Post your favorite ambush spots and safe havens

I found a new favorite spot so this is my old one.

It's the clocktower near the beach. You can snipe one-shot-one-kill everybody in a vehicle inside the circle. Players getting into their tank on the beach or at the police station nearby never know what hit them. In the tower you're completely protected against jets, buzzards, tanks and rpg's. And the roof is just big enough for the merryweather chopper to land on.

Make sure you shoot out the clock lights at night and wear something dark. Happy hunting

 

 

Hehe, I discovered that spot a few nights ago when I was chasing a tank trying to snipe him.

 

I also like the one near the chinese theater (don't have pic but it's the big square one with 4 big vents on top of it, just to the right of the chinese theater, facing the Clappers building). It gives you a great line of sight on the tank spawn at the horse tracks for sniping, and while it's too close to the chinese theater spawn location to go through the armor it's still close enough for you to snipe/ RPG anyone that tried getting in.

 

Covers the whole north area pretty well and there another couple of good vantage spots nearby as well if needed.

 

 

I also like using the vinewood bank interior when I have a bounty. Rigged properly, it becomes like a fort.

If you go inside and follow the corridor then you'll find a ladder (and a couple of very handy soda machines)...

 

 

 

 

If you go up the ladder then you have a clear view of the whole of the airport. I've had people try helicopters, mercs, tanks - the works, but nothing touches you up there. The mugger *will* come up the ladder, but depending on where you are on the roof you can usually see him way before he gets to you since there's only the 1 way onto the roof (on foot). Tanks in particular are a real pleasure to deal with from up there as they have 0 cover and usually just drive straight at you. If you don't manage to snipe them out then just go back down the ladder and deal with them inside where the tank can't harm you.

It's a proper good hold-up place that I've survived many bounties at. Have fun before it does become real common knowledge.

I use the very top of the Airport Parking Garage, not used a ton and lots of hiding spots.

The beach farm house and lighthouse on the east coast.

I love just chilling there killing cops, when someone attacks me I just go off radar and move to ambush positions near the hills

My favourite place, i just fly with my Buzzard to this point and start sniping tanks.

I already killed a lot of noob with tanks who kill anyone for no reason, that's a high place of difficult access.

This is funny, they feel frustrated and change their priority just to kill me and get some revenge, so they can sleep better at night xD

some nice locations on here. i'm definitely going to try some out, as i've been looking for some new sniping spots.

 

i've had some great sessions, where i've sniped and annoyed enough people that it feels like the whole lobby is coming after me to collect the inevitable bounty. very satisfying to shoot down buzzards when they reach eye-level. even had two guys fly-up, bail out to try and kill me with the crashing helicopter and then parachute down to shoot me. very inventive. almost felt bad for killing them.

 

if i should end up in a session with the players who have read this thread however, it will be quite dull, as we'll all be camping out, with bounties, waiting for someone else to make the first move.

someone tried following me after i destroyed my tank one day and i saw them going to this position. my tank was at the beach so i knew i was f*cked....

 

so i went around the pier and came out under it, hiding by the surf and wooden beams (i called lester first too)

 

this jackass was just standing there, no cover, out on the edge of the roof.

 

one shot kill, and then i made sure he felt it when i got my tank. (btw he started the whole war by blowing my car up, following me, and attempting to run me over as soon as i spawned.... but only got 1 kill the whole time)

 

i stopped at least 3 times to set him up on the way.... each time, flawless victory.

 

thanks for sharing the common rooftop escape though... everyone thinks they are safe on a wide open roof, but you are really just trapped up there.

 

 

Unless you drove an Akuma up there. In which case the lip of the building is just an escape ramp

The fire station in El Burro Heights has a nice little tower:

 

 

Each level has 3 open windows, and the roof has a waist high wall for cover. The station is just south of the complex where you deliver all the crates/trucks for Lester's missions.

There's a building near LSC in the heart of LS that is only reachable by flying. It has a good vantage point and you can jump into the center of the building for cover. We fly tanks up there and you can cover the whole square of LSC from there

 

I know what you're talking about. I use that too. The entire middle is hollow so you can land a Buzzard "inside" the building safe from fire and then climb up the ladder to the roof and snipe

There's a system on the game called "respawn", if someone shoot you, you can back to the game and try again, and again, and again...

I personally don't have any problem for being killed for someone in a VIDEOGAME

Any train tunnel. It only has one entry point, and one exit point. Both of your flanks are covered, and there is no possible aerial threat.

On top of the Epsilon building is pretty sweet. The cops are too dumb to climb the ladders so you can focus mainly on PvP, except for the helicopters.

On top of Weazel Plaza or Richards Majestic apartments = Tank-sniping/PvP heaven.

Underground, the escape tunnel for The Vangelico Heist. Cops can't follow you, people with bounties chasing you think you're on the road above, and/or flip their car in the train tunnel or crash trying to follow you

My favourite spot is on top of Tinsel Towers (requires a heli to get there)

 

I don't have any pictures yet but it has the best view of overlooking both the east and west stretches of the Del Perro Fwy and south along the La Peurta Fwy. You really can get some long distance shots off. People haven't a clue how they died!

 

It directly overlooks LSC so you can get a nice view of all the action there. There is a crane just a block north near Eclipse that people use to go after you. I let them climb up to the top before picking them off! The dumber ones keep coming back to this (over and over...).

 

Another tid bit, there are a few air vents and places to get behind cover when the inevitable buzzard onslaught happens. I've been able to hold my own up there, but when i'm in a team, the buzzard has no chance unless he has a co-pilot.

 

Final point, excellent tank hunting spot

Paleto Bay. Safest place in the entire map. No matter what, ever instances I've entered whether it's full or not, nobody ever goes up there. There could be a war going on in the city, but Sandy Shores is as far up north as I see anyone ever travel...aside from myself of course.

Anyone else notice, one of the big hangers in the back of the airport has a sealed off room containing a PC and 2 laptops identical to the ones in your apartment or garage, same background on the screen too.

 

May be nothing, or a sign of things to come?
