Medals

Yeah, I think I better make a new topic for this one since I already looking for them in this forum but they didn't come up with an answer

 

So before GTAF changed his skin, I once had a medal for Best Mission Mod in 2011. Now I'm coming back in the end of 2013, the medal is gone.

 

So does this mean all members who already have medals will have to start all over again ? Or the medal will be given back again ?

The new forum does not support commendations/medals. I don't think the medal will be given back again but I am sure the admins are working on something similar.

It's not only the skin that was changed, it was actually the forum software. GTAF was running on Invision Power Board 1.3 for over a decade and the code became unstable and insecure; the board has been upgraded to the newest version of IPB in early September. A number of features did not make the cut in the process, unfortunately. The admins have been working with the new code for a while now and you can expect changes as well as the reimplementation of some features from the previous boards in the near future.

 

Whether or not medals will return is not certain, though. Verbal Commendations carried over to the new boards, you can still see them in your member log in case you got one sometime prior the update, but they aren't given out anymore, as far as I know. Medals disappeared completely, not even the log entries of them are there anymore.

 

There are currently the 10th year anniversary of the GTANet Awards and you will see potential prizes for the winners in a few weeks or so.
