If you played from the 1st week online you'd know that when you died you lost the cash on hand and your hospital bill was 5% I believe of your net worth up to 2k

My son went on a kill fest with his cousin and blew all the money we earned grrrr..and my nephew didnt care cause he didnt have squat and was just mugging people and robbing stores like some 2bit thug.

R* set the game up to make us broke and thought we'd be dumb and just fork over for shark cards..

They changed that real fast after all the complaints

It was sorta like Randy Marsh in South Park try to catch the dragon in that game he was playing..

OT. I see him still after every other mission, but not swerving into light poles like the first 2 weeks. I kinda missed the omnious feeling me and my friends had after leaving a mission and seeing who'd he take out.

Used to see him all the time, but after the patch before the latest one I didn't see him at all. But after this latest patch he showed up again. I've seen him 3 times yesterday, and only two were after spawing in from a mission. The third, I was driving down the road looking for a certain car, saw what I assumed to be it parked by the road got out and went to look. It wasn't it, so I crossed the road back to my car and got hit by a black blur. Figured I got hit by a random NPC, happens all the time when you cross the road without looking in this game. Got up (thankfully it had not killed me) to see it at the stop light at the end of the street. I see that it is a Sentinal, and it makes a u-turn at the light and comes back my way. As it passes by in the other lane (area I was in was two lanes, but each lane was separated by a grass divider) it slows a bit to look at me, kind of like the sharks do just before they attack in single player, then speeds up. By this time I figure it's the Sentinal guy and not just some random NPC so I run off the road and jump a fence into a yard (had little health left after his first attack). He didn't follow, just sped by again at top speed, ramming other cars as he did. First and only time (so far) I've seen him show up this way and not at a spawn in or after robbing a store.

Long time lurker here, finally decided to make a post so be gentle.

I was playing earlier, had been doing some off-roading and decided to switch sessions. After spawning I run to my sandking. Lo and behold sentinel guy comes flying by at an impossible rate of speed. Having been mowed down several times by this jerk, I decided to take action although i was in a sandking. I followed for a few blocks and sentinel guy gets into a wreck, I start shooting, and the fattest npc I have ever seen just pours out of his car and is armed to the teeth. After finally killing him, I take his car, fully mod it and drive it as a trophy even though handling, and top speed are terrible.

Sorry just had to share.

Hard to say. Some people say there is a trick involving robbing a store, then going to Xbox store or Playstation store, and when you come back it forces him to spawn. I've never had to do that, he just tends to show up from time to time after finishing a job or a race for me.

I had my first encounter with the "Sentinel Guy" late last night. I had just cracked open an armored truck and collected the cash. As I turn around to head to my car a black Sentinel XS comes out of nowhere and tries to run me over. By the time I realized what was going on, the cops showed up, making it impossible to catch him.

One of the keypad words for the hack missions is the word "sentinel".

 

It's a conspiracy and I honestly think it's in the coding to make players lose money. At launch it was 2k per death.

 

I remember I spawned at a mission point as a newb and was spawn killed repeatedly and lost 20k from 2 assholes. Couldn't go into passive as I banked my cash and it used to charge you 200.

The first I shot and killed and as I was about to pull the car into LSC, another drives into me. Okay, I start shooting that guy as a THIRD drives into me and kills me.

 

Thankfully the original Sentinel was still there for resale.
