing. Would you actually say abs are just as distracting as a penis? Because female breasts are about as distracting as a vagina.

 

That's not how bras and low-cut tops work. They cover much more than the nipple, but I would agree that covering just the nipple is not that big of a change from naked breasts.
