You would only need this if your router can't do it itself. Most modern routers are compatible and just set up the port forwarding as needed

I think port forwarding is supposed to improve your Internet speed and make more lobbies available, so you wouldn't get too much lag in games & you could get into more lobbies.

 

At least it said something like that when I was searching for CoD (don't judge me) matchmaking improvement.

In laymans: Port forwarding can help resolve connection issues or less than expected performance.

 

This PFConfig thing though... most of it's marketing is BS and most modern routers (even cheap ones) have the tools for the user to handle their port forwarding needs as required.

uPNP didn't make port forwarding irrelevant 10 years ago. It can't even make the claim that it has made port forwarding in present day irrelevant. :p

seems to me like this software doesn't do anything you couldn't do on your own.

you can manually forward ports and change nat settings and whatnot

just google your router to see how it should be done
